With the appearance of the door of light, the endless darkness that had once covered this place was finally lifted. The reflection of the captain within the enormous eyeball let out a quiet sigh as her form rapidly began to dissipate like dust scattered by the wind.
Moments later, she reappeared outside the eyeball. However, her body had become extremely faint and translucent. She resembled nothing more than a wandering ghost.
"Are you ready?" the captain asked softly as she gazed at the door shining with resplendent light.
Grey smiled faintly, while Roxanne gave a silent nod.
Without another word, the captain's transparent figure flew forward and headed straight toward the door of light. Grey and Roxanne followed closely behind.
But as they drew nearer to the towering door, which stood several feet tall and radiated an almost sacred brilliance, both of them couldn't help but feel a faint sense of fear rise in their hearts.
The captain's transparent body suddenly passed through the door of light and vanished.
Roxanne and Grey exchanged a brief glance before stepping forward as well.
The moment they entered the door of light, Grey did not feel anything strange or unusual. Even though this door likely led them somewhere extremely close to the subconsciousness of a Soul Ascendancy realm expert, the door itself did not emit the slightest pressure.
It felt… ordinary.
As if it were nothing more than a simple doorway.
However, the scene that greeted their eyes the moment they stepped through was anything but ordinary.
What appeared before them was a completely red world.
The entire sky above was dyed in a deep crimson hue, as if the heavens themselves had been soaked in blood.
Suspended high in the sky were six blazing suns.
Each sun shone with a different brilliance, emitting lights of different colors that illuminated every corner of this strange world.
Their radiance poured down endlessly, bathing the land beneath them in an eerie and overwhelming glow.
The moment Grey and Roxanne fully stepped through, the door of light behind them slowly closed before eventually disappearing without a trace.
Now that the captain was outside the eyeball, her already faint form had become even more unstable. Her body flickered slightly, and her face had grown pale like that of a ghost.
Yet despite her weakened state, her expression remained extremely solemn.
Right in front of them stood a massive palace constructed entirely from crystal lattices.
The crystalline structure reflected the light of the six suns above, causing dazzling rays of light to scatter in every direction.
The palace was unbelievably tall.
Nine enormous floors stacked upon one another, each towering like a mountain of crystal.
But the most shocking sight was what rested upon the very top of the palace.
A head.
A massive head.
The head possessed six eyes, but at this moment only two of them were open.
Long strands of hair hung loosely over its face, partially covering its features.
However, the moment Grey and Roxanne saw that face, their hearts trembled violently.
Because that face… was exactly the same as the enormous head that dominated the sky of this red world.
They were identical.
The only difference was their size.
One was unimaginably massive, like a celestial entity watching over the world.
The other, though still enormous, was much smaller in comparison.
The moment Grey and Roxanne saw the head, their expressions instantly turned pale.
Even though the entity was extremely far away, simply existing within the presence of a Late Soul Ascendancy realm expert was enough to shake their souls.
The difference between them was so vast that it felt like the gap between ants and a god.
At any moment, they felt as though their souls could be crushed by the overwhelming pressure.
The captain's expression also became pale, but she gritted her teeth and forced herself to speak.
"We are finally here," she said with difficulty.
"This place… is the subconsciousness of a Late Soul Ascendancy realm expert. Although its power here is greatly weakened and cannot compare to its strength in the outside world… it is still unimaginably terrifying."
However, the moment the captain finished speaking, the massive head suddenly turned.
The moment those eyes locked onto Grey, his soul trembled violently.
It felt as if an ancient god had suddenly gazed upon him from across endless time.
Even his three Spirit Fires flickered faintly, as though they were instinctively afraid.
Its two opened eyes locked directly onto them.
In an instant,
Two beams of light shot down from the sky like divine judgment.
But Grey, Roxanne, and the captain had already prepared themselves. The moment the head moved, all three of them immediately scattered and abandoned their positions.
