c307: 306: Arrive in 10 Minutes

A little after six in the evening, after giving Qi Xiuping some more pointers on treating and suturing facial wounds, Yan Feifan met Yu Suye at the hospital’s south gate.

They were waiting there for his sister to arrive so they could all go to Dr. Qiu Ge’s dinner banquet together.

This was the first time Yan Feifan and Yu Suye had been alone together today since becoming intimate.

For a moment, a somewhat awkward Yan Feifan didn’t know what to say.

It was Yu Suye who broke the silence.

"Feifan, someone finally wants to buy that apartment. Guess who’s buying my place?"

"A colleague from the hospital?" Yan Feifan asked.

Yu Suye shook her head and asked with a smile, "Remember that guy who invited me to be a model, the one you said was sick just based on a gut feeling?"

Yan Feifan nodded. "Of course. Teng Wenfeng, the Client Director at Pointer Advertising."

"He’s the one buying your apartment?"

Yu Suye affirmed with a hum. "He was at the coffee shop that night to check out the area around the apartment."

"He contacted me today through the building’s property management."

"He’s a serious buyer and I’m a serious seller, so we’ve already agreed on a price. He said he’ll get a real estate agent to handle the transfer paperwork."

Yan Feifan gave a small smile. "That’s good news. If you get the money soon, you won’t have to borrow any."

He turned to look at the main road leading out of the hospital campus again, a note of anxiety in his voice. "What’s taking so long?"

"My sister always leaves right on time—she’s more eager than anyone. It’s been almost ten minutes, and there’s still no sign of her."

"Maybe something held her up," Yu Suye guessed.

They exchanged a look and fell silent once more.

After a moment, Yan Feifan worked up the courage to ask, "Su Ye, are you still sore?"

Yu Suye’s face flushed slightly. "It’s much better now."

"Um, Su Ye, I’m sorry," Yan Feifan apologized. "I got carried away and was too rough."

Yu Suye tucked a few stray strands of hair from her forehead behind her ear and said in a low voice, "It’s okay. I was the one who told you to be rougher."

"Even so, it was my fault," Yan Feifan apologized again. "I’m inexperienced and was a bit too forceful."

Yu Suye’s face turned as red as the evening sunset.

"Inexperienced is better!"

"I’m also... um... inexperienced!"

Yu Suye bit her lip and continued, "Besides, if you hold back when we’re doing... this, how can it be truly enjoyable?"

Too embarrassed to meet his eyes, she turned her head away and said in a rush, "Mhm, I like it when you’re a little too forceful!"

Her words sent a thrill through Yan Feifan, and a wave of heat rushed through his body.

Just then, he finally spotted his sister.

To Yan Feifan’s surprise, his sister came into view holding a bouquet of flowers, talking and laughing with a man as they walked over.

The man looked to be in his late twenties, about five-foot-nine, with thick eyebrows, a prominent nose, and handsome features.

He wore shiny black leather shoes, light-colored casual pants, and a slim-fit shirt. The look, combined with his short hair, gave him a sharp, energetic air.

Yan Feifan recognized him at a glance. It was Jee Mingzhi, the groomsman his sister had met last Saturday.

He couldn’t help but mutter under his breath, "This guy sure is proactive."

Yu Suye nodded slightly. "He looks just like his photo. He’s definitely handsome."

"Your sister is all smiles. She must be happy with him."

Yan Feifan snorted heavily.

"This is my brother, Yan Feifan, and his girlfriend, Yu Suye."

"And this is Jee Mingzhi!"

Yan Ziruo briefly introduced everyone. After they exchanged hellos, she turned to Jee Mingzhi. "You came all this way just to see me. I really should treat you to dinner, but we already have plans."

"I’m so sorry..."

Jee Mingzhi laughed good-naturedly and interjected, "Not at all. I’m the one who dropped by unannounced; it’s my fault."

"Ziruo, are you free after work tomorrow?"

Yan Feifan quickly cut in for his sister, "Hospital work is unpredictable. Something could come up at the last minute."

"Let’s just see how tomorrow goes."

Jee Mingzhi looked to Yan Ziruo, who chimed in, "Even for us in finance, things can come up unexpectedly."

"Oh," Jee Mingzhi said with a smile. "In that case, we’ll be in touch tomorrow?"

"Sounds good, we’ll talk tomorrow!" Yan Ziruo agreed with a smile.

As they watched Jee Mingzhi drive away in his Peugeot, the smile vanished from Yan Ziruo’s face, replaced by a sharp glare directed at her brother.
