c157: 147: The Method of Unlocking (2)

"That’s... impossible to prove, isn’t it? Besides, even if he did hide something, the information he sold was correct. For that reason alone, if he sells more next time, we’ll still have to buy it."

Looks of resignation appeared on everyone’s faces.

That was right. Regardless of whether the administrator had hidden the price of using the information, the part he sold had been verified as correct. If he sold more next time, they would still have to buy it.

After the meeting, the three head lecturers took a private car back to the Academy. The Strategy Research Room’s underground base wasn’t far from the Capital, and the three of them were soon back at the Academy.

After returning to her lecturer’s dormitory, Shi Jingyi took out her phone and sent a message to Guan Tong.

"Have a moment to talk?"

Guan Tong was sitting on his bed. He had just spent all the Psychic Power he’d recovered for the day writing in the [Wordless Book] when he saw the message from Shi Jingyi.

He replied, "Sure."

She immediately called him.

As soon as Guan Tong answered, Shi Jingyi’s clear voice came through the receiver. "It’s been a while. How have you been?"

"I’m fine. Hope you are too."

"I’m doing well. After the eighth rule, were you affected by the Mind Lock restriction?"

Guan Tong wasn’t surprised to hear this. Since Shi Jingyi knew he was Shadow, she would have definitely guessed he had taken multiple "firsts."

"I was. I’m currently looking for a way to solve it. What about you? You probably weren’t affected."

Although Guan Tong hadn’t interacted with Shi Jingyi much, he just had a feeling she wouldn’t be the type to fight for others’ "firsts."

"I wasn’t," Shi Jingyi said.

"I figured."

"You figured?" Shi Jingyi’s tone was tinged with curiosity. "You guessed that I didn’t take any ’firsts’?"

"Yeah, it’s not your style."

"Haha," Shi Jingyi chuckled. "That’s true. So, have you found a way to unlock it?"

"Not yet, but I’m trying something."

"Is that so. If your method doesn’t work, you can continue to focus on cultivating Psychic Power Flow. You might have a chance to break the restriction through your own power."

Guan Tong’s interest was piqued. He asked, "Really? Are there any successful examples?"

"Not yet. But your cultivation progress is faster than any of the other students. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be the first."

"...Alright, I’ll give it a try."

After hanging up, Guan Tong mulled over what Shi Jingyi had said.

Ever since he started practicing Psychic Power Flow, he had indeed felt himself becoming more adept with his Psychic Power. Perhaps if he reached a high enough level, he really could break the restriction, but how long would that take?

Guan Tong looked down at his [Wordless Book]. The first two strokes of the character for ’open’ were now complete, leaving only two more.

’I’ll use my own method first. If that doesn’t work, I’ll reconsider.’

In the three or four days that followed, Guan Tong did nothing else. He just repeatedly spent his Psychic Power writing, recovering, and then writing again.

While waiting for his Psychic Power to recover, he constantly browsed the internet for information, looking to see if anyone in the world had managed to break the Mind Lock’s restriction.

But he didn’t find what he was looking for. All he saw were people denouncing and condemning the Mind Lock. Their anger even spread to the North Star Country’s government for releasing the information, and to Guan Tong himself, the administrator who sold it.

Guan Tong ignored the less inflammatory posts, only deleting those that contained personal attacks and insults.

These posts didn’t get much traction, however. The truly popular ones were mostly related to the current situation in other countries.

Guan Tong skimmed them and saw that the content was all about those Ascenders who had obtained multiple "firsts" and significantly increased their Psychic Power limits. It seemed these people had begun demanding more power, triggering a series of chaotic conflicts.
