[HUH???]
[What the hell? The same husband?]
[That’s a line I never thought I’d hear. I was so shocked I dropped my spicy chips!]
[Is it bigamy or cheating?]
[Who’s the Number Three and who’s the original wife?]
The audience’s comments flooded the screen one after another.
Fanny finally snapped out of her shock.
Staring at the phone screen with red-rimmed eyes, she felt as if an invisible hand were squeezing her heart, making it hard to breathe.
A moment later, Fanny raised a hand to cover her mouth, her shoulders trembling slightly as suppressed sobs escaped her throat.
Renee Jennings couldn’t bear to watch.
[Isn’t it obvious who the Number Three and the original wife are? Who would be willing to make their Number Three work as a nanny for the original wife, just to be tormented by her?]
[Damn, if that’s the case, Fanny’s husband is a real scumbag. So disgusting!]
[I’m speechless. Humiliating his own wife like this?]
"Fanny, are you okay?" Renee Jennings asked her cautiously.
Fanny sniffled, hastily wiped the tears from her face, and spoke with a thick, nasal voice, "Ms. Jennings, wh-why did my hus-husband make-make me come here? D-do you know?"
"I do. Leo told me everything." Renee Jennings repeated Leo’s words without omitting a single detail.
’It was cruel for Fanny to hear this—like death by a thousand cuts,’ Renee thought. ’But if I kept it from her, how could she ever see the truth and choose the right path for herself?’
[That goddamn son of a bitch! He’s absolutely vile!]
[Miss Donovan is no saint either. There are thousands of men in the world. Why did she have to pick Fanny’s husband?]
[Miss Donovan is disgusting too, actually demanding that the man’s wife come and slave away for her!]
[In the end, the man is even more disgusting. If he hadn’t cheated and hadn’t agreed to it, Fanny wouldn’t have to be tormented by the Number Three!]
The audience was furious, all speaking out against the injustice done to Fanny.
Fanny broke down in tears once more.
But this time, she pulled herself together quickly.
Fanny wiped away her tears and looked at Renee Jennings pleadingly, her voice filled with helplessness. "Ms. Jennings, wh-what should I do?"
"Fanny, do you want a divorce?" Renee Jennings asked gently.
Fanny nodded solemnly. "A divorce! I de-definitely want a divorce!"
For the past few months, she had been working at Miss Donovan’s house, enduring endless harassment and humiliation.
She wanted to quit, but that heartless bastard of a man told her that Miss Donovan knew his boss and could help his career, so he told her to keep Miss Donovan happy.
