c573: Since You Like to Kneel, Then Keep Kneeling

"Should we reply to her?" Sean Fuller asked cautiously.

Renee Jennings said coolly, "Just ignore her."

Michelle Fuller had a look of disgust on her face. "Yeah, let her stew. How shameless!"

"Don’t be angry, don’t be angry," Sean Fuller quickly tried to placate them. "Sis, Renee, how about I take you two out to buy some handbags?"

Michelle Fuller was instantly tempted. Her eyes lit up as she looked at Renee Jennings. "Renee, should we go?"

A resigned smile touched Renee Jennings’s eyes. "If you want to go, let’s go."

Michelle Fuller said happily, "Let’s go~!"

Seeing this, Sean Fuller breathed a small sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, Yvonne Morgan replied to Sean Fuller’s message and then started calling Zachary Morgan’s number again.

’What the hell is he playing at?’ The call went unanswered, and her face darkened with anger.

’I’m his biological daughter. Shouldn’t that be something to celebrate? Does he really need to disappear like this?’

Two whole days passed, and Yvonne Morgan still couldn’t get in touch with Zachary Morgan.

Annoyed, she called Zoe Morgan again, her voice laced with anxiety. "Auntie, I still can’t reach Dad. Have you thought of a plan?"

Before the person on the other end of the line could answer, Yvonne Morgan heard a familiar voice.

"So concerned about your father?"

Yvonne Morgan turned her head and saw Vincent Morgan helping Aria Sinclair walk toward her.

She instinctively pursed her lips. "Mom, Brother, you’re back."

Aria Sinclair sat down on the sofa, a cold, humorless smile on her face as she looked at Yvonne Morgan. "I’ve been gone for a few days. How come I didn’t get a single call from you asking how I was?"

Yvonne Morgan opened her mouth, explaining helplessly, "I-It’s not that I don’t care about you, Mom. I asked Brother the other day if he knew where you and Dad were."

"And then?" Aria Sinclair feigned bewilderment. "You called your brother, you called your father, you called your aunt—but not me. Is it because I’m not your biological mother? But it’s not as if they are your flesh and blood either, so why the distinction?"

"I..." Yvonne Morgan clutched her phone nervously. "Mom, I-I’m sorry."

As she spoke, she slid off the sofa and dropped to her knees with a THUD.

Aria Sinclair’s gaze darkened. She recalled the dark expressions Yvonne Morgan had let slip recently, and her reliance on Zoe Morgan...

’Has she already found out about her parentage?’

On the other end of the line, Zoe Morgan heard Aria’s cutting remarks and spoke urgently, "Yvonne, put your mother on the phone. I’ll talk to her."

Yvonne Morgan didn’t hear this. Her arms had dropped to her sides, and she put on a pitiful, wronged expression, admitting her mistake in a low voice, "Mom, I’m truly sorry. I know I was wrong."

After speaking, she lifted her gaze and looked timidly at Vincent Morgan, internally expecting him to come and help her up.

In the past, Vincent Morgan would have certainly gone to help Yvonne up and put in a few good words for her.

But he didn’t do that today. He simply poured a glass of water and handed it to Aria Sinclair.

Seeing this, Yvonne Morgan couldn’t help but grit her teeth.

Aria Sinclair sipped the water unhurriedly, her eyes casually studying the familiar face before her.

Now that the truth was laid bare, she suddenly realized that Yvonne Morgan did indeed bear some resemblance to Genevieve Hayes.

Aria Sinclair set the glass down and said slowly, "I may not be your birth mother, but I’m not your wicked stepmother either. Why must you act like this?"

Kneeling before her as if she were some strict, vicious person.

But Yvonne Morgan didn’t understand the meaning behind her words. She lowered her head, looking as though she were lower than dirt. "Mom, in my heart, you’ll always be the dearest mother I love the most. I’ll kneel here until you forgive me."

Aria Sinclair understood. ’So, she’s playing the victim.’

’Fine. Then she can act all she wants.’

She stood up, her voice perfectly calm. "Since you like kneeling so much, then stay kneeling."

A flash of shock crossed Yvonne Morgan’s eyes.

’What’s going on?’

"I’m tired. I’m going to rest," Aria Sinclair said, then turned and walked toward the elevator.

Vincent Morgan followed right behind her.

Yvonne Morgan, kneeling on the floor, was pale with fury.

Only when the mother and son were out of sight did she press the phone to her ear and whisper, "Auntie, does she... does she already know something?"

"Yvonne, why are you kneeling?" Zoe Morgan’s voice was filled with urgency. "Get up, quickly! You’ll hurt your knees."

"Didn’t you say you were going to think of a plan?" Yvonne Morgan suppressed her fury. "So, have you thought of one or not?"

"Yvonne, don’t worry. Your aunt is already trying to find a way to contact your father."

"How can I not be worried? It’s been days!"

"Yvonne, just get up first, okay?"

The more Yvonne Morgan thought about it, the angrier she became, and she hung up the phone.
