Friday stared at Demon King Conway, his brown eyes filled with anticipation.
’If my owner knows why I’m on a hunger strike, will she change her mind? Will she stop thinking about getting another dog?’
Demon King Conway’s brow furrowed. She was both exasperated and amused. "He’s staging a hunger strike just because of something I mentioned offhand to a friend? That little stinker. The only reason I thought about getting another dog was because I was worried he’d get bored."
Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow. "Then he misunderstood you. He thought you were the type to abandon the old for the new."
Demon King Conway: "..."
She sighed in resignation. "Friday is just a spoiled little dog."
"WOOF! That’s not true!" Friday retorted. "WOOF! You’re the one who upset me!"
Demon King Conway looked at Renee Jennings on the screen. "Host Jennings, what’s that little stinker saying?"
After Renee Jennings relayed what he said, Demon King Conway felt even more helpless.
She then asked, "Weren’t you so proud about going on a hunger strike to get back at me? Why have you been eating sometimes?"
Friday replied with righteous confidence, "ARF ARF ARF~ Well, whose fault is it for making the food smell so good? Sometimes I couldn’t resist and had a little taste."
Renee Jennings found this hilarious, her eyes curving into a smile.
Friday barked again. "Are you still going to get a second dog?"
Hearing this, Demon King Conway raised an eyebrow and asked, "If I say yes, are you going to keep up the hunger strike?"
Friday: "WOOF WOOF WOOF! Of course! This house isn’t big enough for two dogs! This is my home, and no one else is welcome!"
Demon King Conway couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
[This dog is so possessive.]
[Why doesn’t Friday want a companion? My dog practically lives at other people’s houses because he just wants to play with their dogs.]
Renee Jennings could understand Friday’s feelings. When she first started bringing other small animals home, Blueberry would also get very upset, not wanting her attention to be divided.
’Friday is as important as family to Demon King Conway. If he’s not willing, then she should just drop it.’
Demon King Conway snorted. "Alright, you don’t have to starve yourself to death to get back at me. I’m not getting a second dog. This family will only ever have one dog, and that’s you, Friday."
Hearing his owner’s solemn declaration, Friday let out an excited howl. "AWOOO~"
In a flash, he leaped at Demon King Conway. "ARF ARF ARF~ I knew it! You love me the most!"
[Whoa, his barks changed completely in an instant!]
[First time I’ve ever heard a dog use a cutesy voice.]
[Friday’s better at acting spoiled than I am.]
Friday snuggled into Demon King Conway’s arms, rubbing his fluffy head against her chin with all his might.
Demon King Conway feigned annoyance, but her eyes were filled with mirth. "Friday, don’t think you can get away with that hunger strike stunt just by acting cute. You’re banned from snacks for three days!"
Friday yelped in shock. "WOOF WOOF WOOF! Don’t do this to me!"
Renee Jennings laughed too. "Three days is too short. I suggest three months."
Friday’s eyes went wide in an instant. "You’re a meanie..."
Demon King Conway raised a hand and tapped him on the head, deliberately putting on a fierce voice. "How dare you glare at the host I admire most? You got a death wish?"
She looked at Renee Jennings, her tone switching back to a gentle one. "Host Jennings, thank you so much for helping me with this. I won’t take up any more of your time. Goodbye!"
Demon King Conway disconnected the call, and the public chat once again exploded with a dazzling display of romantic special effects.
[Damn, another rich lady!]
[Demon King, please notice me!]
[Rich lady, I have an eight-pack, I’m super obedient, and I promise I won’t go on a hunger strike to get back at you...]
Renee Jennings scanned the comments, shaking her head with an amused smile. "Let’s connect with our third viewer."
The connection with "Snowy Pig" was successful, but her side of the split-screen was completely dark.
[Huh? Why is it pitch-black?]
[The camera must be covered.]
[Guess they don’t want to show their face?]
Renee Jennings stared at the black screen and called out, "Snowy Pig, are you there?"
"Hello, Host. It’s not convenient for me to show my face," Snowy Pig responded. "Let me put on a mask first."
"Okay."
About a minute later, a person bundled up from head to toe appeared on the dark screen.
The person was wearing a loose black jacket, a black face mask, and sunglasses. A white baseball cap was pulled down over their head. If not for her voice, it would have been impossible to tell she was a woman.
[Dressed so discreetly. Could it be a celebrity?]
[Seriously? Celebrities watch this stream?]
[Her voice doesn’t sound familiar. I can’t place her as any celebrity.]
