c508: 507: Letter of Challenge

After dinner, the night was deepening.

Wang Chuan, the Yan siblings, Yu Suye, Yanyan, and Tian Yu gathered once again on the large second-floor terrace of the villa to cool off and chat.

Zhong Xinyi had to stay at a hotel in the city tonight for work negotiations and other matters, so she wouldn’t be coming back.

Yan Ziruo, sitting in a wicker chair, ate a piece of cool, sweet watermelon and leaned back comfortably.

She looked at the brightest star in the night sky, listened to the chorus of chirping insects all around, and couldn’t help but sigh, "Now *this* is the life."

"Hey, my dear Feifan, when I get married, you have to buy me a villa here as part of my dowry."

Yan Feifan didn’t respond verbally, just grabbed his sister’s shoulders and started shaking her vigorously.

"What are you shaking me for?" Yan Ziruo said, annoyed.

Yan Feifan chuckled. "I’m shaking you out of your daydream, so you don’t keep spouting nonsense."

Wang Chuan laughed. "The villas here go for around a hundred thousand per square meter. With Feifan’s current earning power, he can afford it."

"It’s just that Phoenix Tail Mountain has great scenery, it’s a reasonable distance from the city, the airport, and the high-speed rail station, and the amenities are fairly complete. Very few villas here are ever put up for resale."

"You could say there’s a price, but no market."

Yu Suye added, "It would be even more perfect if a top-tier hospital were built nearby."

Wang Chuan nodded. "That’s true."

"I heard that someone wanted to invest in building a high-end sanatorium nearby, but they never got approval from the higher-ups."

"Besides, the government has stopped allowing new villas or residential projects to be built in this area."

Yu Suye smiled. "That’s a matter of policy and planning."

"But if they can ban it, they can also lift the ban. It all depends on the backing and strength of the project’s proponents, as well as the project itself."

She suggested, "Director, what if the Affiliated Hospital and Baining Hospital applied together to build a high-spec, research-oriented, comprehensive hospital here, one that would also take on a certain number of international patients?"

"What do you think the chances of getting approval would be? High?"

Yan Feifan couldn’t help but say, "Su Ye, you’re still thinking about this?"

Yu Suye giggled. "Mainly because, just like your sister, I’ve fallen in love with the scenery here."

"If a hospital was built right next to this place, we could live and work here. Wouldn’t that be perfect?"

Wang Chuan mused, "Given the Affiliated Hospital’s influence in Binhai, plus the Baining Group’s financial resources, getting approval isn’t entirely out of the question."

"It’s just that a project of this scale isn’t something we..."

As he said this, Wang Chuan suddenly stopped.

He turned to Yan Feifan and said cheerfully, "How could I have forgotten about you, Feifan? You could put a bug in Mr. Liu’s ear."

"If Mr. Liu also agrees with this idea, maybe he can get the project moving!"

Yan Feifan couldn’t help but roll his eyes.

"You guys are really overestimating me, aren’t you?"

"I know Mr. Liu has always wanted to build a branch campus, but the problem is he’s never gotten support from the higher-ups."

"Who knows how many people are covetously eyeing this area of Phoenix Tail Mountain? Getting it approved for a hospital will probably be very difficult."

Yu Suye urged him, "Feifan, how will you know it can’t be done if you don’t even try? Besides, there’s no harm in it!"

"Alright, I’ll mention it to Mr. Liu," Yan Feifan agreed casually.

In truth, none of them—not Wang Chuan, Yu Suye, or Yan Feifan—took the matter too seriously.

A decision of this magnitude was far beyond their reach...

The group chatted casually about building the hospital for a few more moments before the topic shifted to Yan Feifan’s plastic surgery observation seminar.

"Feifan, I’ve done a preliminary count. We’ll probably need to send out sixty or seventy invitations..."

Before Wang Chuan could finish, Yan Feifan interrupted, "Director, what about the costs?"

Wang Chuan chuckled. "They’ll cover their own travel and accommodation."

"We’ll just be responsible for the working lunch and one banquet in the evening. That’s it."

Yan Feifan blinked and asked for confirmation, "Director, we don’t have to cover their travel and accommodation at all?"

Wang Chuan grunted in affirmation. "These people aren’t short on cash. They won’t mind a small expense like that."

"Besides, they’re coming to witness a miracle, to observe and learn. The fact that we’re not charging them an entrance fee is generous enough."

Wang Chuan then chuckled slyly. "Feifan, we also need to give the invitation a special design."

"My idea is to include the patient’s detailed examination records, along with your simulated post-operative results."

"I want them to see this invitation as a letter of challenge."

Yu Suye asked with a hint of worry, "Director, won’t that make Feifan seem arrogant and conceited?"

Wang Chuan just waved his hand and said with high spirits, "That’s precisely the effect we’re going for."

"Feifan is young and has this kind of skill. Why can’t he challenge every plastic surgeon in the country?"
