Chapter 982, Holding No Grudges

“He’s coming, Team Leader!” exclaimed the cultivator who controlled the Spirit Boat. The person with a face mask, who had been tailing them from a distance, suddenly hastened his pace and charged towards them.

His surging Spiritual Power and ferocious aura showed that he had some ill intentions.

Zhou Kui growled, “How dare you, Lu Yi Ye!”

He couldn’t figure out what Lu Ye was up to. Not only did Lu Ye have the audacity to attack them, but he was also on his own.

They had exchanged moves at Hundred Fragrance Restaurant previously. Zhou Kui had suffered a setback and realised that even though Lu Ye was weaker than him, his physique was just as robust.

However, both parties had restrained themselves in the fight by not fully activating their powers. There was a difference of four Minor Realms between them. Zhou Kui reckoned that if he fully activated his power, there was no way Lu Ye was a match for him.

He would never forget that he was humiliated at Hundred Fragrance Restaurant. Therefore, he said some harsh words when he came across Lu Ye outside the Hunting Pavilion. Much to his surprise, before he could even find fault with Lu Ye, the latter came looking for him.

Despite his fury, he was elated deep within.

Since Lu Ye had made a move first, it was only reasonable for Zhou Kui to counterattack. Even if the Commander found out about it, Zhou Kui wouldn’t have to worry as he wasn’t in the wrong.

He had to teach Lu Ye a lesson to vent his anger.

As many thoughts turned over in his mind, he growled and shot out of the Spirit Boat before coming at Lu Ye.

His Spiritual Power and vitality surged and formed a thick, solid protective barrier around him. His aura also reached its peak in an instant. At the same time, he pushed out his fist.

The sound of a saber being unsheathed was heard as a Saber Light flickered and slashed at Zhou Kui.

Since the Inviolable Saber was with the Soul Clone, Lu Ye was using a spare saber. Although its quality wasn’t as good as that of the Inviolable Saber, it was handy.

The saber and the fist came into contact. During the momentary deadlock, their Spiritual Powers surged and clashed.

Zhou Kui’s expression changed because he could feel how sharp the saber was. The protective barrier formed with his vitality and Spiritual Power couldn’t hold on for long.

He wouldn’t dare to remain in the deadlock. Once the protective barrier was shattered, he might not be able to withstand the attack.

He then forcefully pushed out the other fist.

When a Body-tempering Cultivator was weak, he would use some protective Artifacts like a shield. That was because when he was weak, his vitality wasn’t vigorous enough and his body wasn’t robust enough. Using some protective Artifacts could better defend himself from damage and protect his companions.

However, given Zhou Kui’s power, the protective barrier formed by his vitality and Spiritual Power was greater than any protective Spirit Artifact or Spell Artifact.

To a Body-tempering Cultivator, a sturdy body was the best protection.

Therefore, a powerful Body-tempering Cultivator would rarely use any protective treasure. If even his robust body wasn’t reliable, no Spirit Artifacts would be useful.

Faced with Zhou Kui’s second attack, Lu Ye was still calm and collected as he pressed down his saber. His already violent Spiritual Power started boiling.

A Spiritual Light flashed across the saber as it was now blessed with Sharp Edge.

Zhou Kui’s expression changed drastically because he could feel his protective barrier coming apart at that moment. The saber inflicted damage on his fist. The wound was so deep that his bones could be seen.

Fortunately, his body was strong enough. Any other cultivator who was struck by the attack would have his arm cut off.

Although a sharp pain shot through his body, Zhou Kui still wasn’t flustered. He pushed Lu Ye’s saber away with his wounded fist while his second attack remained forceful.

The fist struck Lu Ye’s chest, but it didn’t affect him much because the Protection Glyph had fended off the attack.

Even though the Protection Glyph was shattered, it had significantly weakened the attack.

Lu Ye retracted his saber, ready for the next move.

Zhou Kui felt a chill running down his spine in an instant. He had the illusion of being engulfed in a night sky full of Stars. Following that, countless lights came right at him.

He was so inundated by the innumerable lights that he couldn’t even react.

Fortunately, he was an experienced fighter. Faced with such a crisis, he quickly curled up and crossed his arms to protect his heart.

Whooshes were heard as blood spurted out of his wounds.

Following the attacks, he fell from the sky as his body was full of wounds.

“Team Leader!” exclaimed the members of Team A5 as they flew out of the Spirit Boat.

They initially had no intention of interfering. After all, Zhou Kui was a Ninth-Order Real Lake Realm Master. Throughout the entire Bing Zhou, no one could harm him unless a Divine Ocean Realm Master made a move.

Much to their surprise, Zhou Kui suffered a setback after a brief exchange of moves. As such, they quickly shot forward to help their team leader out.

While in mid-air, Lu Ye ran after Zhou Kui and continuously cast attacks at him.

Although Zhou Kui was doing his best to protect himself, his attempt was futile. The saber had been blessed with Sharp Edge, and coupled with Lu Ye’s cultivation as a Fifth-Order Real Lake Realm Master, he could shatter any protection by anyone who wasn’t a Divine Ocean Realm Master.

The attacks caused new wounds on Zhou Kui’s body as blood spurted.

He was a Body-tempering Cultivator with ample heritage, after all. Although Lu Ye could demolish his protection, he would have to use his Divine Ego if he wanted to kill him. Otherwise, it would take him some effort.

Anyway, he had no intention of killing Zhou Kui.

An hour ago, the idea of finding fault with Zhou Kui didn’t even cross his mind. He knew that Zhou Kui was resentful of him because of what had happened to Zhou Wang. He was probably his target during the conflict at Hundred Fragrance Restaurant. However, since he didn’t suffer a setback, he soon put down the matter.

He had always been a magnanimous person who held no grudges against anyone. Nevertheless, Zhou Kui threatened to teach him a lesson sooner or later.

In that case, Zhou Kui couldn’t blame Lu Ye for coming all the way here to teach him a lesson instead.

Countless attacks had been cast. Although Zhou Kui wanted to counterattack, he was unable to do so when faced with Lu Ye’s storm of attacks. He could only do his best to protect himself.

Soon enough, he crashed into the ground with a boom as his feet jabbed into it. The huge impact caused his legs to turn numb. Deep within, he knew he was doomed. When he lifted his head, he saw Lu Ye extending his leg towards him.

He hurriedly lifted his hands to fend off the attack, but it was too late.

Lu Ye’s all-out attack directly struck his face, causing him to fly away for hundreds of metres. The attack left behind a clear shoe mark on his face.
