How can Sword Control Skill let the sword fly such a distance?
At the same time, in the deep forest thirty miles away, two men and two women were galloping on scaled steeds into the night. All four wore similar clothing, likely from the same faction.
The four looked fairly young, but they weren’t lacking in power, each having opened their first Meridian Gate. In East Lake, they were among the higher echelon. Normally, they should be composed in this dark night.
But they were not.
The four wore faces of fear, and the horses beneath them were desperately racing, eyes wide in terror.
Because behind them, a pack of black panthers with glowing red eyes were chasing them, along with various demons. The levels of strength varied, with only a few reaching Profound Realm among them. Yet, their number was overwhelmingly vast, a dense swarm certainly numbering in the dozens.
The four and their horses, in comparison, were exceedingly small.
A race between horses and panthers; being caught was only a matter of time.
The distress on the four’s faces stemmed from this fact.
"Run faster! Run faster!"
The woman at the rear was on the brink of tears, continuously slapping the horse beneath her.
She occasionally glanced back, seeing the approaching beast horde, her face growing ever paler, as though nearing death under the white starlight.
She wanted to call the three ahead to help her, but she knew, at such a time, who would stop, who would help? Just like when the whole convoy was devoured and swallowed by them, she could only choose to flee alone.
Help, but only walk the path of death!
Hundreds of demons, and among them, a few comparable to Profound Realm, this force was enough to raze a city.
They, in comparison, were merely insignificant!
She truly wanted to cry now!
Had she known, she wouldn’t have chosen this route to trade in Cangwu City!
Still, with around twenty to thirty miles away from Cangwu City, the city’s people could not possibly arrive in time to assist them, nor could Cangwu City even detect the events happening here.
The convoy was gone!
Now, they too were doomed!
As the roars drew near, not only the one at the back, but a chill ran down the spine of the three ahead, an overwhelming sense of despair enveloping them.
All... was about to end...
As tears unwillingly welled from her eyes, suddenly a cacophony emerged from behind, as though many objects collided into tree trunks, along with swift cries that faded instantaneously, like meteors across the sky.
The four turned around, utterly shocked!
The demons behind had fallen dead, lying silently without a single breath of life among them.
"All dead!"
"In the blink of an eye!"
The four stopped in their tracks, the astonishment on their faces rendered them speechless for quite a while.
Who saved them?
Silently and swiftly annihilating so many demons!
Yet, no matter how hard they racked their brains, it was fruitless, as this went beyond their scope of understanding. Much like a frog at the bottom of a well, never imagining the life of an eagle in the sky.
Neither could they conceive, this was done by a sword from miles away!
