c3485: Destined To Become A Monster

Lu Yin looked at the couple in surprise. "Is that really necessary?"

Tian Ya nodded. "We have lived our lives with integrity and have never resorted to underhanded actions. If we hadn't learned about your consciousness, then given your strength, you would have been able to attack us with it once. Even if we are able to endure it, we have just gained an unfair advantage. If we win, it won’t be an honorable victory."

Lu Yin clasped his hands behind his back. "You're overthinking things. I never had any intention of using my consciousness against you."

"Are you underestimating us?" Hu Wu's eyes turned cold.

Lu Yin shrugged. "While I might admire your character, the two of you aren’t strong enough yet for me to need to use my consciousness."

Hu Wu laughed, but her smile was frigid. "Tian Ya, we're being underestimated, terribly underestimated."

Tian Ya sighed. "After so many years, such an exceptional individual has risen from the younger generation. But, Third Boss, you're very arrogant."

Lu Yin shook his head. "I haven’t shown you my arrogance. You haven’t seen true arrogance yet."

"In that case, we won't hold back." Even Tian Ya was getting angry. His calm personality did not mean that he had no temper at all.

Lu Yin's continuously arrogant comments had finally angered the man.

The sound of flute music continued to rise, and the guqin’s notes grew increasingly crisp.

As Lu Yin listened to the sound of the flute, he seemed to see Mister Mu.

Master, are you alright?

While it had not been long since the two had parted, they were now in two different megaverses, and Lu Yin had no guarantee that he would survive long enough to return home.

Lu Yin closed his eyes and quietly listened.

These two indeed deserved his respect.

Their spiritual force raged like a storm, relentlessly bombarding Lu Yin.

Above the landmass, the crowd retreated further and further. The spiritual force was a monstrous entity. When the guqin and the flute played together, the couple’s spiritual force was powerful enough to attack the Third Boss. Just like the battle of consciousness, people did not dare to approach this battle.

Lu Yin remained unmoved. He stood in place, his hands clasped behind his back and his eyes closed.

No matter how intensely the guqin and flute played together or how violent the spiritual force raged, nothing could shake Lu Yin.

Hu Wu and Tian Ya were both shocked. How was this possible?

Their opponent had a Dukkhan-level consciousness, but was it even possible for a person to also cultivate their spiritual force to the same level?

Such a person should not exist.

Lu Yin had never slacked off when it came to cultivating his spiritual force. While his spiritual force had not reached the Origin realm, let alone the Dukkhan level, when he used the Origin Progenitor’s Sutra, even Progenitor Xi would struggle to affect Lu Yin’s spiritual force.

Progenitor Xi had once been known as Qingluo Jiantian, and her spiritual force and green sword qi had once forced the entire Lu family to take a step back. This had led Lu Yuan, the family’s founding ancestor, to ask the Origin Progenitor for help. That had led to the Origin Sutra, which had helped the Lu family strengthen their weak spiritual force.

Not only had Lu Yin continuously recited the Origin Progenitor’s Sutra, but he had also learned True God’s Natural Art, which also strongly relied upon spiritual force. Learning that art had caused Lu Yin’s spiritual force to transform. He did not even know when the transformation had occurred.

He might not have reached the same level of spiritual force as Progenitor Xi, but standing up to that level of power was no issue.

Both Hu Wu and Tian Ya were Ortusers, and their spiritual force was close to Progenitor Xi’s level. Combined, their spiritual force attack was even more powerful than Progenitor Xi’s Qingluo Intent. But it was still insufficient to shake Lu Yin’s spiritual force.

At worst, his face grew a bit pale.

The guqin and flute stopped playing.

The peach blossoms and emerald waves disappeared.

Tian Ya sighed. "It's useless."

Hu Wu was blown away. Did such a person really exist? His consciousness was at the Dukkhan level, and his spiritual force was nearly equal to their own. Just how had this man cultivated?

No one could find an answer to that question.

Old Tao could not make sense of Lu Yin, and Palace Master Yao was even more confused by the man.

How did the Third Boss have such a powerful spiritual force?

Lu Yin opened his eyes. "Are you done?"

Tian Ya was quite impressed. "Your strength is quite admirable."

Lu Yin looked at the couple before him. "If that’s all you have, then I’m rather disappointed."

This time, neither Hu Wu nor Tian Ya grew upset. Lu Yin had every right to act so arrogantly.

"Why didn’t you bother attacking?"

Lu Yin replied, "If I attack, this will be over."

"Can you ever speak without saying something arrogant?" Hu Wu asked in irritation.

Lu Yin did not believe that the two’s strength was even close to as limited as what they had revealed so far. While it was true that their combined strength was impressive, it had not been enough to do anything to him, even if he had to use his full efforts to protect himself from their attack. The thing was, even together, the couple were not nearly as much of a threat as the Worryless Elder.

At least, that was from Lu Yin’s perspective.

As far as others were concerned, Lu Yin was already an absolute monster.

He had already defeated Qian and the Worryless Elder. While neither of those victories had been overly shocking, the fact that Lu Yin was able to ignore Hu Wu and Tian Ya’s spiritual force attack was truly shocking.

He had ignored their spiritual force in the same way that he had ignored Wu Wei’s consciousness.

Were Hu Wu and Tian Ya weak? Of course not. When they used their spiritual force battle technique, how many in the entire Spirit Nidus could stand up to them?

In the past, Bao Qi had been forced to wait until after he acquired the Cauldron Bell to defeat Hu Wu and Tian Ya.
