Chapter 34: Cherry’s Reluctance... Tier Two Items Unlock Inside a duplex, Linda placed her phone on the bed beside her.
She glanced up and her eyes flickered with hesitation.
Ultimately, she could only pick the phone back up.
She stared at her daughter’s name listed atop the screen and tried phrasing the wording in her mind, pondering how she would make her daughter agree to join her in having sex with Lucien.
After some time, she took a deep breath, and finally tapped the screen making the call.
It rang for a few seconds before it was picked.
"Hello? Mom?" a voice came from the other end of the phone.
Linda remained silent for a few seconds when her daughter’s voice came again.
"Mom, are you there?"
"Uh, yeah, I am." Linda finally replied.
"You called?"
"Yes. Actually, I needed a favor from you that’s why I called."
"Oh, okay, anything for you mom," Cherry’s voice was calm, and a little emotional.
Linda fell silent.
"Mom? You aren’t saying anything." She said curiously.
"Uh... well... can you have sex with someone?" Linda shut her eyes tight the moment she said the words.
She felt a complex wave of emotions, shame, regret, embarrassment... and a strange... pleasure?
’What?’ although she was mortified at the thought of getting aroused from the situation, her body strangely seemed to appeal to it even more.
"What did you say, mom?" Cherry’s voice on the other end of the phone trembled slightly, as though she couldn’t believe her ears.
"You said you were going to do anything for me, right? I need you to have sex with someone. Is that too much to ask?"
"Too much? Mom? Can you hear yourself?" Cherry’s voice cracked even further as she shouted.
A few noises echoed from the background, before silence returned, it was clear Cherry had exited the location she previously was.
Linda fell silent. She knew her request was too excessive, however, she couldn’t miss out on this opportunity to be with Lucien.
"It’s gonna be just this once, okay? Please?" her tone became soft as she pleaded.
Cherry fell silent.
She could hardly believe it. It all seemed too surreal.
Her own biological mother was asking her to... have sex with someone?
Where did her morality go?
She was just about to reject when her mother’s voice came once more.
"If you reject, then blame yourself if you return home to find my corpse."
Cherry staggered instantly, her mother’s words landing like a blow in her heart.
She couldn’t lose her purity, yet at the same time, she couldn’t lose her mother.
The choice was difficult.
Choose between her purity, or her mother’s life...
Thinking about everything her mother had done for her, Cherry let out a breath as a trickle of tears slipped from the corner of her eyes.
"Alright mom." She said simply and collapsed on the seat beside her as though all the energy in her body had been drained from her the moment she uttered those words.
Finally Linda smiled, feeling accomplished.
"Please return home as soon as possible, in at most 30 minutes."
"Yes mom," Cherry’s reply was cold and emotionless.
"Do you need anything else?" she asked.
"That will be all." Sensing the relief and excitement in her mother’s tone, Cherry felt disgusted and disappointed.
Beep...
The line went dead almost immediately.
As though on cue, a message appeared in Linda’s phone.
It was from ’My World’
This was what she’d used to save Lucien’s name.
The message read, ’I’ll be there in an hour. I don’t want to be disappointed.’
’I promise you won’t...’ Linda quickly typed with a smile on her face.
Tossing the phone to the side, she jumped onto the bed and giggled happily like a little girl who had just received her favorite toy.
