Light and Darkness (2)

“Shut up,” Vrastos squinted.

Valencia’s slowly subsided.

“And everything your father wished to protect… would have ended there,” Athesia chimed.

“Do you know how to keep your head out of these humans’ business?” Vrastos snarled, releasing Valencia. He walked to Athesia, bickering.

Valencia froze, her hands trembling.

“So… if you had left me… my mother would have gotten a miscarriage?”

Vrastos’s body tensed, biting his tongue. Athesia smiled as she leaned back to look at Valencia.

“You’re correct, child. Your mother would have lost you if Vrastos used every ounce of his power to remove himself.”

“Whatever!” he yelled. Then he reached a hand at Valencia and flicked her out of the dimension. “Goodbye.”

Valencia fell to her bed, darting her head around.

“Argh! I didn’t get enough answers!” she exclaimed, kicking the bed. She hopped onto her feet—

“Where do you think you’re going?” Kael suddenly asked, walking in with his robe and wet hair.

Her body tensed as she held her shoulders up.

“Hm… water?” she answered hastily. He chuckled and strode to her. He grabbed her waist and carried her to the bed. “Wait—”

Kael locked lips with her as she grabbed his robe, debating whether to pull or push. Her body flushed with heat from the connection of his tongue. He pulled away slightly and pressed his head against hers.

“My parents cannot wait for me to wed you… should we just get married tomorrow?” he whispered.

Valencia took a deep breath, tilting her head to her shoulder.

“What happens after that…?”

Kael smiled, warming her ear.

“Well…” he said, then he paused. He slid his hand beneath her dress rems, caressing her thigh. “I get the title of Duke… and you’ll be my Duchess.”

He licked her neck, startling her.

“Will the… Royal Family do anything against it?” she wondered, doing her best to focus before her mind went blank.

Kael kissed behind her ear while pulling down her undergarment between her legs.

“Why should I care if they do?” he mumbled. Then he moved his finger, inserting one.

“Nhah…” she moaned, clutching his robe.

“I can feel that you are uneasy about something…” he stated.

Valencia gulped, snapping out for a second. Did he…? Wait, he can feel my emotions?

“Me?”

“What makes My Lady sleepless tonight?”

“Lord Kael—”

“Just call me Kael from now on…” he demanded, pausing.

She tightened her fists and bit her lower lip.

“I… Kael,” she called, averting her eyes. “I’m afraid of what may come after we follow through with the marriage.”

Kael smiled and pulled her shirt up, revealing her chest.

“What may come… doesn’t mean we should stop,” he replied. Then he covered her breast with his mouth, licking.

Valencia’s body tingled. She looked down and saw him staring at her. I trust you… but why does a part of me fear that trust? Her face reddened.

Kael groped and prepared her warmth before thrusting his shaft between her legs. Through it all, Valencia fell silent, her mind slipping blank.

He moved against her until the rhythm slowed… and finally stilled.

Soon after that, they fell asleep peacefully. At least, Kael did…

Valencia furrowed her brow as her eyes closed, tossing her head left and right.

“D-Dad…” she whispered.

[DREAM]

A manly hand fell to the ashy ground, burning with lava. Heavy breaths lingered in the air. The other hand pressed against the knee, helping him to his feet. Body and breath moved as one—neither of them belonging to Valencia.

Then the vision turned around—

“Good work, Eureon… you have defeated the Demon King,” a man with dirty blonde hair and grey eyes smiled.

The man… no, Eureon chuckled lightly as he took a deep breath. He leaned his head back and looked at the dark clouds.

“Man… this was tougher than I had expected, Roman,” Eureon joked.

Roman laughed, patting Eureon’s shoulder.

“Persai must be waiting for you at home,” he added warmly.

Eureon blushed and nodded.

“Oh… yes, she must. She must be upset that I got myself hurt and didn’t bring her along,” Eureon replied. He looked at Roman and patted Roman’s shoulder a few times before walking ahead.

Roman’s face quickly darkened as Eureon passed him.

“Hey… Eureon,” he called.

Eureon stopped.

“Yes?” he slowly turned—

STAB.

A bright, yellow light sword stabbed through Eureon’s back from the hand of Roman. Eureon gagged on blood as he stared at Roman with his wide, purplish star eyes.

“Darkness… should follow to death while light shines over.”
