"Here’s my chance!"
A glint flashed in Li Chang’an’s eyes as he suddenly accelerated, charging forward. His Saw Chain Sword descended with terrifying force, aimed straight at the Black Armored Warrior’s chest.
However, just in the nick of time, the Black Armored Warrior unleashed a powerful wave of Energy, forcibly breaking free from the electric current’s hold. With a fierce swing of his long blade, he generated a powerful gust of air that forced Li Chang’an to abort his attack. The two of them once again put distance between each other.
’His power is no joke!’
With a calm gaze, Shen Qiuyue seized the opportunity and lunged forward. Her High-Energy Sword aimed for the Black Armored Warrior’s flank in an exceptionally swift attack.
After dodging Li Chang’an’s attack, the Black Armored Warrior immediately noticed Shen Qiuyue’s blade thrusting toward him. He spun around, blocking her strike with his long blade. The clang of metal on metal rang out once more.
"You two are putting up quite a fight!"
Sun Yang couldn’t stand watching from the sidelines any longer. He raised his Pulse Gun, aimed it at the Black Armored Warrior, and said, "I’m getting in on this! Don’t think you can hog all the glory!"
With that, he opened fire. A beam of light shot out, striking the Black Armored Warrior squarely in the back.
Although the beam didn’t penetrate his Armor, the impact was still significant. The Black Armored Warrior staggered, nearly losing his Balance.
"Now’s the chance!"
Li Chang’an’s eyes lit up. He charged forward once more, his Saw Chain Sword flashing like Lightning toward the Black Armored Warrior’s neck.
The Black Armored Warrior was clearly flustered by the Insect Hunter Squad’s coordinated assault. He barely managed to block Li Chang’an’s attack with his long blade, but his movements were no longer as swift as before.
"Han Ruoxi, hit him with the current again!" Li Chang’an shouted, seizing the opportunity.
"You got it! Watch this!"
Han Ruoxi’s hands crackled once more with intense electricity, which shot directly at the Black Armored Warrior’s Armor. This jolt was even more powerful than the last. The Black Armored Warrior’s body instantly went rigid, and his entire suit of Armor emitted a piercing BZZZZT.
"Now!"
Li Chang’an roared. He drove his Saw Chain Sword forward with all his might, plunging it into a crack in the Black Armored Warrior’s Armor. Its sharp teeth sank into his flesh, and blood sprayed into the air.
The Black Armored Warrior let out a deep, furious roar. He shuddered violently, trying to break free from Li Chang’an’s attack, but the Saw Chain Sword was latched tightly to his Armor, giving him no way to escape.
"It’s over!"
Li Chang’an put a final burst of strength into his Saw Chain Sword. The Black Armored Warrior’s Armor was torn to shreds, and the massive impact threw him to the ground. Blood stained the floor red.
The Black Armored Warrior lay on the ground, gasping for breath. His eyes burned with defiant rage, but he no longer had the strength to stand.
"We got him!"
Sun Yang lowered his Pulse Gun, a smug smile spreading across his face. "That guy was pretty tough, but we still won in the end!"
"Don’t let your guard down. Check for any other enemies."
As he retracted his Saw Chain Sword, Li Chang’an turned to Bai Lin. "Bai Lin, what’s the status on cracking the stone gate?"
"Almost there. The recent Energy fluctuations affected the Energy Barrier. It’s weakening!"
Bai Lin quickly operated his device, his tone carrying a hint of excitement. "Give me a few more minutes, and I can crack it completely!"
"Then hurry up. We need to get out of here as soon as possible!"
Li Chang’an nodded, his gaze still warily scanning the surroundings. "This place is too strange. I can’t rule out the possibility of more enemies."
The Insect Hunter Squad remained on high alert, quietly waiting for Bai Lin to finish his work.
A moment later, Bai Lin’s voice finally came through. "Done! The Energy Barrier has been deactivated!"
"Everyone, get ready!"
Li Chang’an took a deep breath and waved for the team to approach the stone gate.
As Bai Lin pressed the final button, the stone gate slowly began to rumble. A dark red light emanated from the crack as the gate gradually opened, revealing a path to the unknown before them.
"So this is the secret behind the door?"
Han Ruoxi’s eyes widened as she looked inside curiously. "It looks like an even bigger secret is waiting for us!"
"Let’s check it out."
Li Chang’an stepped through the stone gate. The Insect Hunter Squad followed close behind, disappearing into the dark red glow.
"This place really is mysterious!"
Han Ruoxi followed behind Li Chang’an, her eyes scanning the scene inside the corridor. "Look at the Runes on these walls! They look like something left behind by some kind of alien civilization."
"These Runes seem to hold some kind of Energy!"
Shen Qiuyue gently touched the wall. A faint vibration traveled up her fingertips. "But I can’t tell what they do for now. It must be related to alien technology."
"The Energy fluctuations are strong. We need to be careful!"
Bai Lin walked at the rear of the team, observing his device while cautiously reminding everyone, "According to my earlier scans, there might be a core area at the end of this tunnel. That’s the place we really need to watch out for."
"A core area?"
Hearing this, Sun Yang laughed. "So you’re saying the main event is up ahead? I knew it wouldn’t be over so easily!"
"Don’t get too excited."
Li Chang’an’s gaze remained vigilant. "That Black Armored Warrior was just a test. We’ll probably face a stronger opponent next."
"A stronger opponent?"
Sun Yang rubbed his neck. "Alright, I get it. Brother Chang’an, don’t scare me like that. I’ll get ready for a fight."
They continued down the corridor. The deeper they went, the more the temperature began to rise. The faint smell of sulfur hung in the air, as if some kind of thermal device was in operation.
