Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Peter and Lynx Feud Chapter 49: Peter and Lynx Feud
Lynx woke up feeling more refreshed than he ever had in his past life. It was unnatural everyday he slept he felt more refreshed than the last. In his old world he used to sleep like a log for 10 hours and still wake up groggy.
With his Primodial Healing, his inhuman stats and new demonic side. He didn’t need sleep. He didn’t need to eat. He didn’t even need to shower. But he still felt like doing all that, old habit don’t die easily.
He reached for his phone on the nightstand. The screen lit up: [7:00 AM].
"Fucking great," he muttered under his breath.
Beside him, Eira was still asleep. She was curled against him, one arm draped over his chest, breathing slow and even. A small, satisfied smile tugged at the corner of her lips even in her sleep. Her dark hair was a mess across the pillow, but somehow it only made her look more beautiful.
"She won’t be waking up anytime soon," Lynx thought. The night had been... intense. Too intense for a normal human. "Thank Goodness she’s a Blessed, and my magic dick"
He sat up carefully so he wouldn’t wake her. His body was already pristine. No sweat, no dirt, no need to brush or bathe. His Primordial Healing took care of that. His uniform was draped over the chair, already Cleaned.
Other students uniforms auto cleaned every 24 hours. His cleaned itself every 3 to 4 hours. Another small reminder that he wasn’t like them.
For half a second he considered doing push ups and squats. But then he looked down at his arms. Veins didn’t bulge from effort anymore. His body already surpassed those Greek gods from Earth.
He grabbed his phone and cast one last glance at Eira, the sleeping beauty, before pushing open the translucent door. The door hissed and slid aside.
The room was already loud.
"Yoooo, Lynx!" Daniel’s voice cracked like a whip. His gaming headset hanging around his neck, dark circles under his eyes. "You’re like a fucking horse, man. You fucked her throughout the night. We heard... everything. What kind of stamina do you have? I couldn’t sleep."
Lynx didn’t answer. His eyes flicked to the side.
Peter.
The "pretty boy" was on the floor in the middle of doing push ups. Perfect form. Back straight. Controlled breathing. Sweat dripped from his jaw.
’Damn,’ Lynx thought. ’So even Daddy’s favorite is grinding now. Thought he lived off his name.’
As if sensing the stare, Peter stopped mid rep. He rose in one fluid motion and turned. Their eyes met.
The air in the room dropped ten degrees.
Daniel felt it too. He ripped off his headset and sat up. "Peter, tell him. The guy’s got stamina." He was grinning, trying to cut the tension with a joke. It didn’t work.
Peter didn’t blink. He stared at Lynx like Lynx had personally stolen something from him.
Daniel, desperate to fill the silence, leaned and peered through Lynx’s open door. Eira was still asleep inside. The sheets were pulled up to her shoulders. He couldn’t see anything.
"She’s still sleeping," Daniel said, voice dropping. "Poor girl won’t be up for a while. Even I couldn’t... you know. You got my respect, Lyn..."
"Shut the hell up, Daniel," Lynx laughed as he said. The word cut through the room like a blade. "Just shut up."
He slammed his door shut. "And stop staring at her like that, you’re almost drooling".
From the other side, Daniel sighed. "Welp. Okay. That didn’t work." Daniel closed his room door. "It’s almost time for your fight, Peter. Let’s get going."
Peter exhaled through his nose and disappeared into his own room to get ready.
Lynx checked his phone again. 7:28 AM.
He opened Instalite. Many DMs, but he saw one new DM. From Isabel.
[Isabel: Kira sent me your fight video. Be careful Lynx. And go get them. ❤️You]
A small smirk touched his lips. He typed back: "I will, take care of yourself" and locked his phone.
He was about to step out when Peter’s voice stopped him. Cold and annoying.
"What you did tonight. Don’t do it again. I prefer my sleep."
Lynx turned slowly. Peter was fully dressed now. Crisp uniform. Hair perfect. But his jaw was tight.
"And why wouldn’t I do it again?" Lynx asked, tilting his head.
"I won’t repeat myself," Peter said. "Try it again and you’ll see."
Daniel rushed in between them like a referee. "It’s okay, Peter. Let the guy have his fun. You should be focused on whichever opponent you’re facing toda..."
Peter shot him a look so sharp Daniel’s mouth snapped shut. He immediately buried his face in the Academy news feed on his tablet.
’Oh,’ Lynx thought, amused. ’So the loudmouth Daniel is scared of Peter. Or his family. I Don’t care anyway.’
"Well," Lynx drawled, stepping closer. "Be here tonight. Then you’ll see if I’ll try it agai.."
"DUDE WHAT THE FUCK" Daniel’s scream cut him off. He shot to his feet, tablet clutched in both hands. "YOU’RE FIGHTING IN ALL THE AFFINITY ASCENSION TRIALS?! UNBELIEVABLE!!"
Even Peter flinched as he heard that. "Let me see that." He snatched the tablet. His eyes widened as he scrolled.
The news was out. Official.
Lynx hadn’t announced it, he didn’t know who did and he doesn’t care. He just watched their reactions with a small, amused smile playing on his lips.
Peter schooled his face back to neutral in half a second and handed the tablet back.
"Yeah," Lynx said casually. "I’m fighting. Heading to the Ice Affinity Arena right now, too."
"You’re unbelievable, dude," Daniel breathed. "I watched yesterday’s fight. One fucking move. You knocked that guy out in one move. Respect."
"Just shut up, Daniel," Peter snapped. "His number 1 affinity is fire. Who cares if he can use four..."
"Five," Lynx cut in. His voice was soft, but it silenced the room. "I can use the five human affinities. Maybe more. Who knows." He shrugged.
Daniel stared at him like he’d grown a second head. " Fucking hell. At this rate you’re going to be King of this Academy before you even reach Year 4."
