c3620: Terms Of Conversation

At this moment, many people were wondering if the High Seraph had refrained from attacking Boundless because he had long been aware of Lu Yin’s true power. Could even the High Seraph lack the confidence to defeat Lu Yin? Was that why he had preemptively stopped the invasion of the Tianyuan Megaverse?

Those suspicions seemed to be gaining credibility, and even Rong Xiang was starting to believe them.

While speaking to Lu Yin, the man had adopted the most humble demeanor that he could conceive of. Lu Yin was different from other Seraphs; he was lawless and ignored all rules.

Lu Yin casually grunted. "You’re pretty eloquent. Keep going."

Rong Xiang froze briefly, his mind racing as he searched for flattering words that he had heard others use in the past. Awkwardly, he tried, "Seraph Lu’s... um... power is as vast as the boundless megaverse. Immea... immeasurable, and also like..."

"Enough. Too sloppy and unoriginal," Lu Yin interrupted, unimpressed.

Rong Xiang immediately apologized. Mentally, he resolved to gather some experts in flattery as soon as he returned home. This was something he needed to train in.

Does Seraph Lu enjoy listening to flattery?

Many powerful individuals enjoyed such things, but did someone at Seraph Lu’s level even need to hear flattery? Suddenly, Rong Xian was reminded of Old Tao; that old fox had mastered the art. Yes, Seraph Lu must already be used to hearing flattery from him. If someone could do it better, would it be possible to replace Old Tao?

Rong Xiang felt pathetic. He, the vice president of the Daquan Domain’s Chamber of Commerce, a powerful Ortuser, was thinking about how he could master the art of flattery. Even worse, he found the idea quite tempting.

"Lord Seraph Lu, all of our profits from acting as a bookkeeper will be sent to Boundless. The Chamber of Commerce is honored to be able to serve you," Rong Xiang continued.

Lu Yin arched a brow. "All of the profits? Wasn't the agreement for just sixty percent?"

Rong Xiang smiled. "All of them. Consider this a token of our sincerity."

Lu Yin chuckled. "Not bad. I accept. You’re definitely more efficient than Yi Shang."

"Thank you for your praise, my lord," Rong Xiang hurried to reply. The submissive tone felt all too natural. He had often spoken in such a tone when speaking to Yi Shang before becoming an Ortuser. After that last breakthrough, even someone like Yi Shang had to show Rong Xiang a measure of respect, so it had been a long, long time since he had adopted such servility.

"The Sima Chamber of Commerce and the Hundred Leaf Trade Association both appreciate your care," Lu Yin mentioned casually.

Rong Xiang carefully replied, "Such is nothing more than my duty. Please don’t worry, Lord Seraph Lu."

Lu Yin looked back at the man. "If you find any traces of Yi Shang, feel free to inform me. If you don't want to, that’s also fine."

Rong Xiang’s face twitched slightly. He had no idea how to properly respond to such a comment.

Lu Yin chuckled and touched Rong Xiang’s shoulder.

Rong Xiang did not dare move out of the way. It was the same gesture yet again... Was this really what had led to President Yi Shang being found?

"Go on back."

Rong Xiang let out a breath of relief as he bowed again. "Understood. I’ll take my leave now."

Lu Yin nodded.

Rong Xiang remained respectful as he left.

The Spirit Origin realm, which the Tianyuan Megaverse called the Origin realm, had once been regarded as an unattainable level. Even Progenitor Xi had carved a monument in the Mirari Realm to commemorate the achievement.

Despite that, such powerhouses currently had to show total deference to Lu Yin. Such was reality for cultivators. Such was life.

Old Yu arrived from a different direction, his expression complicated as he gazed at Lu Yin.

Lu Yin turned to the old man, a hint of smile playing at his lips.

"Congratulations, Lord Lu," Old Yu said.

Lu Yin’s smile grew ambiguous. "It was fine. Just a bit tiring."

Old Yu sighed. "You truly do possess the strength needed to challenge the High Seraph. I am impressed."

Lu Yin shrugged in an unconcerned manner. "That doesn't stop an old fox like you from scheming against me again and again."

Old Yu chuckled. "At your level, Lord Lu, there are certain matters that are not worth concerning yourself with."

Lu Yin's expression suddenly turned serious. "I am concerned about a great deal."

Old Yu had never known how to properly communicate with Lu Yin. During their very first meeting, the old man had realized that it was incredibly difficult to hold a conversation with Lu Yin. However, as Lu Yin’s victories piled up and his reputation for being invincible had grown, things had only grown worse. Lu Yin currently gave off a feeling of having separated himself from the masses. It was an arrogance that indicated that he simply did not care about what others had to say.

Old Yu was the lord of the Wisdom Domain; when had he ever been ignored in such a manner?

Still, the old man had no choice but to try to change the subject. "Lord Lu, when did you learn the Nine Heavens Transformation?"

Lu Yin clasped his hands behind his back. "Just now."

"Just now?" Old Yu grew puzzled.

Lu Yin replied, "I saw Emperor Wu use it and learned it from him. I have an innate gift that allows me to master any battle technique or cultivation method just by seeing it."

Old Yu was left speechless. "To use the Nine Heavens Transformation, one must split apart the Nine Heavens."

"Is that difficult? You just need to do that for yourself," Lu Yin casually responded.

Old Yu was assaulted by a terrible headache. He was well aware that Lu Yin was lying. After all, earlier, he had claimed to have learned about the Nine Heavens Transformation from Old Yu himself. Lu Yin was clearly skilled in being able to quickly reply with a clever, deflective answer.

Old Yu had already noticed that Lu Yin had split apart the Nine Heavens with a different method than Emperor Wu.

Emperor Wu had split apart the Nine Heavens in the standard manner, but what about Lu Yin? He had used his consciousness as the foundation. That was not something that could be accomplished with just a day or two, nor was it an alternative that could be easily arrived at.

Not even the High Seraph had done such a thing, and yet Lord Lu had. There was no way that Lu Yin had learned the Nine Heavens Transformation during the few days of fighting against Emperor Wu.

As for precisely how long it had taken him, no one had any idea.

If Emperor Wu had not used the Nine Heavens Transformation, it would still be a complete secret that Lu Yin had obtained the technique.

The Nine Heavens Transformation was no ordinary battle technique. Throughout the entire Spirit Nidus, only the High Seraph and Yu Shan had ever learned the technique, and Yu Shan had directly learned it directly from the High Seraph himself. If the High Seraph had not helped him split apart the Nine Heavens, Yu Shan would have never been able to learn it.
