c519: Guarding Day and Night, a Thief Within is Hard to Prevent

Taro Head pursed her lips and said slowly, "I tend to stock up on skincare and makeup. Recently, I was planning to sort through some of my unused products to give to a friend, but I discovered that a lot of it was missing."

[Some of it’s missing? What do you mean?]

[Huh? Did you get robbed?]

[Is anything else gone? If it were a burglar, they wouldn’t just steal skincare products.]

"Nothing else is missing," Taro Head said. "I have a safe at home, and everything in it is still there. Nothing’s gone."

Renee Jennings nodded and asked softly, "So, it’s only your skincare and makeup that’s missing?"

"Yes." Taro Head looked troubled. "I just think it’s strange that only those things were taken."

Renee Jennings: "What kind of pets do you have?"

"I have two guinea pigs." Taro Head leaned over and scooped up two plump, brown-and-white furballs from the floor. "They’re siblings. The brother is named Woody, and the sister is Blossom."

The two chubby little guinea pigs stared with eyes like black gems, blinking and twinkling as if they were filled with curiosity about the world.

[Wow, what cute little piggies.]

[They’re so plump.]

[Hehe, what kind of sack do you think they’d like???]

Cradling Woody and Blossom, Taro Head laughed and said, "Woody and Blossom would probably like a colorful sack."

"I can arrange that," said Renee Jennings.

In her mind, she opened the points store and used 200 points to buy an Animal Language Prop Card, exchanging it for the ability to speak Guinea Pig.

Woody and Blossom turned to look at each other, their big eyes filled with great confusion.

"WHEEK~ What’s going on?"

"WHEEK WHEEK~ I don’t get it either."

The siblings’ exchange ended there, and their gazes returned to Renee Jennings on the phone screen.

"Woody, Blossom, hello. I’m Renee. Can you hear me?" Renee Jennings asked softly.

"WHEEK? You’re talking to us?" Woody’s clear, big eyes were full of confusion.

"WHEEK WHEEK? What’s a ’Renee’?" Blossom asked, puzzled.

A gentle smile touched Renee Jennings’s eyes as her lips curved slightly. "It’s my name. Your names are Woody and Blossom, and my name is Renee."

Woody and Blossom’s faces suddenly lit up with understanding. "WHEEK WHEEK~ Oh, so that’s how it is!"

Renee Jennings continued, "Woody, Blossom, are you home every day?"

"WHEEK~ Yep~"

"WHEEK WHEEK~ We play at home every day~"

"Then do you usually see your big sister putting on makeup?"

"WHEEK? What’s ’putting on makeup’?" Blossom tilted her head.

Renee Jennings thought for a moment and said, "It’s when she sits in front of the mirror and puts things on her face to become pretty."

"WHEEK WHEEK! I know what you’re talking about!" Woody said hurriedly. "That’s a Magic Mirror. Every time our big sister sits there, she’s prettier when she gets up."

The smile in Renee Jennings’s eyes deepened. "Yes, it’s a Magic Mirror."

Taro Head blinked, asking curiously, "Teacher Renee, what are Woody and Blossom saying?"

Renee Jennings’s lips curved. "They said you have a Magic Mirror."

"A Magic Mirror?" Taro Head asked, confused. "What Magic Mirror?"

Renee Jennings told her what Woody had said.

It wasn’t just Taro Head who was amused; the audience also burst out laughing.

[Hahahaha, so in the little piggies’ eyes, it’s a Magic Mirror!]

[Magic Mirror, that’s the perfect word for it~]

Renee Jennings then asked Woody and Blossom, "When you’re home, do you ever see anyone else come over?"

Woody: "WHEEK~ Yep~"

Blossom: "WHEEK~ Flynn comes over."

"Flynn?" Renee Jennings asked. "Who’s Flynn?"

Taro Head quickly explained, "Teacher Renee, Flynn is my boyfriend. He sometimes stays over."

"I see." Renee Jennings nodded. "Then is it possible your boyfriend took your skincare products and makeup?"

"That’s impossible," said Taro Head. "I asked him, and he said he didn’t."

Renee Jennings: "Okay, let me ask them again."

She looked at the two adorable little furballs. "Besides Flynn, does anyone else usually come over?"

Woody shook his head. "WHEEK WHEEK~ Nope, we only see Flynn!"
