c2588: 49: Bloody Battle (Part 3)

Mo Hua’s heart tightened. He looked up, and saw the pitch-black night sky bright as day.

Up above, a Cultivator strode through the air. Pure white sword aura spread around him like wings, guarding his body—brilliant, ethereal, like an Immortal.

Striding through the air!

Feathered Immortal!

This was Feather Transformation—the power in its true sense.

And this Feather Transformation Realm True Man seemed to be a Great Commander of the Taoist Court’s side. At this moment he drew with two fingers, and a heaven-rending Sword Qi fell straight down like a broken cliff.

When the Sword Qi plunged into the Great Wilderness Sect Cultivators’ ranks, Spiritual Power crashed like a landslide, splitting open the earth.

Whether Qi Refinement, Foundation Establishment, or Golden Core, all of them were shredded to nothing in an instant by that dazzling Feather Transformation Sword Qi.

The might of a single sword, to such an extent.

Mo Hua’s heart and mind were shaken; he stared, stunned.

And while the Feather Transformation Sword Cultivator used Feather Transformation Sword Qi to butcher the Great Wilderness Sect Cultivators, a streak of yellow light also shot up from the Great Wilderness Sect’s camp.

A Feathered Immortal of the Great Wilderness Sect, tiger patterns on his back, body like a raging tiger, Blood Qi surging to the heavens, stepped directly into the air. One fist blasted out and he clashed with the Taoist Court’s Feather Transformation Sword Cultivator.

With each fist and each sword crossing, a violent shock spread out.

All Cultivators affected by the shock of this Spiritual Power, whether of the Taoist Court or the Great Wilderness Sect, were all shredded.

The Feather Transformation Sword Cultivator dodged the tiger-patterned big man, then slashed again toward the Great Wilderness Sect’s lines, massacring countless Great Wilderness Sect Cultivators.

The tiger-patterned big man sneered coldly, then turned toward the Taoist Soldiers of the Taoist Court and let out a bestial roar. The sound of this tiger’s roar was ferocious and overflowing with malice; in the blink of an eye it made several Golden Core Commanders of the Taoist Court and many Foundation Cultivation Taoist Soldiers’ flesh steam away, leaving only jagged White Bone.

The battlefield instantly became all the more brutal.

Mo Hua felt a chill deep in his heart.

This was what a Feathered Immortal Cultivator truly was.

On the battlefield, soaring through the skies, a Feather Transformation Realm True Man caring for nothing.

Looking down from on high, slaughtering low-level Cultivators was really no different than Immortals butchering mortals.

Golden Core and Feather Transformation were clearly only one major Realm apart, yet it truly felt as if a "Heavenly Chasm" lay between, a gulf like heaven and earth.

No wonder Golden Core was still only called Great cultivator. Once you reached Feather Transformation, you could be called True Man.

And in the sky, the Feather Transformation Realm slaughter continued. Several Great Commanders of the Taoist Court, as well as upper echelon Feather Transformation Realm True Men of the Great Wilderness Sect, were all joining the fray.

For a time, over Fengbo Ridge, Spiritual Power pierced the heavens, Taoist Skills reached to the earth.

Mountains collapsed, the land split, flesh flew, misery beyond human imagining.

Yang Jishan’s face was aghast. "Feathered Immortals have joined the battle!"

Without a second thought, he immediately ordered the Yang Family Taoist Soldiers, "Quick! Everyone! Flee to the Third Grade territory on the eastern side!"

The battlefield of Feather Transformation was pure slaughter; no one below Golden Core could withstand it.

If they stayed, once they were caught in the sweep, they would all die.

Finishing, he hastily grabbed Mo Hua. "Come, we’re leaving together!"

Mo Hua nodded, expression grave.

Yang Jishan and Yang Jiyong then led the Yang Family Taoist Soldiers, shielding Mo Hua as they retreated together toward the Third Grade territory of Fengbo Ridge to the east.

The other Taoist Soldiers clearly had the same idea, shoving and trampling one another as they shifted toward the east and west flanks.

They were still locked in battle with the Great Wilderness Sect as they retreated.

The battlefield descended into chaos.

But before Mo Hua and the others reached the Third Grade territory, a squad suddenly appeared in front of them. Three Great Wilderness Sect Golden Core Cultivators led the group, with one to two hundred Great Wilderness Sect Foundation Establishment Cultivators behind them.

When the two sides met, one Great Wilderness Sect Golden Core said:

"That’s Yang Jishan. Kill them!"

Seeing that the enemy had a full three Golden Cores, Yang Jishan’s heart sank. But their paths crossed in this narrow place, there was nowhere to escape. He could only brace his spear and charge in to kill.

Yet one against three was exceedingly difficult.

Moreover, among the Great Wilderness Sect’s side there were two Initial Golden Core and one Golden Core Middle Stage.

Yang Jishan’s cultivation was only Initial Golden Core, and he had already gone through several bouts of fighting. Naturally his Strength was running low; surrounded by the three Great Wilderness Sect Golden Core Cultivators, his moves grew more and more sluggish.

Once he was defeated, the rest of the Yang Family Cultivators could only be slaughtered to the last by the Great Wilderness Sect.

This, perhaps, was another form of death omen.

Mo Hua’s expression grew heavy; he wanted to use the Soul-Shocking Sword again to help Yang Jishan kill enemies.

But Yang Jishan was now besieged by three men, the pressure immense. He could only barely hold on.

Even if the Soul-Shocking Sword created an opening, he would have no spare strength to kill the Great Wilderness Sect Golden Core.

If he took action himself, directly using the Godslaying Sword...

That would inevitably trigger fateful evilness.
