In particular, Greater Sancte Green Lotus was too distinctive. The moment the power of karma appeared, Obscura would immediately know who was stirring up trouble.
Jiang Feng did not argue. Whether he went or not made little difference to him, and since Mister Mu was more suitable, it was naturally better for him to go.
Jiang Feng was also happy to stay behind, guarding the Tianyuan.
“Then now is the time to discuss terms with that little toad,” Greater Sancte Blood Tower stated.
Lu Yin immediately replied, “No terms.”
Blood Tower froze. “Freely giving help?”
Lu Yin shrugged. “We don’t really have a choice this time. Ancestor Shan knows about us humans, and that toad is already biased against us. If we state conditions now, we will only be able to gain limited benefits. But if we can save the Seven-Treasure Anuras, the favor that we earn will be enough for us to use for a long time.”
Blood Tower was impressed. “Lu Yin, your mind is truly sharp. It would be a pity not to pass it down.”
Lu Yin was speechless. Why did it always seem like Greater Sancte Blood Tower’s words hovered between a compliment and an insult?
“Tell the truth. You already have another worry you haven’t mentioned, don’t you?” Jiang Feng spoke up.
Lu Yin looked over at the man, clearly hesitating.
“Then I will say it,” Jiang Feng said, “Since the Seven-Treasure Anuras sent Little Eighteen to us, they have likely already shared the location of our human megaverses. While the Blacklight Civilization might not have our coordinates just yet, once the Seven-Treasure Anuras are in true danger, their enemies will most likely learn about us.”
Greater Sancte Blood Tower flew into a rage. “How dare they!”
Greater Sancte Awe Gate’s gaze turned icy. “Lu Yin, how did the Seven-Treasure Anuras force you to spar with their Little Eighteen back then?”
Lu Yin had not yet shared that particular story with Mister Mu and Uncle Jiang, so he quickly recounted the tale.
Jiang Feng clasped his hands behind his back. “So my guess was right. These Seven-Treasure Anuras are despicable. They come here looking like they are begging us, but they are also threatening us.”
Mister Mu frowned. “It’s a threat that may or may not exist. If it were explicitly stated, it would be one thing, but this sort of unspoken threat is the most vile. It leaves you uncertain of whether there is a threat at all.”
Lu Yin’s voice dropped low. “Regardless of whether Little Eighteen came here with a threat or not, we need to go anyway. We already agreed to it.”
After that, Greater Sancte Green Lotus gave Lu Yin another transmutation disc, to ensure the young man’s safety to the greatest degree.
It was not easy for Green Lotus to forge a transmutation disc. Doing so was essentially disturbing the very foundation of his Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm. Unfortunately, there was no other choice; when it had to be done, there were no alternative options. Greater Sancte Green Lotus even felt the need to strengthen his own karma. Otherwise, there would not be enough for Lu Yin to draw upon.
Greater Sancte Blood Tower also gave Lu Yin a Blood Tower, which might also be able to help him.
“Time is of the essence. This junior will go to the Seven-Treasure Anuras with my master,” Lu Yin announced. With that, he and Mister Mu vanished, instantly appearing outside the Sea of Karma beside Astral Anura and Little Eighteen. Grabbing the toads, Lu Yin vanished yet again. When they reappeared, they were already in the endless darkness of the Aevum Inch, and the Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm was only faintly visible behind them.
It was a simple matter to return to the Seven-Treasure Anuras’ territory; during his first journey to the seven-colored land with the Immortal Lord, he had scattered pathfinding stones along the way. Some of the consciousness that he had attached to those stones had dissipated over time, but some still remained.
Pathfinding stones were essentially consumables. Lu Yin had merely done his best not to expend the consciousness in the stones, but it would still fade over time.
He looked ahead. “Master, I will need you to cover a stretch of distance.”
Mister Mu immediately carried Lu Yin and the others forward.
Given Lu Yin’s strength, he was able to move through the Aevum Inch at nearly the same speed as an Immortal. That was also how Little Eighteen had managed to take Astral Anura to find the human civilization.
However, Lu Yin needed to say a few things to Little Eighteen.
The toad looked utterly bewildered. They had been dragged out of the human megaverse without knowing anything. Teleportation was far too useful an ability.
“Seventh Bro, you are going to help us, right?” Astral Anura asked excitedly.
Lu Yin reached out and pressed a hand down upon Astral Anura’s head, forcing him to remain silent. With that, Lu Yin turned to look at Little Eighteen. “Although your Seven-Treasure Anuras had no intention of ever interacting with us humans again, this child, Astral Anura, is a friend of ours. He followed me for a long time, and he also calls me Seventh Bro. Because of him, I will handle this matter for you.”
Astral Anura was moved. “Seventh Bro...”
Little Eighteen stared at Lu Yin in a daze. They had never expected the human civilization to actually offer to help.
Little Eighteen had not actually held any hope. In the Aevum Inch, civilizations met each other with war, not negotiations. Even so, there was still a civilization willing to save their people.
The toad looked at Astral Anura. The brat had not lied. He really did have the backing of the human civilization. It was no wonder that he had been sent along as well.
Moreover, the humans proved to be far better than what their ancestor had described.
“However, there is one point that I need to make clear.”
Astral Anura felt helpless. Here come the terms. Now we’ll see the real Seventh Bro.
The human civilization stood behind him? Others might believe it, but Astral Anura never had. It was nothing more than a matter of shared interests. Without the Seven-Treasure Anuras, he was just a toad in human civilization. He could live freely, but he had no influence. After learning about the Seven-Treasure Anuras, in order to gain a bit of standing within the clan, Astral Anura had presented himself as having close ties to the human civilization.
Astral Anura was far too familiar with Lu Yin. If the young human chose to aid the Seven-Treasure Anuras, he must have already weighed all of the pros and cons.
Little Eighteen spoke in a low voice. “Speak, human.”
Lu Yin’s expression grew solemn. “Our human civilization will help you, but we absolutely cannot risk our entire civilization for your sake. For that reason, only me and my master will be taking action.”
Little Eighteen looked at Mister Mu. The man was clearly an Immortal.
The toad had seen five Immortals while visiting the human civilization. Even if only one came to help, Lu Yin’s words were still clearly understood.
The Seven-Treasure Anuras might have terrible personalities, but they were not stupid.
Why should the humans risk everything to save them?
“I understand.”
Lu Yin nodded. Little Eighteen was not making a senseless fuss. It was good that they understood.
“And also, you must remember that you are not receiving help from our human civilization.”
Little Eighteen froze. What does that mean?
