Chapter 459: Procession My life had changed by a massive margin: the buildings around me, people, food, everything different. But being in Los Angeles in my current location, I just felt at home.
My most powerful allies were in Michigan, Rome, and even Texas, but somehow I just felt safest here.
It didn’t matter that a group of billionaires who were my enemies were building a base here.
Remembering them put me in a foul mood, my expression twisting.
"Daddy, you even got them a jammer!"
Valera’s excited voice brought me out of my thoughts, and I turned, looking at the girl who was a few steps away, staring through the glass walls of the room at the convoy below.
"I believe so."
"You’re not sure?" Valera turned to look at me, confused.
The sight of her in a tight short skirt and white top, wearing white socks, made my tongue sneak out, and I stood up.
Valera’s eyes followed my figure, and she chuckled as I approached her, turning back to look out the window, confident in the actions that would follow next.
Not delaying, I put my arms around her, pulling her body to mine.
"Daddy is very busy, honey. I’m not aware of everything going on in the ceremony."
Enjoying my embrace, Valera wiggled her butt, rubbing her rump on my package, then she brought a finger to her lips.
"But Nadia said you donated over 10 million to the precinct and put 100 million in charity.
How can you not know how that money is being spent?
Isn’t that careless?"
Still being naughty and wiggling her butt, clearly enjoying the feel of my length, I left Valera to her devices, going silent for some seconds.
"You’re not wrong, honey, but you have to understand, Daddy controls far more wealth than 100 million.
You know I’m a billionaire, right?"
"I heard about that and asked Mom. She said it’s true," Valera answered, turning back to me with excited eyes.
"That’s true." I bent down and pecked her cheek.
"But just because you have so much money doesn’t mean you should spend carelessly. 100 million dollars is a lot.
You should have given 20 million to charity. 500 thousand would be enough to donate to the police.
If you go broke, these people won’t remember the good you did."
Valera had heard my words, but she still had her own thoughts.
As a girl coming from scarcity, how was I to explain to her that in the long run, 100 million dollars was expendable to me?
Going silent while my hands moved from Valera’s slim waist to her breasts, each hand grabbing a mound and squeezing, I joined her to silently look at the procession below.
I couldn’t see the jammer she had mentioned, but there were armoured cars, vans, off-road trucks, and fire trucks.
Today was the fourth of the new month, the promised event at the precinct finally happening.
The previous night, I had decided to stay at the hotel, wanting a bird’s-eye view of the procession.
And it wasn’t just me at the hotel, but also my fiancée’s daughter.
Wait, Valera is also my fiancée, right? Or does the title only count after I propose to them?
"Daddy, if you have so much money, can you get me something?"
"What’s that, sweetie?"
"I want a secret underground lab!" Valera turned around, excited. "Let there be supercomputers and a group of secret agents in it!"
"..."
My lips opened, and then closed in silence.
First, getting the reminder that I was rich, I thought Valera was about to ask me for a supercar, Sophia would have asked for that. But instead, the girl’s fantasies lay elsewhere.
I was just about to tell Valera about Denise when footsteps sounded behind us, and I turned to see Martha stepping out of the bathroom.
The woman had her hair in a towel, and she didn’t waste time training her eyes on both of us.
"Valera, go take your bath." Martha’s voice came down sharp.
Before I could even say a word, my little minx was out of my arms and out of sight. Just me and her mother were left together, and I could only let out a sigh.
"You didn’t have to scare her."
"I’m her mother," the woman rebutted.
Walking past me, Martha moved to get dressed.
Retreating, I collapsed on the bed, lying flat and staring at the ceiling in silence.
"What’s on your mind?" her voice came softly after some seconds.
"A lot."
"I’m listening."
I opened my mouth to speak, but Martha quickly cut me off.
