Selene noticed this but didn’t say anything. Her expression didn’t change. She just brought out the Hologram. A massive blue screen materialized above the Stage. The 30 students names were displayed in white. Then she shuffled the names with a flick of her finger. The names blurred, then stopped.
15 V 15.
Now luckily for Peter, his name didn’t appear on Lynx’s side of the table. Match 1. Peter Musk vs Laurel Vorn. The only way they could meet was in the finals.
Lynx didn’t know anyone name here. Nor the Kol guy he is supposed to fight later. 5 fights were happening today, and he’s like no 3. Peter is number 1.
The other 28 students left the stage. Only Peter, the guy he is fighting, and Selene remained.
Phones were already out streaming. The person who got knocked out, surrendered or blasted from the stage looses.
Lynx walked to the stands. He could spot some Year 1 students. They weren’t sitting with Year 2. They were sitting below, right in front, or just standing against the rails.
He was about to go up when his enhanced hearing picked up a whisper from two rows below.
"Your brother is about to fight"
Then a girl’s voice, nervous but proud. "Yeah, and I hope he wins. It will mean a lot for him, he’s been practicing."
Oh shit that’s he’s fucking sister.
He turned back and walked down the stairs. Of course some girls were fawing over him, hands covering their mouths, but he ignored them and walked straight to the Year 1 stands.
The Year 1 students who saw him froze. The most talked about guy in school. The most handsome guy they’ve ever seen just walked up to them. Some started recording him with shaking hands.
"Hey"
"Sorry I’m not interested, I’ve to you countless times. If you disturb me again, I’ll tell my dad" Ava Musk said without turning. Her voice was sharp, annoyed. She was watching the Stage intently.
"A-Ava, you might wanna turn around" her friend whispered in her ears, voice trembling.
Ava turned.
And her world stopped.
6’2. Blue and silver eyes rigged with gold. Silver eyebrows. Silver hair rigged with gold, falling perfectly. The most handsome male in the whole Aetherion standing 2 feet from her.
"OH MY GOODNESS." She screamed. It wasn’t cute. It was a full on shriek. And she jumped at Lynx.
Lynx was stunned. He knew he had an effect and is aware of his transcendental look, but wasn’t this too extreme? She was literally inhaling his scent, clinging onto him, arms wrapped around his torso. And they are just meeting for the first time.
"IT IS YOU, I’M YOUR NUMBER 1 FAN. I STARTED THE LYNX FANPAGE. YOU ARE REALLY HERE" Ava screamed into his chest.
Okay, calm down. Lynx patted her back awkwardly. "Yeah. I’m here. Let’s watch your brother fight now shall we. We’ll talk and get to know each other as we are watching it."
"Yes yes, definitely" Ava reluctantly let go of Lynx, but her hands were still gripping his sleeve. Her face was bright red.
They both sat down. Lynx observed her up close. Definitely different from Peter. Where Peter was sharp and cold, Ava was radiant. She looked like she was born out of some Hot ice Goddess fantasy. Her breasts were definitely bigger than how it should be, straining against her uniform. Her curves were pronounced on her short skirt. Her ass big, round and soft. Her eyes Blue, but warmer than Peter’s. She was smoking hot.
Her affinity was surprisingly not Ice. It was Lightning. And she was Peter’s Twin. She was in Year 2 Lightning Affinity Class.
Selene voice boomed. "MATCH 1! PETER MUSK VS LAUREL VORN!".
The Stage was already frosted over. Laurel Vorn was a tall guy, 19, with buzzed black hair and scars across his knuckles. Pure Ice Affinity. Year 2. He’d been training for this for years.
Laurel cracked his neck. "Peter Musk. Heard you were supposed to be good."
Peter didn’t answer.
Selene raised her hand. "Begin."
The moment she dropped her hand, Laurel moved.
He slammed both palms on the now frosted floor. "Ice Spears!"
Ten jagged spears of ice erupted from the ground, shooting straight at Peter’s back.
The crowd gasped.
But Peter had already turned.
His brown eyes glowed. The air around him dropped another 10 degrees in an instant. Frost crawled up his sleeves.
"Wall."
A slab of ice 3 meters thick shot up from the ground in front of him.
BOOM.
All ten spears shattered against it with a sound like breaking glass. Shards flew everywhere, glittering under the lights.
"Not bad," Laurel grinned. "Let’s see you block this."
He jumped back, spun, and stomped. "Glacial Field!"
The entire Stage cracked. Ice spread out in a wave, turning the mirror smooth surface into a jagged, uneven battlefield. Spikes rose randomly. The goal was simple... make Peter slip, make him fall.
But Peter didn’t slip. He’s not weak.
He took one step forward. Then another. He was calm. Like he was walking in a park.
Laurel’s grin faltered. "What the..."
Peter raised one hand.
The temperature plummeted. Everyone in the first 3 rows shivered.
"Freeze."
The word was quiet. But the effect wasn’t.
A pulse of blue light burst from Peter’s palm. It raced across the Stage faster than eyes could follow. Where it passed, the air itself crystallized. The jagged spikes Laurel made? Frozen solid mid air. The fog? Frozen into snow.
Laurel tried to jump back, but his feet were already locked in ice up to his ankles.
"Shit!" He panicked, trying to break free. Ice crawled up to his knees.
Peter slowly walked up to him. He stopped 1 meter in front of Laurel, who was now trapped from the waist down.
"Yield," Peter said. His voice had zero emotion.
"Fuck you!" Laurel roared and tried to punch. A fist of ice formed around his arm.
Peter caught it with one hand.
CRACK!
Peter squeezed. The ice fist shattered. Then he flicked his wrist.
A thin blade of ice shot from the ground and stopped 1cm from Laurel’s throat.
The entire stadium held its breath.
Kael was sweating despite the cold. "...I yield."
"Match over. Winner: Peter Musk," Selene announced instantly.
Students rose up and cheered for Peter, even Daniel was cheering from the stands.
Peter turned and walked off the Stage without looking at anyone. Straight to where Daniel was sitting.
Ava next to him was vibrating. "OH MY GOD DID YOU SEE THAT?! THAT WAS MY BROTHER!!"
Lynx smiled. "Yeah. He’s strong."
On the Stage, Selene already removed the Ice sheets and turned the stage back to normal. Match 2 was about to start.
