Bear-san Encountered an Ice Dragon
“Is this the end?” (Kagali)
“At least there are no more golems left around here.” (Yuna)
I could still see some of them in my detection range, but the golems were not converging to our direction, so it was a good time to stop.
If they got closer, Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear would let me know.
“Kagali-chan! Amazing.” (Lize)
When Kagali-san and I returned to the Bear Bus, Lize-san hugged Kagali-san.
“Are you hurt?” (Lize)
“I’m fine.” (Kagali)
“You two are remarkable. You defeated that horde of monsters.” (Lize)
“I can see why you two girls were able to reach this town just by yourselves.” (Bollard)
“And where’s the horse?” (Baran)
Baran-san was about to jump out, so I held him back and moved the Bear Bus to the stable where the horse was.
“The stable appears to be safe from any harm.” (Yuna)
From the looks of it, the stable didn’t seem to have been destroyed. It looked like we made it in time.
Baran-san got off the Bear Bus, ran to the stable, and opened the door. I went with him and went into the shed.
The horse was there.
Baran-san was relieved to see the horse, and approached it, gently stroking its neck.
“Ruga, I’m glad you’re safe.” (Baran)
The horse’s name was Ruga.
“Okay then, Ruga. It’s dangerous here, so let’s move.” (Baran)
He tried to get the horse out of the shed, but it didn’t want to.
“Ruga, another monster might come. So come on.” (Baran)
The horse resisted.
“It looks like it doesn’t want to go out in the blizzard.” (Kagali)
Kagali-san said after seeing the horse’s reaction.
Maybe because she’s a fox, she could understand the horse’s feelings, right?
I sometimes saw her talking to Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear, so I think she could communicate with the horse too.
“Okay, let’s make a tunnel to the entrance of the mine.” (Yuna)
I moved to the entrance of the shed and poured magic into the ground.
The soil rose from under the snow, creating a tunnel to the entrance of the mine.
“The horse should be fine now.” (Kagali)
Baran-san pulled on the reins and the horse started walking obediently, going through the tunnel.
So Kagali-san could talk to horses after all?
The tunnel was dark, so I’ve set up light magic in various places.
The others also went through the tunnel and headed to the entrance of the mine.
I put away the Bear Bus and walked with Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear.
Kagali-san was cleverly riding on Swaying Bear’s back.
“Thank you, Yuna-san and Kagali-chan. We made it back safely.” (Lize)
“The horse is safe, too, thank you.” (Baran)
Baran-san fed the horse some water.
The watering hole that Kagali-san and I made was put to use right away.
When they returned to the sleeping quarters in the mine, everyone sat down on the beds with relief.
“Do those monsters always appear like that?” (Yuna)
“We only know that monsters do appear, but we don’t know how many.” (Bolland)
“We always hide in this room in the mine when there’s a blizzard.” (Lize)
I see.
If even one monster appeared, these poor folks would run away.
It made sense that if someone encountered a wolf or bear, they wouldn’t check how many there were around. They would just leave the place. After all, it was an adventurer’s job to check these things. But there was no adventurer left here.
