c3455: Just So Stubborn (2)

"It’s impossible for you as well."

Wu Tong was stunned, as was Qi Guan.

Even Old Tao was caught completely off guard.

Such a sudden turn of events was something everyone was unprepared for.

Everyone who had been watching, both from the shadows and openly, were similarly baffled. Everyone had assumed that Wu Tong would be allowed to take Sage Qian away. Just what was happening?

Wu Tong nearly failed to respond in time, and her face betrayed a hint of her frustration. "Third Boss, do you not want to make a deal? Is this because you can use Sage Qian? If that’s the case, then the Revolt Alliance will not force this matter."

Lu Yin sighed. "Sage Qian is useless to me, but I simply don’t want to give him away. Little Wu Tong, sometimes I’m just too stubborn. There’s nothing I can do about it."

Wu Tong was speechless. What kind of excuse was this?

Qi Guan could no longer restrain himself. The humiliation he had suffered while speaking to this young man exceeded everything he had ever suffered throughout his entire life. He had reached his limit. "Third Boss, the Qi family has already been very polite to you. You can demand anything at all, provided that it is within acceptable means.

"Despite that, you continue to make things difficult for me. Do you believe that there is no one of note in the Qi family?"

Lu Yin blinked. "Yes."

Qi Guan was overcome with rage. "Fine! Fine, fine. Just wait! The Qi family will make you understand what the Consciousness Domain truly is! You will regret your words and actions from today."

He then turned to leave.

Lu Yin sneered. "You think that you can just leave after throwing such wild threats my way? Do you think that you're the High Seraph?"

He then lifted a hand and reached out.

A surge of endless power spread from his fingertips, and Lu Yin's palm instantly expanded to block out the sky. It was like a great dome was reaching for Qi Guan, much to his horror. "Third Boss, do you want to fight my Qi family to the death?"

There was a loud thud as Qi Guan was grabbed by the immensely powerful hand. He was immediately thrown into the Champions' Stage Purgatory.

The entire exchange consisted of Lu Yin only using a single move, while Qi Guan used the full power of his consciousness. Unfortunately, it was completely useless against Lu Yin.

Lu Yin had an aura that did not belong to the Spirit Nidus. People speculated that he was from the Consciousness Megaverse, and this exchange served as confirmation; his consciousness clearly surpassed Qi Guan’s. That was highly unusual in the Spirit Nidus.

Lu Yin had already easily defeated both Yu Shan and Palace Master Yao, which proved that he was powerful, but neither of those battles had involved using any consciousness.

Cultivating consciousness was an entirely different path.

Lu Yin subdued Qi Guan with a superior consciousness, and to the people watching, that verified that he was from the Consciousness Megaverse.

This reveal did not cause much of a stir. The people who actually sat at the top of the megaverse already knew that the people of the Grandverse Manor were actually from the Tianyuan Megaverse, while those who assumed that Boundless had come from the Consciousness Megaverse posed no threat to the Grandverse Manor.

Regardless of whether Boundless was from the Tianyuan Megaverse or the Consciousness Megaverse, the results were the same: the Grandverse Manor was an enemy of the Spirit Nidus.

However, without any indication of the High Seraph’s position on the matter, or any response from the Seven Seraphs, no one would take the lead to move against the outsiders. Otherwise, the Grandverse Manor would have already been completely surrounded.

The people keeping an eye on Lu Yin and the Grandverse Manor, both openly and secretly, were actually waiting for a command for the siege to start.

Until that command arrived, any who took the lead would only suffer.

The more arrogant Lu Yin grew, the worse his fate would be, in the eyes of many people.

Unless he was able to defeat the High Seraph and the Seven Seraphs, he was doomed.

While Qi Guan was not a particularly powerful cultivator, he was definitely someone who was well suited for fighting in the Consciousness Megaverse, especially with the aid of spirit treasure formations. However, he was simply too weak to face Lu Yin.

Using the Karmic Dao, another sequence powerhouse was added to the Champions' Stage.

Wu Tong’s face grew pale as she stared at Lu Yin in terror.

Lu Yin comforted the young woman. "Little Wu Tong, you don't need to be afraid. Qi Guan was too arrogant, so I’m just teaching him a lesson."

Wu Tong bowed. "Qi Guan's behavior does not represent the Consciousness Domain, so please do not hold him against us, Third Boss."

"Haha. Don't worry, I won't. You can go now."

Wu Tong bit her lip. There was a hint of frustration and fear as she bowed to Lu Yin once more before leaving.

As he looked at Wu Tong's retreating figure, Old Tao spoke up. "That little girl has guts. While she’s only a Spirit Warrior, she had the courage to speak with you, Young Master. She will become someone important in the future."
