A flood of comments complaining about mothers-in-law appeared on the stream.
Renee Jennings glanced at them, feeling a little dizzy.
She pressed her lips together and said slowly, "KelseyLee, is there something I can help you with?"
"Yes!" KelseyLee quickly looked up from the live comments. "Yes, there is! I’ve been tuning into Renee’s streams for a few months now because there’s something I find really strange."
Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow. "And what’s that?"
KelseyLee said, "A year after my husband and I got married, we gave my parents-in-law a sum of money to buy a house."
[Why give it to your parents-in-law to buy? Why not just buy it yourselves?]
[So whose name is on the deed?]
Renee Jennings also asked, "Is the house in your and your husband’s name?"
"No." KelseyLee shook her head. "It’s in my parents-in-law’s name. Since my husband is an only child, we didn’t think too much about it."
[Girl, what were you thinking? To put it bluntly, if the house is in your in-laws’ names, you won’t get a single dime if you and your husband divorce!]
[Yeah, that was a terrible idea! You’ve put yourself in a really vulnerable position!]
Seeing the comments, KelseyLee realized this as well.
She sighed, her voice full of regret. "I also think I shouldn’t have done that now."
Renee Jennings asked gently, "Why did you agree to that arrangement at the time?"
"My husband and I were probably on better terms right after we got married," KelseyLee explained. "Plus, he’s an only child, and my in-laws always said that everything they have will be ours someday."
"So what’s the strange thing you’ve noticed now?"
"The house we bought is in my husband’s hometown. It’s usually empty, and we only stay there during holidays."
[Don’t tell me your in-laws secretly sold the house?]

KelseyLee saw the viewers’ guesses and shook her head. "They didn’t sell the house."
"Then what’s the situation?" Renee Jennings asked.
KelseyLee: "They let my husband’s cousin live in the house. He moved in during the Qingming Festival last year. At first, I thought it was just for a short while, so I didn’t say anything."
Renee Jennings raised her eyebrows slightly. "And now the cousin has decided not to leave?"
"Yeah." KelseyLee looked helpless. "I didn’t find out he was still living in our house until we went back for the New Year."
She paused, glanced behind her, and then continued, "After that, I demanded that the cousin move out. My in-laws said they were looking for a place for him, but when we went back for the Qingming Festival to pay respects to our ancestors, he still hadn’t moved."
"I got into a huge fight with my in-laws over this."
Renee Jennings frowned. "Are your in-laws siding with the cousin?"
"Yes." KelseyLee started to get angry again as she spoke. "I think there’s something wrong with them. The cousin is an outsider, for crying out loud."
"What’s your husband’s attitude about this?"
"He says he can’t reason with his parents. And since the house isn’t in our names, we can’t even sell it."
"How much did you contribute to buying the house?"
"We bought it outright. The total price was 1.3 million, and I paid 500,000 of it."
[Girl, wouldn’t it have been better to invest that 500,000? Why hand it over to someone else...]
[Are you trying to give me a heart attack on purpose? This is infuriating!]
[The more I listen, the angrier I get!]
KelseyLee looked apologetic. "I’m sorry, everyone. I didn’t mean to make you all angry. I only came here to ask Renee for help because I’m truly at my wit’s end."
Renee Jennings pressed her lips together. "How would you like me to help you?"
KelseyLee’s expression turned serious. "My in-laws have a dog. I want you to help me ask the dog if it’s ever heard them talk about this."
"Is the dog with you now?" Renee Jennings asked.
"Yes. When I heard you were streaming tonight, I had my husband bring me over to my in-laws’ place right away."
"Alright, bring the dog over. I’ll ask it."
"Okay, give me a moment."
As KelseyLee moved away from the camera, Michelle Fuller walked into the study carrying a large bag of snacks.
"I’m here," she whispered.
Seeing that Sean Fuller was also there, Michelle Fuller rolled her eyes at him and asked in a low voice, "Don’t you have any friends of your own? Why are you always clinging to my friend?"
Sean Fuller whispered back self-righteously, "Renee is like a big sister to me."
Michelle Fuller reached out and pinched his cheek, muttering, "Oh, heavens, please let some woman come and snatch you away soon!"
Renee Jennings listened to the siblings bicker, a smile in her eyes. "You two are a riot."
[Two? Who else is there besides the brother?]
