Old Tao was rendered speechless. How could anyone be so verbally caustic? On top of that, even the man’s movements seemed sleazy, and his appearance was always unkempt. He was a complete disgrace.
Lu Yin pursed his lips. He suddenly found himself missing Big Sis. Without her around, Ce Wangtian had completely let himself go. Things had gotten so bad that even Lu Yin found Ce Wangtian unbearable.
The mustachioed man trembled with rage. This insult could not be allowed to pass uncontested, no matter how extraordinary Boundless’s background might be. If he ignored such a thing, how could he continue to cultivate in the Spirit Nidus?
"Who are you? You’ve gone too far! Come out and face me in a duel to the death!"
Ce Wangtian rolled his eyes and simply ignored the man as Boundless continued on.
The mustachioed man swung his sword. There was no way he could endure such humiliation. If he did not pursue this matter, he might as well accept the name Cangu Yiguaizhang.
The man was a Spirit Ancestor, and he was second only to the Cleaved Valley’s master. His slash seemed to tear through the universe, only for Boundless to fill the space.
Lu Yin glanced over. Not bad. The man’s swordsmanship was quite decent. It was no wonder why he was called Yijian.
However, it was only quite decent and barely worth Lu Yin’s notice.
Ce Wangtian casually waved a hand, overturning the universe itself and sending the mustachioed man flying. As he went tumbling away, his sword snapped as well.
This overwhelming display of power sent chills down the spines of those watching. Grave expressions appeared on many faces, as there was no doubt that a sequence powerhouse had taken action. However, none of them could determine which sequence technique the expert had cultivated.
The mustachioed man coughed up blood before staring blankly at his broken sword that was drifting away. His face grew deathly pale as he looked back at Boundless.
"Cangu Yijian, if you don’t get revenge for this, you’re no man! Go get your Cleaved Valley’s master!" someone urged.
"Exactly! Hurry up! Whoever’s humiliated you has insulted the Cleaved Valley! If you let this go, who will respect Cleaved Valley in the future?"
"Your Valley Master is famous for his pride, after all."
"Hurry up!"
The man remained standing where he was, looking rather uncertain.
Many nearby people called out, urging him to contact the Cleaved Valley’s master, believing that only a sequence powerhouse could hope to uncover the strength of those aboard Boundless.
Of course, there were already sequence powerhouses present, but none of them wanted to take that risk themselves. What if they offended Boundless? Besides, why should they fight on someone else’s behalf?
"Boundless… is not from the Spirit Nidus," the mustachioed man announced in a hoarse voice.
Those who heard him grew confused. "What does that mean? Does it not belong to the Spirit Nidus? Could that ship have been fighting in the Consciousness Megaverse this whole time?"
"That’s possible. It would also explain why it’s so large. It must have been part of the initial vanguard which was sent to the Consciousness Megaverse. It must be ancient."
"Could there be a Seraph on board?"
"That shouldn’t be. Wait—didn’t Seraph Yuan Qi leave a long time ago? Could he be back?"
"Seraph Yuan Qi went to the Tianyuan Megaverse. How could he have returned? That journey is incredibly difficult. Just crossing the Aevum Inch one way would take at least 10,000 years."
"Maybe he left 10,000 years ago?"
The mustachioed man then shouted loudly while pointing at Boundless, his face still pale. "There’s someone on Boundless with an aura that doesn’t belong to the Spirit Nidus! There’s more than one of them at that! That ship is absolutely not from this megaverse."
People were shocked by that claim. "Are you serious? Cangu Yijian, you’re not lying to us, are you?"
"Are you trying to get us to attack for you?"
"Cangu Yijian, who knew that you were so scheming!"
The mustachioed man started to panic. "I swear on my life that there is an aura that absolutely does not belong to the Spirit Nidus! Also, there’s more than one of them!"
Some people started to believe his claims, but others formed alternate theories.
"It could be a group of conscients that are defecting to our Spirit Nidus."
"That would make sense. Other than the Spirit Nidus and the Consciousness Megaverse, I can’t think of any other place for outsiders to come from. If there were, the Ascendant Hall would have found them long ago."
"I heard that the defenders at the boundary rotated recently. Do you think there could be a connection?"
"Right, maybe people at the boundary noticed something, so the High Seraph transferred them to the Consciousness Megaverse to prevent them from leaking this secret. Boundless did come from the direction of the boundary, didn’t it?"
"Shh, stop talking! The more you know, the more trouble you’ll end up in! Do you want to be sent to the Consciousness Megaverse too?"
"Definitely not!"
"Me neither."
"Cangu Yijian, good luck!"
The mustachioed man had considered this possibility as well, and his face grew even paler. This was bad. If these suspicions were correct, then the High Seraph might send Cangu Yijian to the Consciousness Megaverse as well. He absolutely did not want that to happen. He had just returned from that megaverse just a few thousand years earlier.
Aboard Boundless, Lu Yin grew puzzled. Their auras as outsiders had already been leaked, so why was there no reaction?
Ce Wangtian had been ordered to deliberately leak a bit of his aura, and the Progenitor had chosen Cangu Yijian as his target to stir up trouble when the aura was released. Even so, no one watching had stepped forward to question the battleship.
Time passed, and Boundless continued on towards the Hundred Grasses Domain.
It took a bit of time, but Lu Yin eventually figured things out.
People were overthinking things. The aura of an outsider could easily be attributed to conscients. On top of that, Boundless had just left the boundary, and the defenders had rotated at the High Seraph’s direct command. Everything lined up a bit too perfectly, which had led people to believe that Boundless was connected to the High Seraph. For this reason, no one dared to challenge the battleship.
No one else requested an audience. People merely watched Boundless
, both openly and from the shadows.
This would not do. Lu Yin wanted to stir up a chaotic wave that would force his unresolved karma to reveal itself, but without antagonizing the entire Spirit Nidus and having them group up against him. He needed to come up with a plan.
A few days later, Lu Yin looked at a massive banner and laughed. "Hang it up just as it is."
