As soon as Adanis saw it was Kaier, she instinctively prepared to interrupt the Wise Sovereign. She wasn’t interested in Dox, an unrelated Wizard, let alone an unrelated Apprentice.
However, before Adanis could speak, the first words from the Wise Sovereign caught her attention.
"Speaking of which, this person is actually the initiator of their exploration of the Underground Aqueduct."
"This person is quite interesting; he is attached to a remnant soul. With the unconscious assistance of this remnant soul, he became a Talented One. Under its influence, he embarked on a long-term relic exploration plan. This remnant soul seems to care a lot about the relic, perhaps wanting to locate a specific relic through this."
As the Wise Sovereign’s narrative unfolded, Adanis’s interest gradually increased. The main reason was that the Wise Sovereign’s storytelling method made Adanis mistakenly believe that the relic the remnant soul was searching for was the Underground Aqueduct.
Additionally, the fact that Kaier was the real initiator of their exploration of the Underground Aqueduct led Adanis to speculate whether this remnant soul was related to the area of remains.
At that moment, Adanis didn’t urge the Wise Sovereign but attentively listened to the narration, while guessing in her heart who this remnant soul might be. Could it be related to Augustine or Margaret, or perhaps to Warden Franklin?
While Adanis listened and pondered, she didn’t notice that in the Wise Sovereign’s recount, Laplace’s gift words hadn’t been mentioned.

By the end, Adanis realized something was amiss and inquired about Laplace’s gift words.
At this point, the Wise Sovereign slowly said, "Seek the Retracer of the past, your final destination is not here."
Upon hearing this, veins bulged on Adanis’s forehead: "Are you toying with me?"
The Wise Sovereign remained unflustered: "How could I dare? I’m merely following the instructions of His Majesty, introducing one by one. His Majesty told me to tell interesting things, so I tell interesting things, didn’t I?"
By now, Adanis understood the Wise Sovereign’s scheme: it was merely an attempt to probe who she truly focused on.
Furthermore, by this time, Adanis also realized that the Wise Sovereign had likely already guessed whose gift words she wished to hear.
Adanis let out a deep breath: "Enough, tell me about the gift words of the other red-haired Wizard!"
The other red-haired Wizard, undeniably, referred to Angel after his change in appearance.
The Wise Sovereign had wondered from the beginning of the narration whether Adanis would once again focus on Angel, and it turned out to be true.
The Wise Sovereign’s expression did not change, but internally his curiosity only grew larger: what exactly did Adanis see in Angel? Why was she so focused on him?
"As for his gift words..."
The Wise Sovereign remarked thoughtfully. He initially planned to restrain himself before extolling, but before he could "extoll," Adanis’s gaze suddenly paused.
And in the next second, the Wise Sovereign sensed something, his gaze turned to the direction of the passage, muttering to himself: "Is the encounter finally about to happen?"
Adanis: "Put aside his gift words for now. My second reason for finding you is that I want control over the Magical Energy Array near your hall."
The Wise Sovereign glanced at Adanis: "This request exceeds the agreed-upon scope. I allowed His Majesty free access to my hall; that is already the limit."
Adanis coldly retorted: "I’m not asking for control over your hall!"
The Wise Sovereign: "It seems His Majesty forgets, the Magical Energy Array surrounding the hall belongs to the core nodes of the hall. Transferring it to His Majesty also indirectly controls my hall."
The Wise Sovereign clearly showed no intention of cooperating. Adanis knew this request was a bit too much, but she proposed it purely for another purpose.
"You don’t have to grant control, but surely you’re able to provide surveillance rights?"
This was Adanis’s true intention. She wanted to witness Angel and others being consumed by You Nu. Others could escape into the Sea of Void Mirror, but Angel must die!
The Wise Sovereign also recognized Adanis’s tactic: to exaggerate the request so that it would definitely be refused, then lower the request to achieve the actual goal.
This tactic... was actually unnecessary.

With that, the Wise Sovereign gently tapped the adjacent wall, and the once thick wall suddenly became a transparent screen. Displayed on it was the scene of Angel and the others groping their way forward outside.
They were approximately fifty meters away from the fork where You Nu resided. However, they seemed to have sensed the odd atmosphere and slowed their steps, their expressions solemn and cautious.
"Is this the live broadcast?" Adanis was briefly stunned. Although the Wise Sovereign hadn’t relinquished the surveillance rights, this mode of viewing the outside situation was indeed acceptable.
"Something like that? I previously experienced a holographic live broadcast, though I don’t have the ability to create a holographic one, simulating the scene through surveillance rights isn’t a problem," the Wise Sovereign explained.

Since Angel and his party were still advancing slowly, Adanis turned back to the Wise Sovereign to inquire about the previous question: "Now can you talk about the Wizard’s gift words?"
The Wise Sovereign: "I wonder why Her Majesty the Goddess is interested in his gift words?"
