c3530: Trump Cards

Behind Lu Yin, Yi Nan also emerged from Dire End. His long hair was disheveled, and he looked completely miserable. He looked up, and his body transformed into a blade that swung, slicing across the sky.

With his right hand, Lu Yin swept a sword across, while with his left, he threw a palm strike at Mr. Li.

There was a bang, and Lu Yin’s sword slash was destroyed by Yi Nan’s blade, but the Dukkhan’s attack was also broken.

On his other side, Lu Yin threw a Linked Palm that used the blade qi of Yi Nan’s attack against Mr. Li's Wild Calligraphy of Sword and Grass: Undying Stroke. The grass character was broken, yet Lu Yin’s palm was still cut.

Mr. Li was also a formidable Dukkhan, though he was considerably weaker than monsters like Yi Nan and Old Salamander. Still, he was able to threaten Lu Yin.

Yi Nan was breathing heavily as he stared at Lu Yin with unprecedented seriousness and wariness in his eyes.

On the opposite side of Lu Yin, there was an unhappy look on Mr. Li's face. He really had not wanted to attack the Third Boss, but Old Yu had said that it was necessary to kill Lu Yin during this battle. The young man could not be controlled in any way, and Old Yu had said that he would personally intervene. Mr. Li had been given no choice but to act.

He and Yi Nan were unable to defeat Lu Yin even when working together.

Why hasn't Old Yu stepped in yet?

Lu Yin looked down at the blood dripping from his palm, and then he looked back up to give Mr. Li a cold smile. "So, in the end, the Wisdom Domain sent you to me."

Mr. Li’s eyes narrowed. "You are too arrogant. It’s only been a short time since the battle at the Umbral Deep. After fighting so many battles, you must have reached your limit."

Lu Yin barked a laugh. "While I do have limits, unfortunately, you two pieces of trash can't push me that far."

He then violently unleashed his consciousness, which erupted and formed two large Skyshearer Millstones that pressed upon both Yi Nan and Mr. Li.

At this moment, neither of the two were using any battle techniques. They were simply enduring the consciousness attack while counterattacking in an attempt to buy time.

There was a silent agreement between the two Dukkhans. Then intended to stall in order to force Lu Yin to his limit. In particular, Mr. Li was hoping to wait until Lu Yin revealed some flaw so that Old Yu would have a chance to attack.

As for being attacked by Lu Yin's consciousness, while his consciousness had indeed reached the Universe realm, both Yi Nan and Mr. Li had fought in the Consciousness Megaverse and were no strangers to fighting against consciousness techniques. Given their strength, they had faced off against the Thirteen Luminaries before. If Lu Yin were to use the full strength of his consciousness on just one of them, he might be able to suppress and make it difficult for them to counterattack, but when targeting both men at once, they were able to endure the pressure.

Lu Yin understood this, and he had no intention of using his consciousness to end the fight. He was also waiting for Old Yu to make a move.

Was the old man truly doing to abandon Mr. Li? Or was he using this battle as a pretext to let the Wisdom Domain intervene in the fight?

While Lu Yin had announced that he would revisit the Wisdom Domain after dealing with the Phantom Reach, if he followed through on that threat, the entire Spirit Nidus would likely rise up to destroy him.

Threatening to carve on the wall of the Apex Palace had been an insult towards the Ascendant Hall and the High Seraph, but many people would be pleased to see it happen.

Attacking the Wisdom Domain was completely different. No matter how one looked at things, the Wisdom Domain led a considerable number of the Spirit Nidus’s powerhouses who were dissatisfied with the High Seraph.

Mr. Li had been quite accurate. With the number of consecutive battles that Lu Yin had fought, he was quite exhausted. Even he had his limits.

He had made some preparations before fighting at the Umbral Deep, but he had not been forced to use them yet.

Lu Yin was fighting against two opponents on his own, attacking both Yi Nan and Mr. Li while searching for their weaknesses.

Time rolled on. Yi Nan and Mr. Li were pushed further and further to the limit, struggling to endure. Yi Nan was worse off, as he had already been injured by Lu Yin and had also suffered from his own Dire End technique. Dragging things out would not be favorable for him.

He had wanted to escape for some time, but the fact that Mr. Li had joined the fight was a sign of the Wisdom Domain’s position on the matter. They would undoubtedly appear, and that forced Yi Nan to stay.

Lu Yin deliberately revealed some openings, but Old Yu still did not take action. After that, Lu Yin lost interest in waiting any longer. One hand used his Setting Sun while his other manipulated his consciousness. The two attacks targeted the two Dukkhans simultaneously.

Yi Nan's face became deathly pale as he steadily retreated.

Mr. Li's mind went blank, and he almost collapsed.

When will Old Yu finally do something?

He was suddenly reminded of something that Lu Yin had just said. Was it possible that the Wisdom Domain had abandoned Mr. Li? No, that was impossible. After all, he was a powerful Dukkhan! Just how many peers did he have in the entire Spirit Nidus? The Wisdom Domain still needed him to protect their two heirs.

Yi Nan swung his bone hand at Lu Yin, attacking with manifested thought while forcing himself to endure the agony of Dire End yet again. They would have another mental clash.

Lu Yin frowned. Is he still coming?

Yi Nan pressed forward with his manifested thought attack, ignoring the fact that his Dire End was being eroded away. All he wanted to do was create an opening for Mr. Li to use.

Given the situation, Lightstream flickered around Lu Yin's body, and time was reversed by one second. He gently flicked his finger, and a blast of wind struck the bone hand, splitting it into two.

Yi Nan coughed up blood. "Now!"

Mr. Li looked over to see Lu Yin suddenly clutching at his heart, practically collapsed on the ground with blood leaking from the corner of his mouth.

What is this? Life's Requiem?

Yi Nan had cultivated the sixth sequence technique, Life's Requiem, and he had created a poison that targeted Lu Yin at this precise moment in time.

Lu Yin had just used Lightstream to reverse time by a second, and from Yi Nan's perspective, this meant that Lu Yin would suffer the poison of Life's Requiem at the same time that Mr. Li attacked.

Mr. Li's eyes suddenly flared, and a tremendous number of sequence particles surged. Not in this battle or any of his earlier confrontations with Lu Yin had the man ever used this many sequence particles.

The surging flood of sequence particles churned like a vast lake. Mr. Li soared into the air, gazing down at Lu Yin. As he raised his hand, all of those sequence particles instantly gathered at the tips of his two fingers. When those fingers descended, a massive, indistinct figure appeared behind him—a manifestation of the countless years that he had spent cultivating the Second Image sequence technique.

Mr. Li’s form was magnified dozens of times over, towering like a deity. With his index and middle fingers extended, he pointed straight at Lu Yin. "Heavenly Pool: Second Image of Divine Might."

While the man had not cultivated the Second Symbol to the level of achieving a Transcended Sequence, he was approaching that level.

This was also his greatest trump card. It was something that not even the Wisdom Domain knew about.

Lu Yin was still squatting on the ground. He let out a breath. In the end, he had to use it.

Some of his trump cards could be exposed, though others could not.

He released his inner universe and used Verdant Eternity. In the face of Mr. Li's approaching finger, Lu Yin saw mountains and waters appear.

Mountain after mountain appeared, as well as countless streams running down them. It was the Tomb of Mountains and Streams.

Mr. Li and Lu Yin seemed to be separated by countless mountains and streams. The finger attack alone shattered all of the mountains and streams, but the Dukkhan did not show any sign of relaxing. He had succeeded too easily.
