“Don’t think you can do whatever you want!”
“If I really wanted to, Yokosuka would already be rebuilding, so you better know your place.”
Lin Yi’s mouth curved into a strange smile, and he said:
“A person can be incompetent, but not ignorant, or they might bring about their own demise.”
Gerard’s eyes narrowed, emitting a chilling glint.
“I know you’re very capable, but it’s impossible for you to kill me. I don’t want to argue about this with you; you’re not qualified.”
“Then let’s get to the point,” Lin Yi said:
“In three days, we’ll trade on the high seas, fair to both you and me.”
“The high seas? I don’t quite like that place.”
Gerard said:
“If you want to bring them back, come to Washington. You can refuse, but you’ll have to face the consequences.”
Washington…
Lin Yi muttered secretly in his heart; for him, this was the worst outcome.
“Okay.”
Lin Yi offered no objections and agreed to Gerard’s request.
“You better not play tricks; this won’t do you any good.”
“Don’t worry, I’m not interested in your people.”
Gerard picked up a pen and wrote a few numbers on a piece of paper.
“This is my contact number. Call me when you arrive, and I’ll tell you the rest then.”
After noting down the phone number, Lin Yi closed the video without much more conversation with Gerard.
Simultaneously, after closing the video, Gerard’s expression turned very unpleasant.
The reason for setting the transaction location domestically was to prevent any mishaps.
This makes it easier to deploy defensive forces, avoiding any tricks he might play.
Thinking of this, Gerard picked up his phone and dialed Morici’s number.
“Where are you!”
“I heard the headquarters’ computer was hacked and was about to go back to see what’s happening.”
“Come back quickly; I have a task for you.”
“On my way.”
Within a few minutes, Morici rushed back to Gerard’s office.
“Did you find the address?”
“It was done by that person from China.”
“A person from China?”
Morici was momentarily surprised but then caught on.
“The Chinese person who hijacked the Ocean Symphony last year?”
Gerard silently nodded, “It’s him.”
Morici’s expression instantly became serious, “If it’s him, then it’s not surprising.”
“Hearing you say that is rare.”
“He really does have the capability.”
Though reluctant to admit it, Lin Yi’s capabilities were evident to all.
After the Ocean Symphony incident, Morici had conducted countless simulations, but no matter the method, he couldn’t break free from the encirclement.
Yet, in such a deadlock, he still managed to escape.
If he hadn’t gone to rescue Caie Mitsui at the time or protect his comrades, escaping Japan wouldn’t have been an issue at all.
But I couldn’t do it,
Gerard silently watched Morici.
He was someone Gerard personally trained, acutely aware of his temperament.
He is a very self-assured person, but last year’s Ocean Symphony incident was a blow to him.
He encountered someone he could not surpass.
“It’s indeed not easy for you to say such words.”
Morici shrugged, “I admit he’s formidable, but during that incident, something we don’t know might have occurred; otherwise, he couldn’t have eluded the worldwide blockade. If I hadn’t been injured and joined the team, maybe the result would’ve been different.”
“Now is your chance.”
