c84: 83: Model

A model?

Lin Shen’s expression froze. He suddenly thought of someone.

"What about Brother Sun? Isn’t he your exclusive photographer?"

"We’re just colleagues. We don’t know each other well privately."

As Jiang Wan scooped up some dessert and brought it to her lips, she tentatively probed Lin Shen.

"You can tell he likes me too, can’t you?"

"It would be hard for anyone not to see, right?"

Lin Shen chuckled teasingly, also picking up his spoon to try the dessert in the center of the table.

"I’ve seen rumors online that models and photographers often end up as couples. On second-hand marketplaces, it’s always photographers selling their cameras, saying their model girlfriend is pregnant and they need money for the surgery."

"That’s not a couple. It’s a very unhealthy relationship. You don’t think I’m that kind of promiscuous model, do you?"

Jiang Wan gave Lin Shen a look that was both reproachful and coquettish. Seeing him shake his head, she finally offered a faint smile, turning her face to stare blankly out the window. A hint of apology was mixed into her conflicted expression.

"I just see Sun Wenhao as a colleague. I already made that clear to him a while ago."

"And then?"

"And then he said he wouldn’t harbor any more personal feelings for me, wouldn’t contact me privately anymore, and would stop updating the account he uses to drive traffic with my photos for a while."

"So that’s how it is."

Lin Shen was suddenly starting to understand the whole story.

"So, Senior Jiang Wan, you need a photographer? And you thought of me?"

"Well, not exactly."

Jiang Wan quickly explained.

"Usually, when I participate in various traditional-style events, the organizers arrange for a dedicated photographer for one-on-one shoots and deliverables. That was Sun Wenhao."

"So we’re just colleagues. For my daily videos, I do all the shooting and editing myself. I don’t need anyone else."

"I want to be your model simply because I figured you probably need one. I’m not planning to make you my photographer. Your schedule will be the priority for everything."

"You can come find me whenever you’re free. What do you say?"

Jiang Wan blinked her beautiful eyes playfully, looking at Lin Shen with anticipation. When she saw he was still hesitating, she couldn’t help but pout slightly, a hint of coquettishness lacing her gentle words.

"Is it because you think I’m not pretty enough?"

"How could that be possible!"

Lin Shen said with a wry smile.

"If anyone said you weren’t pretty, Senior Jiang Wan, then there probably wouldn’t be any pretty girls left in the world."

"Then what are you still hesitating for?"

Jiang Wan dug up a spoonful of dessert and offered it to Lin Shen’s lips. Her beautiful eyes narrowed slightly, and her smile held a hint of slyness.

"Are you planning to only shoot scenery from now on?"

"I was just thinking, this doesn’t seem very fair to you, Senior Jiang Wan."

Lin Shen ate the dessert from the spoon.

"If it’s all based on my schedule, won’t that interfere with your usual work, Senior Jiang Wan?"

"It won’t interfere at all. After all, it’s summer break right now. I might have less time after school starts."

Jiang Wan smiled faintly.

"Actually, there’s something I want to ask of you..."

Jiang Wan’s expression suddenly became a little bashful. After a moment’s hesitation, she said softly.

"I have a project plan for an account, but it’s not something I can do with Sun Wenhao, so I came to you."

"What kind of project?"

"A couples’ skit series."

A couples’ skit series?

Lin Shen was full of questions. Seeing his confused expression, Jiang Wan carefully explained.

"It’s about filming some interactions between a couple, acting out some TV drama plots that happen between couples, like, say... a ’memoir of my late wife’ type of thing?"

"That melodramatic?"

Lin Shen’s eyes widened, but Jiang Wan looked completely thrilled.

"But I think it’ll be a lot of fun, and it might even help you grow your account and earn some extra cash."

’I don’t really need a side hustle to make money right now.’

Lin Shen complained inwardly, but Jiang Wan’s proposed project had actually piqued his interest quite a bit.

’Anyway, my life from now on is all about experiencing all sorts of things. Acting as the cameraman for a skit series... doesn’t sound too bad, does it?’
