"What? Become one of the Seven Seraphs? Me?" Lu Yin was surprised.
Old Tao replied, "That's the current rumor."
Lu Yin chuckled. "Me, becoming one of the Seven Seraphs? I'm more likely to storm the Apex Palace."
Palace Master Yao looked at Lu Yin, a glimmer in her eyes. "The High Seraph and the Seven Seraphs rule the Spirit Nidus. Theoretically, the High Seraph and the Seven Seraphs collectively determine the path of the Spirit Nidus. While the Fated One has the final say, since they never intervene, the combination of the High Seraph’s immense power and his establishment of Heavenspire, which is home to many experts, has created the illusion that the High Seraph alone rules the Spirit Nidus.
"But in truth, as long as there is an available position, anyone can compete to become a Seraph."
Lu Yin arched a brow. "Even someone like me who’s from the Tianyuan Megaverse?"
Old Tao answered confidently. "As long as the other six Seraphs agree, yes."
Lu Yin turned to Palace Master Yao, and the woman nodded. There was an indecipherable expression on her stunning face. "It’s true. If the High Seraph objects, the position can remain empty for a time, but not for long. The Day of Offering is fast approaching, and on that day, the High Seraph must lead the Seven Seraphs in a ritual.
"If you can ensure that no one will dare to fight you for the title, you will become a Seraph."
Lu Yin was quite tempted. Becoming a Seraph? He had honestly never considered such a possibility before.
How could someone from the Tianyuan Megaverse possibly become a Seraph?
At the moment, given the pressure of the approaching Day of Offering, was all that Lu Yin needed to do to succeed simply ensure that no one else could claim the title?
"Are you sure that the Day of Offering will force the High Seraph to accept me? What if he insists on giving the title to someone else?" Lu Yin asked.
Palace Master Yao’s lips curled up into a smile. This was the first time Lu Yin had seen the woman smile. "Then fight them. Seraphs cannot know defeat. Once defeated, they are no longer a Seraph. A defeated Seraph isn’t qualified to participate in the Day of Offering. The entire Spirit Nidus knows this."
Lu Yin’s eyes lit up as he stared off into the distance.
Seraph, Seraph... Will I really become a Seraph?
The High Seraph had the privilege of being allowed to enter the deepest part of the Apex Palace in order to seek an audience with the megaverse’s invincible being.
The Seven Seraphs had the opportunity to witness an extraordinary spectacle on the Day of Offering.
The High Seraph was able to mobilize all of the megaverse’s resources, including those that belonged to the seven major powers.
The Seraphs were an indispensable aspect of the Spirit Nidus’s culture, as this title gave one the highest authority.
Yuan Qi knew about the secret of the Lesser Spirit Megaverse, but not even the High Seraph was able to kill the man, and that was solely because Yuan Qi was a Seraph.
Taking on the title of Seraph seemed like it would offer excellent protection.
Old Tao respectfully said, "Third Boss, if you become a Seraph, you might also be able to influence the Spirit Nidus's attitude towards the Tianyuan Megaverse."
A simple comment served as a flash of inspiration, and Lu Yin’s mind started racing.
"The only complication is that the Grandverse Manor has broken multiple restrictions, which has placed us against the entire Spirit Nidus," Old Tao continued awkwardly.
Lu Yin dismissed the man’s hesitation. "Broken restrictions? Whose restrictions? The High Seraph's? I really don’t care about him. His rules mean nothing to me. My rules are the true restrictions. My rules are law.
"Find out who else intends to compete for the title of Seraph. I’m going to go pay them a visit."
Old Tao cautiously asked, "What about carving on the Apex Palace?"
"Not right now," Lu Yin replied.
If he was genuinely going to compete for the title of Seraph, then doing something to offend the entire megaverse like carving a name on the Apex Palace should wait.
How could he possibly undermine the Spirit Nidus more than by becoming a Seraph? Succeeding would also infuriate the High Seraph.
Old Tao gave a sigh of relief. It was good that they were not going. It was very good.
Palace Master Yao also visibly relaxed.
Even Cai Keqing and Astral Anura sighed in relief.
Just the thought of Lu Yin trying to carve a name onto the Apex Palace was enough to send chills down their spines. That was where the High Seraph resided, and there was no doubt that the High Seraph would emerge to stop Lu Yin.
They had encountered a number of powerful experts after leaving the Grandverse Manor. None of Lu Yin’s opponents had been easy to deal with.
There was also no doubt that the Apex Palace would be more formidable than any other opponent.
"Who’s next?" Lu Yin asked.
Old Tao hesitated briefly before answering, "Hu Wu and Tian Ya."
Palace Master Yao was taken aback. "Hu Wu and Tian Ya?"
Even Cai Keqing gave Old Tao a look of astonishment.
Lu Yin grew curious. "Is that a name?"
Old Tao carefully explained, "It’s the names of two people: Hu Wu and Tian Ya.
"They’re a married couple, but for some reason, despite hating each other, they remain inseparable. They also participated in the competition when Bao Qi became a Seraph. They are a far greater threat than Qian. If the two of them hadn’t started fighting each other in the middle of the competition, Bao Qi might not have become a Seraph."
Lu Yin was intrigued. "Are they that strong?"
Palace Master Yao’s expression turned serious. "They are very powerful. I can handle one of them on my own, but if they join forces, I am absolutely no match for them."
Lu Yin had already moved past the idea of Palace Master Yao being the strongest cultivator beneath the Seven Seraphs. He had simply encountered too many powerful individuals after arriving in the Spirit Nidus. Both Qian and the Worryless Elder had been incredibly difficult to deal with.
While Palace Master Yao was still not weak, when compared to experts at that level, she was even close to being the most powerful cultivator beneath the Seven Seraphs.
Old Tao continued, "If the two of them truly work together without reservation, they can be regarded as the strongest beneath the Seraphs. As a pair, of course.
"Third Boss, you cannot underestimate them at all. It’s widely acknowledged that the best way to deal with that couple is to sow a bit of discord so they are unable to truly cooperate with each other."
