The older brother with the white sheep head didn’t speak. He just silently tapped the table and said, “Doesn’t matter. Come eat.”
The three didn’t say anything, only nodded. They walked over respectfully and sat around the table.
I rubbed my hands somewhat at a loss. Although I was very hungry, this was someone else’s home after all. Grandma said when visiting other people’s homes, you shouldn’t even drink water…
“Come eat.” White Sheep Brother tapped the table and said to me.
“Ah?” I swallowed. “I… I can eat too?”
“Don’t waste words. If Brother Sheep tells you to come over, then come over.” Tiger Uncle said.
I nodded happily and came to the dining table.
Looking around, there didn’t seem to be a place for me. White Sheep Brother reached out and dragged over a chair, placing it beside him.
“Sit.” He said.
“Thank you, Brother!” I said with a smile.
There was food to eat. This was wonderful.
I reached out to take off my mask, but Brother Baiyang stopped me.
“Don’t take it off.” He still said coldly. “Eat like this.”
“Eat like this…?” I didn’t quite understand. How could I eat while wearing this stinky mask?
“Remember, your mask can only be removed when you die.” Brother Sheep said again.
“Ah…?!”
I looked around at the several people at the table. They directly picked up food and stuffed it into the mouths of their masks.
The mouth of this mask could actually open?
I tried reaching up to touch the mask and found that the mouth indeed wasn’t sewn shut—it was just right for eating.
Although this mask was very smelly, it was still better than starving to death!
There was a lot of food on the table, looking like it was enough for ten people to eat. I reached out and took a potato, peeled it, and took a bite.
It was boiled, boiled until soft and crumbly, with a very fragrant potato flavor. Very delicious.
Grandma used to boil potatoes for me like this too.
“Silly child…” Tiger Uncle shook his head.
I saw him reach out and take a chicken leg from Black Sheep Uncle’s plate beside him and hand it to me. “Eat this, eat more meat.”
“Hey…” Black Sheep Uncle looked very unhappy. “Isn’t that going too far?”
“You’re a sheep, what are you doing eating meat?”
“Why can’t sheep eat meat?”
“Don’t argue, don’t argue… hehe.” Snake Uncle said with a laugh. “Be careful you’ll get beaten to death if you keep arguing.”
Looking at the chicken leg on my plate, I was somewhat at a loss.
“Good girl, good girl…” Snake Uncle patted my head. “Don’t mind those two idiots. If he gives it to you, just eat it.”
I picked up the chicken leg and looked at it. I could only eat chicken legs during New Year’s.
“Can I eat it…?”
“Of course!” Snake Uncle winked at me.
“Th… thank you, Snake Uncle…” After saying this, I looked at the other two as well. “And thank you, Tiger Uncle and Black Sheep Uncle…”
“Look how polite this child is.” Snake Uncle shook his head. “Go ahead and eat.”
I nodded and bit into the chicken leg.
It was absolutely delicious. Today felt like New Year’s.
After a short while, Brother Baiyang spoke.
I noticed that every time he spoke, everyone would immediately stop what they were doing and look at him respectfully.
“I’m saying…” He tapped the table. “Hand over today’s.”
“Thirteen today.” Snake Uncle was the first to take out a small pouch from behind him. “Thank you for the advice you gave me, Brother Sheep.”
“Mm.” Earth-Sheep nodded. “After I improved your game, it’s already nearly perfect. It probably won’t be long before you sign a contract.”
“I got nine.” Black Sheep Uncle answered. “Brother Sheep, you were absolutely right. The sight of humans deceiving each other is truly ugly.”
After hearing this, Brother Baiyang pondered for a while and said, “Man-Sheep, stop your ‘Fan Guessing’ after two more rounds.”
“What?” Black Sheep Uncle was stunned. “Brother Sheep, do you mean…?”
“Shift your work focus.” Brother Baiyang said. “I’ve designed a new game for you. Take a look when you have time.”
Brother Baiyang handed a small notebook to Black Sheep Uncle.
“A new game?” Black Sheep Uncle flipped through the notebook and soon showed a shocked expression. “‘Bagua Fan’…? One hundred participants…?”
“Just a preliminary idea.” Brother Baiyang said. “If you think it’s too difficult, simplifying it to ‘Seven Emotions,’ ‘Six Desires,’ ‘Five Tones,’ ‘Four Seasons,’ or even ‘Three Powers’ would all work.”
