Angel quickly arrived at the bottom of the staircase.
The exposed part of the staircase wasn’t very high, just three steps, about six meters in total. Its design was a spiral staircase crafted with a steel and glass structure, with glamorous stained glass on the railings, showcasing a typical church style.
"This spiral staircase was also brought along during the initial space modification. It was originally supposed to connect to a church in reality, but the scope of the mirror reflection was limited and did not include the church."
"Leaving the staircase here seemed wasteful, so Erbao and I made some modifications to it."
While speaking, Genggui walked up the staircase.
Without hesitation, Angel followed.
Upon reaching the third floor, the staircase ceased to ascend and instead led into a parallel-extended carved pathway that stretched into the Mist. From Angel’s vantage point on the staircase platform, the end of the path was not visible.
"This is part of the staircase modification."
"The staircase was transformed into an extending corridor capable of traversing the boundaries of the Mirror Space, eventually reaching the special space where the Sweet Dream resides."
"As for further modifications, you will see once you enter... Oh, I forgot to tell you, ahead is the Silent Void."
Silent Void? Angel was taken aback; this was the first time he had heard this name.
Since it uses "Void" as a suffix, could it be a type of Void?
Angel was about to ask Genggui, but he had already walked into the extending Mist. Watching the drifting Mist, Angel hesitated slightly but ultimately decided to follow.
Upon entering the Mist, Angel once again felt the familiar oppressive sensation of being "submerged by quicksand."
This mild discomfort persisted for half a minute. When the oppressive feeling faded, Angel had already walked out of the previous Mirror Space and arrived in a strange place.
This strange place was incredibly vast; no matter which direction he looked, including up and down, there was no end in sight.
This sense of boundless expanse, Angel had only encountered in the Void.
But to say this place was like the Void wasn’t quite accurate either.
Because the Void was completely dark, utterly devoid of light, making Void travel a matter of enduring endless darkness and boundless solitude.
Here, however, the biggest difference from the Void was that it wasn’t dark. Above was an unreachable dark sky, but although below also seemed bottomless, it was dazzlingly bright.
And this brightness wasn’t like the sun or moon in reality, with a distinct, singular light source.
The brightness here was omnipresent, with every visible part below Angel covered in endless radiance.
Just as the Void below shone at every inch and corner without any gaps.
In contrast, the dark Void above seemed supported by the massive light source below, and Angel’s aerial corridor was precisely on the crisp boundary between black and white, hence not feeling dark at all here.
"Is this the Silent Void you mentioned? Is this also considered Void?" During Angel’s first question, he looked at Genggui; but by the second question, he couldn’t help but look down at the bright place below.
Genggui nodded, "Yes, this is the Silent Void. It is also a place one must pass to traverse different Mirror Spaces of the Mirror Domain. In a broad sense, it is similar to the concept of Void."
Genggui gave an example: "Consider this place as the sea, and the various Mirror Spaces as fixed islands on the sea. To reach the islands, one must traverse the ’sea.’"
Angel: "Did you come up with this yourself?"
Genggui self-consciously scratched the tuft of hair on his head, "No, it was Lord Dominator who said it. I am just repeating Lord Dominator’s words."
Angel chuckled, saying nothing more, but then pointed to the glowing Void below and asked, "What about down there? Is that also Silent Void?"
"Yes, it also counts as Silent Void, though it is the most distinctive part of Silent Void."
"It is... the Sea of Void Mirror."
Angel paused for two seconds upon hearing the name "Sea of Void Mirror." Although he had heard about the Sea of Void Mirror from Laplace, Adanis, and the Wise Sovereign before, Angel always thought of it as distant, a geographical term that was knowable but unreachable.
Much like the "Origin World," known to exist but not encountered in the short term.
So, when Angel realized that the famed Sea of Void Mirror was right below, he felt a dissonance in time and perception.
He had thought the Sea of Void Mirror was far off, yet here it was suddenly, unexpectedly encountered.
On the other hand, seeing Angel staring at the Sea of Void Mirror, Genggui thought he was concerned about its hazards. So he said, "You needn’t worry, sir. Although the Sea of Void Mirror is part of the Silent Void, we’re separated by a considerable distance, so it won’t affect us here."
"Moreover, this area is at the edge of the Mirror Domain, where the Sea of Void Mirror is not active. The surging tides are relatively calm and can’t reach our aerial corridor."
Angel wasn’t scared by the Sea of Void Mirror. After all, without experiencing it, its terrors are hard to fathom.
However, some details in Genggui’s words piqued Angel’s curiosity.
"According to your words, in its active areas, the Sea of Void Mirror’s waves can surge high?"
Genggui nodded, "Yes, if a large area of mirrored space within the Sea of Void Mirror shatters, it can lead to a tidal disaster that, if it breaks out fully, can even spread to the highest level of the Silent Void."
"However, we’re at the outer border of the Mirror Domain, where the domain’s rules heavily restrain the Aggregative Force, so there’s no need to worry about severe tidal disasters."
Even so, hearing about a catastrophe that could envelop the entire Silent Void still shocked Angel somewhat.
No wonder the Wise Sovereign had mentioned that the Sea of Void Mirror was the most terrifying disaster site in the Mirror World, bar none.
As they continued forward, Genggui continued to introduce the Sea of Void Mirror.
The reason the Sea of Void Mirror emits bright light is due to the numerous mirror reflections it contains. The reflected scenes mostly depict daytime, as during sunless nights, there’s little that can be reflected.
Therefore, a multitude of daylight images float in the Sea of Void Mirror, autonomously emitting light, turning the Sea of Void Mirror into a source of radiance.
After discussing the Sea of Void Mirror, Genggui returned to the topic of the aerial corridor.
Genggui: "We could technically traverse the Silent Void directly, generally without getting lost, so there’s no real need for this aerial corridor. But for Lord Dominator’s safety, Erbao and I decided to construct this aerial corridor."
