c564: I Have Something Important to Tell You (2)

Vincent Morgan had run into Renee Jennings by chance before, so he wasn’t as emotional as Aria Sinclair. He offered a gentle smile. "Renee."

Renee Jennings stood beside Faye Wyatt and gave the two a slight nod. Her voice was calm. "Hello."

Aria Sinclair turned to the side to wipe away her tears, then gave a gentle smile. "Hello, Renee. We finally meet."

Renee Jennings pressed her lips together and said nothing.

Faye Wyatt laughed heartily. "Let’s sit down and order first. I’ve been wanting to try the food here for ages."

"Okay." Aria Sinclair paused for two seconds before moving to sit beside Renee Jennings. She watched Renee’s expression carefully. Seeing that she wasn’t upset, Aria quietly sighed in relief and leaned back, settling into her chair.

"Aria, see what you’d like to eat." Faye Wyatt handed her the menu.

Aria Sinclair took it, then placed it in front of Renee Jennings. Her tone was clearly ingratiating. "Renee, why don’t you take a look first and see what you like."

"It’s fine," Renee Jennings said lightly. "You choose first. I’m fine with anything."

Hearing this, Aria Sinclair pursed her lips and nodded. "Okay."

After they finished ordering, Renee Jennings caught Aria Sinclair and Vincent Morgan staring at her intently out of the corner of her eye.

She blinked, raised a hand to smooth her hair, and shot Faye Wyatt a look pleading for help.

Faye Wyatt understood instantly and broke the silence with a smile. "Aria, have you traveled anywhere fun recently?"

"We took a trip to Country M," Aria Sinclair said. "It wasn’t really for fun; I was just accompanying my husband on a business trip." She then looked at Renee Jennings. "I bought you a gift while I was there."

Vincent Morgan promptly handed her the gift box.

Renee Jennings was busy thinking about how to bring up all the terrible things Zoe Morgan had done, so she didn’t immediately realize Aria Sinclair was talking to her.

When Aria Sinclair held out the gift box, Renee Jennings gave it a casual glance before looking away, appearing completely uninterested.

This reaction left Aria Sinclair feeling awkward and at a loss.

’Does Renee not want it?’

Seeing this, Faye Wyatt prompted, "Renee, Aria is giving you a gift."

"What?" Renee Jennings frowned in confusion. "A gift for me?"

Her gaze fell back on the gift box, and she seemed a bit dazed. "This is a gift for me?"

"Yes," Aria Sinclair nodded, her eyes full of expectation. "See if you like it. If you don’t, I’ll buy you a new one."

"There’s no need to look." Renee Jennings met the woman’s gaze and said softly, "I won’t accept your gift. I don’t need anything right now."

She paused, then explained, "Actually, the reason I invited you two here today is because there’s something important I need to tell you. But I figured we should talk after we’ve had a good meal."
