Everyone who had been watching Lu Yin near the Little Princess and her guardian moved to new positions, leaving the two completely exposed. They were in deep trouble, doomed by a stroke of terrible luck. Who could have imagined that such a minor character would be noticed by the Grandverse Manor’s Third Boss and receive a chance to stand out? This was something that no one could have imagined, even in their wildest fantasies.
Lu Yin gently tapped a finger on a pole of the litter while staring at Xu Ren. "You're wrong."
Old Tao was taken aback, but he showed no reaction.
Everyone watching was stunned. What kind of reaction was that?
The old woman’s eyes lit up. Could it be that this Third Boss was not helping an ant to rise up, but rather using this matter to make a good impression on the Vast Qian Domain? That seemed right. After all, Sage Qian was a sequence powerhouse who controlled the Skyriver. Anyone who wanted to bathe in the Skyriver’s required the sage’s permission. This Third Boss must have those same thoughts.
The Little Princess gasped for breath as she anxiously watched from the distance.
Xu Ren's head buzzed. What had the young master just said? It’s over! It’s all over! It was clear that the man was helping the Little Princess.
Lu Yin slowly continued, "Your grievance is not with this Little Princess, but rather with Sage Qian."
Xu Ren was stunned. "Sage Qian?"
Lu Yin's expression turned serious. "That's right. You were born in this Vast Qian Domain, and the Skyriver belongs to the Vast Qian Domain as a whole, not solely to Sage Qian. Why should he monopolize the Skyriver? The reason why the Little Princess is able to bully you is because she is supported by Sage Qian. It's the sage who’s bullying you, not that girl."
Xu Ren's head was left spinning. How had things escalated to such a level?
Lu Yin looked up. "Sage Qian, come out."
The void twisted behind Xu Ren, and Sage Qian revealed himself. His expression was extremely grim.
Xu Ren slowly turned around. He saw Sage Qian standing just a few meters away, and he nearly collapsed in terror.
Sage Qian did not even glance at Xu Ren. Instead, he was solely focused on Lu Yin. "What do you mean by that, Third Boss?"
Lu Yin smirked. "Exactly what you heard me say. Should I repeat myself?"
Sage Qian clenched his jaw while suppressing his anger. "That girl has been rude and bullied others. I will compensate this young man for his losses. From now on, he will be allowed to enter and leave the Skyriver as he wishes, and no one will stop him. Is this acceptable, Third Boss?"
While it was true that most cultivators in the Spirit Nidus wanted to eliminate everyone from the Grandverse Manor in order to win the High Seraph’s favor, who could actually do so? Who had the courage to even try?
Yu Shan had tried, and he was still being hung from Boundless.
Palace Master Yao had tried, and she had become a servant.
There had been others. Powerful cultivators from the Primal Beastland had been killed during their ambush at the Alin Domain’s Aqua Rift. Five ruling powers and their domains had been purged, which had caused all thirty-six domains to realize just how terrifyingly powerful the Grandverse Manor was. Sage Qian did not want to stick his neck out or risk his life testing the Third Boss.
It seemed quite possible that only someone as strong as a Seraph could stand up to the Third Boss, but the sage did not possess those qualifications. All he could do was submit.
Lu Yin sneered. "What if I say no?"
Sage Qian clenched his fists tighter. "What more do you desire, Third Boss?"
Lu Yin turned to look in a specific direction, his vision piercing the void. He saw a mist-covered river that fell from above, its colors vibrant. "Is that the Skyriver? It's quite beautiful. It would be such a waste to leave it here, so I'll take it from your Vast Qian Domain. After we deal with High Seraph, I'll make sure that it’s used to benefit all cultivators in the megaverse."
These words horrified Sage Qian. Deal with High Seraph? This meant that the Grandverse Manor was irreconcilable enemies with the High Seraph! Besides that, what was this Third Boss even saying? Take it from your Vast Qian Domain? He means to steal the Skyriver!
"Third Boss, the Skyriver belongs to the Vast Qian Domain. No matter what, you cannot take it." Sage Qian moved to block Lu Yin’s path.
Lu Yin stood up. "Why don’t we see if you can stop me? Just so you know, anyone who moves against me needs to bear the consequences of their actions."
He then took a step forward, moving towards the Skyriver.
Sage Qian had no choice but to attack. "You are going too far! Old friends, please lend me a hand!"
As soon as Sage Qian learned that Lu Yin wanted to make trouble in the Vast Qian Domain, he had reached out to everyone he had a connection to, hoping to call in favors with a few powerful cultivators, in case he needed help dealing with Lu Yin. At the least, he wanted to make him hesitate to do anything.
Lu Yin was thrilled that more people were getting involved, as more was better for him. He would be able to further strengthen his Karmic Dao, which would help him further weaken the possibility of suffering karmic backlash in the future.
Unfortunately, no one stepped forward. Sage Qian alone followed Lu Yin to the Skyriver.
The river was an ever-changing blend of colors. It was a stunning sight to see. Mist lingered about the river, giving it the appearance of a divine realm. Beneath the river, a few figures could vaguely be made out as they bathed in the mist. The scene was peaceful and serene.
Suddenly, a stern shout rang out. "Third Boss, stop!"
Multiple eyes snapped open among the people bathing in the Skyriver's mist, and they looked up in irritation. Who dared to disturb them?
They had spent a great deal of effort to earn the right to bathe in the Skyriver's mist. Only people with sufficient backing could hope to earn such qualifications. They had spent years in the mist, soaking in silence. This silence had been disrupted by a sudden loud shout. Sage Qian was overstepping himself.
However, just as the bathing people were about to say something, the entire river trembled. The Skyriver rose up, as though it were being gathered up by a massive hand.
Terrifying pressure instantly overwhelmed them. The people bathing in the mist were all young geniuses, and the pressure was far more than what they could withstand. It was from a sequence powerhouse, or possibly someone even more powerful.
What was going on? Had an enemy entered the Vast Qian Domain?
A flawless white hand fell from up above. This was Sage Qian's ultimate technique, the Vast Qian Sage’s Hand.
Below the attack, Lu Yin guided the Skyriver into his inner universe with one hand while using the other hand to counter the Vast Qian Sage’s Hand.
Further down, the people bathing in the Skyriver's mist went bug-eyed in disbelief. Was someone actually directly countering the Vast Qian Sage’s Hand?
While Sage Qian was not the strongest sequence powerhouse, he was still a top-tier expert who was qualified to be ranked on the White Spirit List. In particular his Vast Qian Sage's Hand had once been praised by even Yu Shan, who ranked second on the White Spirit List. The technique was so overwhelmingly strong that it was unshakeable unless one cultivated either the fourteenth-ranked sequence technique, Finite Strength, or the ninth-ranked sequence technique, Infinite Strength.
Was someone actually going to face that attack head-on?
Then, people witnessed something even more unbelievable: the Vast Qian Sage’s Hand shattered.
The flawless white hand fell to pieces, which then rained down from the sky.
Sage Qian’s face turned gray, though he was not surprised by this outcome.
He was only strong enough to be ranked on the White Spirit List, but he had never actually been listed on it. Yu Shan, who was ranked second, had been instantly crushed by the Third Boss. Not even someone who had cultivated the ninth ranked sequence technique of Infinite Strength could endure more than three strikes before being utterly defeated. Even Palace Master Yao, who was regarded as the most powerful cultivator in the entire megaverse under the Seven Seraphs, had also been defeated.
The gap was simply too vast.
