1354 The Greatest Victory in the History of Defense Planet No. 29! (3)
Did the system short-change me on purpose?
Wang Teng thought about reasoning with the system but he remembered how distant and cold it was, so he silently accepted his fate.
I can take things slow and grasp things gradually. I’m not in a hurry, Wang Teng consoled himself.
As for the Spirit and Enlightenment drops, there was nothing special about them. He collected them and felt a chill circulate in his mind; the large amount of spirit he used up in the fight was replenished and he didn’t feel exhausted anymore.
His mind was hurting because of depletion; fortunately, he managed to recover in time. He was spared from more suffering.
A few seconds passed after collecting the attribute bubbles. Wang Teng stared at the forsaken Solar Dragon’s body intently.
Many of the attribute bubbles produced by Devil Emperor Bare Brain were special attributes exclusive to that variant dragon species. This body is a treasure!
If he could secure it and beat more attributes out of it, he might be able to get more goodies.
The idea was a little inappropriate, but he didn’t have a choice. Attributes were paramount.
Wang Teng wasn’t concerned that the body wouldn’t drop attributes. He had done it before, getting many useful attributes from the Ancient God’s corpse.
This was proof that corpses could drop bubbles too!
“What’s with that look?” Bai Shanhou suddenly turned and looked at him with a strange expression.
Does he have some weird fetish? Why is he staring at a corpse with such passion? It’s scary.
Wang Teng’s heart skipped a beat. He quickly put on a stern expression and replied, “I’m just thinking what will happen to this corpse.”
“Did it catch your eye?” Bai Shanhou asked curiously.
Wang Teng was quick to deny, “No, I’m a normal person. Why would I be into a corpse?”
“A normal person wouldn’t use that gaze,” Bai Shanhou replied calmly.
Wang Teng: ???
The misunderstanding was going way overboard.
“No way. Don’t get me wrong; I’m innocent,” Wang Teng said hurriedly.
“I don’t care if it crossed your mind. Honestly, this corpse… is a little troublesome.” Bai Shanhou looked at the badly wounded corpse with a frown. He seemed worried.
“Why do you say that?” Wang Teng asked.
Bai Shanhou contemplated for some time before he said, “The Solar Dragon Race… takes great care of their own. Bloodline is more important than anything else in their eyes. They feel that they’re one of the rare noble races in all of existence.” Then, he added, “That’s the truth of it. Their talent is one-of-a-kind and extremely powerful in the universe. They have the right to be proud.”
Wang Teng took up where the other left off, “So, if they ever learned that the body of one of their own was used by a dark apparition, they will surely kick up a fuss and might even ask for the body back; they would never allow it to land in other people’s hands.”
“That’s right.” Bai Shanhou nodded, giving the young man a look of approval.
It was easy talking to a smart person.
“Sounds troublesome.” Wang Teng frowned. “I beat the crap out of this body real bad. Will they find me?”
“Based on their personality, maybe.” Bai Shanhou gloated.
“Seriously? Come on, I snatched the body back on their behalf.” Wang Teng felt wronged.
“They are a proud race. It’s likely they won’t take it as a favor.” Bai Shanhou shook his head.
“This doesn’t make sense.” Wang Teng felt at a loss.
He defeated Devil Emperor Bare Brain only to be potentially blamed by the Solar Dragon Race. What gives?
“This counts as a war spoil. Dare to take it?” The senior smiled.
“A war spoil?” Wang Teng was stunned. “I didn’t defeat No Brain by myself. General Cameron made the most contribution, and the robot trio you lent me also helped. I would only be reaping the fruit of your labor.”
He knew his own ability. Had the general not tired the powerful apparition, and the three robots not helped with stalling tactics, he wouldn’t have been able to be a match.
He wanted the dragon corpse but he knew his limits.
The general said, “Don’t look at me. If it wasn’t for you, I would have been killed by Bare Brain.” He shook his head and continued, “Also, I’m not interested in getting the corpse. It’s too much trouble, and it’s useless to me.”
“I feel that you’re trying to push the burden away,” Wang Teng said.
“Don’t spout nonsense. Do you want it?” Bai Shanhou rolled his eyes.
Wang Teng gritted his teeth and came up with an excuse. “Of course, why wouldn’t I? I love studying these unique races. I would cut it open and take a good look.” Then, he waved a hand and pulled the body over to keep in his space ring.
The body’s vitality was gone, making it possible for him to directly send it to his space ring’s storage.
“Cut it open?” Bai Shanhou looked at him strangely. “Quite bold of you, to still dare touch the body, even though you know how troublesome the Solar Dragon Race is.
“What kind of hobby is that?”
“This is normal for someone with a strong desire to learn, isn’t it?” Wang Teng waffled on.
Bai Shanhou: …
How is this normal?
What person in their right mind would have such a weird hobby?
He decided not to speak with Wang Teng anymore. He could get affected.
General Cameron had a strange expression too. He suspected that Wang Teng had been brainwashed by Veblen and now the young fellow wanted to cut everything up.
