Mother (2)

Nuredus’s heart ached. Persai… how long have you been away from your daughter? For her to grow and be so sweet. Then she suddenly glared at Kael.

Kael jumped at the sight of Nuredus’s glare.

“Yes?”

“Why didn’t you find her sooner, incompetent son?!”

Kael’s jaw dropped, pointing at himself.

“Why is everyone hating on me?”

Nuredus clapped her hands for the servants to step into the waiting room.

“Let’s get ready to head to the temple together… at least, my son did something right for the first time…” she declared.

Kael rolled his eyes and then looked at Valencia. She smiled and locked eyes with him.

“Yes?”

“Did you plot this with your maid?” he whispered curiously.

She gulped and shook her head.

“No… not really?”

He chuckled and kissed her temple. She blushed, covering her head.

“At least, it made you smile,” he chimed.

She flushed and faced away.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about…”

He grinned and held her hand, pulling her out of the residence to the carriage. She frantically looked back and forth.

“But… I haven’t changed,” she argued.

He smirked and looked over his shoulder.

“You don’t need to change anything,” he replied.

“Why not?!”

“Let the entire kingdom know what I did to you…”

Her face turned cherry red as they stepped into the carriage together.

“WHAT! You already let the Royal Family know! We don’t need the entire kingdom to know!” she argued, yanking her hand away.

“But you wanted my mother to know…” he teased.

“It was a joke!”

“Let’s go!” Kael said.

He hugged her over his shoulder, dragging her into the carriage.

Once the carriage started moving, Valencia covered her face. He smiled and leaned his head against her.

“It’s not that bad… at least, let’s make use of what your maid planned on doing,” he added.

She flushed behind her palms.

“I get it… don’t need to talk about it anymore,” she replied. He chuckled and shoved his face through her fingers. He kissed her cheek. She instantly pushed his face away. “What are you doing? There are eyes everywhere!”

He laughed and grabbed her hand after resting his head on her lap. He placed their hands on his chest and sighed.

“Let me know when we are at the temple… actually, let me sleep until I wake up.”

Meanwhile, at the temple, the Royal Family entered the sanctum. Gerald glanced over at a black hooded cape figure. The figure nodded before turning away to hide behind the pillars.

Lucentis turned to Gerald.

“Now we wait…”

“Yes, Father. I got everything under control,” Gerald responded, smiling.
