Just like that, a day’s time had passed.
On the second day, while Shien was still in the middle of his dreams, a sound started repeating by his ear.
“It’s time to get up, Mister Shien.”
Shien dazedly heard that voice and then slowly woke up.
When Shien finally fully woke up, he discovered a feminine figure standing by his bed.
“Good morning, Mister Shien.”
The first thing that Shien saw when he opened his eyes was a beautiful maid. She was using a beautiful yet monotonous voice to greet him.
“…”
Shien’s sleepiness instantly vanished. He just stared speechlessly at the maid by his bedside, dumbfounded. He stayed stunned that way for a good while before he finally came back to himself.
Yet, while Shien was stunned and speechless, that beautiful maid also didn’t say a thing. She just continued to wait quietly with an unusually calm expression.
Silence strangely hung within the room.
After an unknown amount of time, Shien finally closed his eyes and continued to lie back on the bed as if nothing had happened.
Seeing Shien act that way, Lasha calmly spoke.
“Please do not run away from reality. This is not a dream, nor is it a hallucination. This is the completely real reality, so please get up.”
Hearing that, Shien had to finally admit to himself that he was indeed not dreaming.
But since he isn’t dreaming, the scene before him is a bit strange then.
“… Why are you here?”
Shien tentatively asked such a question.
“That is a meaningless question.” Lasha spoke with an utterly placid expression, “A maid waking someone up is completely natural.”
True enough. This kind of natural occurrence happens quite often.
The problem with that though…
“You’re not my maid though, right?”
Shien pointed out that particular fact.
Too bad for him though, Lasha did not react at all.
“Since milady had me follow Mister Shien, then until milady returns, my job is to take care of Mister Shien.” Lasha calmly spoke, “Please don’t worry. A normal person like me may not be of any use on the battlefield, but daily everyday chores are within my abilities. I will not disappoint anyone when it comes to such things.”
“I-is that so?” Shien went mute for a bit before finally letting out a sigh after some time, “Fine then. Being woken up by a beautiful maid is a great experience that not even money can buy, so I’ll just go ahead and enjoy it.”
“It’s best that you can think that way.” Lasha spoke completely monotonously, “Since Mister Shien has fully comprehended the situation, please get up already.”
“Alright.” Shien didn’t drag it on either, and got right up from the bed.
However, when he did so, Shien discovered something else unbelievable.
“… Say, Lasha.”
“Yes, what might you need?”
“No, there’s nothing like that. I just wanted to ask something. Did I go to sleep without changing into my clothes last night?”
“No, you had indeed gone to bed in you sleepwear last night.”
“When why am I already fully dressed now?”
Yes, Shien had discovered that his clothes have all already been changed.
He himself also clearly remember having changed to his sleepwear last night before going to bed. How how is it that he is now fully dressed to go out, and so tidily at that?
Shien was rather puzzled by that.
However, Lasha then stated the following.
“Of course, this is because I changed you.”
That maid said something unbelievable.
“… Ha?”
Shien let out a dumb sound.
“I changed you.”
Lasha expressionlessly repeated her earlier words.
“No… When did you do this exactly?”
Shien’s eyes widened.
“Before I called Mister Shien to wake up.” Lasha answered honestly.
“W-why did I not notice at all though?”
Shien was stunned.
“This is a meaningless question. It’s only natural that a maid should finish all the tasks before her master needs t order them. A maid that requires her master to personally order her about is unqualified.”
