Light and Darkness

Valencia rolled her eyes and sat down on the ground. She glared at the two in the dark world, pouting.

“What is it this time?” she grumbled.

Vrastos chuckled, pointing at Athesia.

“Mother of all wants to talk to you
I can’t force her to leave
because she won’t listen to me.”

“Vrastos
” Athesia murmured, squinting her eyes.

He shrugged and darted away.

“What does he mean he can’t force you? Aren’t you in his realm?” Valencia wondered.

“Child, I am the creator of them
I used every ounce of my power to finally get in contact with him because he kept pushing me out—”

“Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah
” Vrastos snarled. “You and everyone else treated me like a virus. Now you’re seeking my help?”

“I’ve always thought you were special—”

“Whatever
say whatever you want to say and leave
” Vrastos demanded. “Then get out of my world. I hate seeing any of you.”

“Any?” Valencia repeated. She darted her gaze to Vrastos. “Are all other Espers
?”

“Light, Nature, Water, and whatever
yeah, there are others. So don’t bring them here by meeting them,” Vrastos answered, waving his hand without looking at her.

“But
”

“Light already feels useless because his vessel is weak.”

Valencia paused, thinking.

“You mean
 Lord Kael?”

“He was supposed to be dead a long time ago
I wonder what kept him alive all these years without any stability,” Vrastos cackled. Athesia stared at him. “That bastard should learn to thank me for helping him a little, don’t you think, Athesia?”

“The one who stole my power
was the same person who placed a barrier for you. Aren’t you afraid that this person will steal your power?”

“I don’t care!” Vrastos exclaimed. Then he locked eyes with her, grinning. “At least, I realized that they find me powerful when you all think otherwise!”

“Vrastos—”

“There’s Darkness
 when the light fades
” he whispered.

Valencia stared at them, in silence between each other. She grunted, standing as she hurried to Vrastos’s side.

“Teach me how to control it!” she demanded.

Vrastos looked at her, tilting his head with a grin.

“Little one
 goodbye.”

Then he pointed at her, pulling her away from the dimension—

Athesia slashed her sleeves in the air, stopping Vrastos.

“Vrastos, I haven’t finished talking—”

“I don’t need to hear you talk
you have enough power to enter my dimension without my permission!” Vrastos argued.

Valencia felt the rage inside her, not that she felt anger. Athesia kept her gaze on him.

“I barely have enough to find the person
but you’re on a different level. You have an enormous amount of power
 to break through,” Athesia revealed.

Valencia gasped and glared at him.

“You? You can break through, but you
” she muttered, then paused.

Vrastos looked at Valencia’s eyes and smiled.

“I’m savoring it
 for the finale,” he replied.

Valencia’s jaw tightened, her fists clenching, yet tears appeared in her eyes.

“So
you let my mother feel the pain that was meant for you?!”

“She’s not my vessel
”

“She protected and stabilized your VESSEL!” Valencia shouted, her eyes blurred in dark rage.

Vrastos stood and walked to her.

“So what? I never want to be a part of their life to begin with—”

“THEN GET OUT OF MINES!” Valencia demanded with her distorted voice, reaching for his neck. Vrastos grabbed her wrist. He twirled her around, pulling her and holding her hostage. “LET GO!”

“Calm down, little one—”

“Vrastos sure sounds like a complicated father
” Athesia chuckled.

Vrastos shot a glare at her.

“Shut up—”

“LET GO!” Valencia struggled.

“Hey
” Vrastos called. Then he pulled her hand to hold her chin up. “If I have the power to get out of your life, I would have done it a long time ago
”

“But that
would have cost your life,” Athesia said.
