Bai Xifeng woke up after hearing some noise outside her room. She got out of the bed and opened the door.
The three siblings were cleaning out the courtyard. When they saw her at the door, they immediately greeted Bai Xifeng.
"Good morning, Master." They bowed.
"You don’t have to do so formal with me. By the way, what are you doing?" Bai Xifeng looked around.
"We are cleaning the courtyard." Yu Xiaoqing stated.
"This courtyard also needs some repairs." Yu Nianzu stated.
Bai Xifeng did not care much about the courtyard. If it gave her a place that she could stay, she did not think this courtyard should be fancy. She already saw Old Madam Bai’s courtyard. She felt that she was hurting her eyes when she went there.
"Where is Xiao Li?" Bai Xifeng looked around searching for Xiao Li.
"Oh, she is preparing breakfast." Yu Xiaohui answered. She seemed to remember something. "I will go and prepare the water for Master to clean up."
"No need. I will go there by myself." Bai Xifeng stopped her.
"But..." Yu Xiaohui wanted to say something.
"No need for you to treat me like the young miss that you think. I am not like them." Bai Xifeng waved her hand and left.
The three siblings looked at each other.
"Older Sister, she is really different from other young misses." Xiao Nianzu said.
"Hmm... "Yu Xiaohui nodded. "She is the Master that we going to serve now."
After cleaning up, she went to the kitchen to see what was for today’s breakfast. She peeked inside. In the kitchen, Xiao Li seemed to stir something in the pot.
"Xiao Li." Bai Xifeng called Xiao Li.
Xiao Li seemed to be surprised. "Young Miss, what are you doing here?" She asked.
Bai Xifeng was confused as to why Xiao Li looked extremely surprised. Xiao Li put the ladle and came out. She quickly came out and blocked Bai Xifeng from going in.
"Eh, why are you blocking me from entering the kitchen?" Bai Xifeng asked.
"I am preventing the disaster to be happening." Xiao Li said.
"Huh? What?" Bai Xifeng could not understand.
"Young Miss, are you forgetting that you already burned the kitchen down when you wanted to cook something?" Xiao Li said.
Bai Xifeng went to silence. She searched in Old Bai Xifeng’s memories. She indeed caused the incident 2 years ago.
"Well... That was 2 years ago." Bai Xifeng avoided Xiao Li’s eyes.
"Even so, we can not afford our kitchen to be burned down again." Xiao Li said.
"Okay... Okay..." Bai Xifeng did not want to say that she was already a changed person.
She was an orphan. She grew up learning to cook. She could not say that she was a Michelin-star chef. But she could cook decent and delicious food. One day, she would prove to Xiao Li that she could cook.
"Young Miss, you can go and wait. The breakfast would be ready sooner." Xiao Li still guarded the kitchen, blocking Bai Xifeng from entering the kitchen.
Bai Xifeng gave up and left. She sat at the table outside her room. She was thinking about what she should do for today. She needed to practice her alchemist and pharmacist skills. She already needed to restock the pills and elixirs for Shanghai Pavilion.
She could see that three siblings worked over there. She remembered something.
"Xiaohui, come here." Bai Xifeng called Yu Xiaohui.
Yu Xiaohui stopped doing her work and went to Bai Xifeng.
"What is it, Master?" Yu Xiaohui asked.
"Yesterday, you told me that I smiled like a pharmacist. So, that is why you come to me, am I right?" Bai Xifeng asked.
"Yes, Master." Yu Xiaohui nodded.
"So, you must be having an amazing sense of smell." Bai XIfeng nodded while touching her chin. She then asked again. "Are you guys can cultivate?"
"Yes, Master. We can. But we can at the lowest rank in Gathering Qi realm." Yu Xiaohui informed Bai Xifeng.
"Oh, you tested it before?" Bai Xifeng asked.
Yu Xiaohui had a complicated expression on her face. Bai Xifeng noticed that.
"It is okay if you don’t have to say anything about that." Bai Xifeng did not want to pry into someone’s past.
Xiao Li came out at the perfect time to solve the awkwardness feeling with food.
"Master, the food is ready." Xiao Li stated.
"Prepare extra utensils for you and them as well. We are going to eat together." Bai Xifeng said.
"Master, we can eat later. We can not possibly share the table with the master that we serve." Yu Xiaohui stated.
"Don’t bother about that. Let’s eat together. Eating alone is boring. Sharing food with everyone makes the food more delicious. And also, I can discuss your jobs here after this." Bai Xifeng stated.
Xiao Li knew that her young miss would not back off about this. She went to the kitchen to take the utensils for herself and others.
"Sit down." Bai Xifeng said. "This is an order."
Yu’s Siblings looked at each other and slowly took their seat. They began to eat together. At first, Yu Siblings were stiff. They did not move their hands much.
"You should eat more. Otherwise, you will be in the same state as yesterday." Bai Xifeng reminded them.
