c1054: 47: Infiltrating the Silver Palace (Part 2)

Chapter 1054: Chapter 47: Infiltrating the Silver Palace (Part 2) These are captured slaves, and a batch will be consumed regularly.

The grand melee erupted in an instant.

Duncan stood motionless, suddenly raised his hand and pulled out a greatsword, directly slicing through an incoming arrow.

This scene caused many in the audience seats to change their expressions slightly.

Being able to use a weapon to cut down arrows is rare even among demons.

— Tiefling Forest Patrol.

In an instant, Duncan locked onto a target, a female tiefling with dark red skin, whose appearance exuded a hint of exotic allure, her figure curvaceous, quite good-looking, but unfortunately, she chose the wrong person.

His figure suddenly flew out, accompanied by the swirling light of his sword, blood geysered, and the tiefling’s body was directly split into two.

Boom!

The audience erupted into frenzied roars, with some guests even lifting the enchanting demon in their laps and setting them down heavily.

The grand melee grew increasingly fierce.

Amidst the audience’s excited howls, the alluring demon beside them whispered, "Unleash the monsters."

"Also, release the devils sent a few days ago."

Creak.

One heavy prison door after another opened.

The first to rush out was a group of Purgatory hyenas, followed by Purgatory Dragon Beasts, then a cold aura spread, fearsome spiritual energy radiated in all directions, and an untethered ice demon appeared in the arena, attacking all enemies indiscriminately upon its appearance.

A storm of ice raged.

As the Berserk Demon rushed forward, suddenly an ice wall separated everything around, and then an ice spear pierced through the enemy.

— Ice Demon (Devil) (Four-Star Gold).

A shower of ice spikes enveloped the target ahead, with ripples even reaching Duncan, who had just casually killed a hyena.

Duncan’s greatsword directly shattered the ice spikes.

Then, he slowly picked up a spear from the ground, and in an instant, the ground trembled; the spear flashed like lightning, piercing through the ice wall and pinning the ice demon’s body to the wall.

Sword light swept horizontally.

A devil’s hideous head fell to the ground.

With one sword stroke, Duncan beheaded the ice demon and then kicked forcefully; such dreadful power sent the Berserk Demon flying over ten meters.

"Hiss!"

"Is this half-demon the offspring of a Balor Flame Demon?"

"His demon horns do look a bit like it."

The audience was in turmoil, while many were left in despair, able only to knead the enchanting demon in their laps, having bet to lose.

In the arena, Duncan’s figure flew out; along with a flash of sword light, he directly decapitated the three-meter tall Purgatory Minotaur. The greatsword in his hand whipped up a whirlwind, scattering remnants and dismembered limbs everywhere, and another half-Purgatory Warrior was waist-cut on the spot. Wherever his figure roamed, it was as if elegantly executing, one target after another fell slain.

Eventually, the other Purgatory creatures had to unite, attempting first to kill this most formidable enemy.

The rules of the Abyssal Arena are essentially ruleless.

Often, the strongest individual won’t necessarily survive to the end unless they are excessively powerful.

Duncan is certainly the exception.

After he slashed the head off the last half-Purgatory Zor Elf Wanderer, the arena was left only with a field of corpses, while the surrounding demons cast a gaze of awe and the enchanting demons showed eager expressions.

"A new star has arisen."

"If sent to Zerata, he might win the tournament."

The alluring demon’s expression turned eager; here appeared only small roles, but in Zerata’s tournament, especially in the death match, many legendary level demons would emerge.

The most famous recently is the Wolf-Serpent Demon Zusnagg, a servant of the Dark Monarch who has won the championship over ten times.

It is said some time ago a Balor Flame Demon that offended the Dark Monarch was thrown into the arena, and the eventual winner was the Wolf-Serpent Demon Zusnagg, who slew that Balor Flame Demon.

This arena was riveting.

It even attracted many powerful beings from the lower planes to watch, with the Wolf-Serpent Demon’s Beheading Axe facing off against the Balor Flame Demon’s Beheading Sword—both top-tier units among high-level demons, even creatures from the Netherworld came to watch and bet.

The final result was, of course, that they earned a full pot; no one had expected the Balor Flame Demon would lose.

"It’s said Fog Town recently sent a Demon Warrior blessed by the Fungal Queen Zugmoi."

The nearby scribe flipped through records and slowly said, "Galer Hashta reportedly found a powerful six-armed serpent demon—a master of swordsmanship."

"The Chapel of the Elect might also have secretly recruited warriors."

"Unclear what they are."

"Could possibly be assassin demons, or shadow demons."

"Black Flame City might give up on this tournament, but I suspect they’re preparing some trump card in secret."

Every death match is an underground struggle among Azgregate’s many powers.

Winning the tournament not only means the Dark Monarch’s favor but also the subsequent distribution of profits. Normally, in Zerata’s death matches, at least one or two legendary level warriors will make an appearance, rare in the Material Plane’s legends but not uncommon in the Bottomless Abyss.

The forces of the Bottomless Abyss update rapidly, with upper-level demons being replaced time and time again.

The alluring demon pondered for a moment and said, "I’ll go inform the lady."

Marita, Enchanting Mage, operator behind the scenes in Zamory, and once briefly one of the Dark Monarch’s lovers.
