Lu Yin felt helpless. The essence of life, huh? Even at the peak of cultivation, one still could not surpass that, not without ceasing to be human.
Lu Yuan looked at Lu Yin. “The result is what it is. There’s no need to dwell on it. The real question now is: Little Seven, how will you obtain this innate gift?
“I originally thought that this newly grown innate gift of mine might slowly awaken in you over time, but we don’t time to wait. A gradual awakening could take hundreds, thousands of years... or even longer.”
Greater Sancte Blood Tower nodded. “This innate gift is of limited use on Lu Yuan. Unless he breaks through to the Immortal realm, it won’t be a decisive ability. However, if you obtain it, Mr. Lu, that would be completely different.
“You are able to see far, far further than Lu Yuan, and that’s not even considering the Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm. That allows you to look across the entire human civilization, which would allow you to instantly reach any location: wherever you can see, you can reach. Teleportation would become a decisive power throughout the entirety of human civilization and beyond, except when confronting Luo Chan. Even if an enemy Immortal is stronger than you, they will never be able to surpass your speed.
“We currently have too many powerful enemies. It’s best to ensure that you gain this innate gift as soon as possible.”
“Little Seven, you must have thought of some method to do so, so just do it,” Lu Yuan said.
Lu Yin coughed softly. “To be honest... I haven’t thought of anything.”
Greater Sancte Blood Tower both stared at him in a daze.
“You haven’t thought about it? And yet you still stirred up such a commotion?” Greater Sancte Blood Tower was stunned.
Everyone assumed that Lu Yin had carefully planned out each step of the process, assuming that everything was proceeding smoothly. But in truth, Lu Yin had not thought things through at all.
Lu Yuan was also stunned. This was completely unlike Lu Yin.
The younger man chuckled awkwardly. “I really haven’t thought of anything. I just wanted to give it a try. Like you, Ancestor, I believed that the innate gift might awaken slowly over time... or maybe it would appear in another one of your descendants. More importantly, I wanted to capture or eliminate Luo Chan. Honestly, just as your hopes weren’t very high, neither were mine.
“I never imagined that it would actually work.”
Greater Sancte Blood Tower rubbed his head. “So this is what it means to take things one step at a time.”
Lu Yuan’s eyes brightened. “Little Seven, it’s time you got married. Ten wives—no, a hundred!”
Lu Yin jumped in alarm. “Ancestor, don’t be ridiculous!”
Greater Sancte Blood Tower raised a hand to stop Lu Yuan, but then he turned to stare at Lu Yin with burning eyes. “He’s not wrong. Not at all. You need to have children, lots of them. The more you have, the greater the chance that one will awaken this innate gift of teleportation. In particular, with your unmatched talent, any child of yours would be among the most talented in all of human history, with a true chance of becoming an Immortal.
“Ten, a hundred, a thousand—just imagine it! Out of 1,000 children, how many would awaken an innate gift of teleportation? How many would become Immortals? If even just one did, it would be enough to raise up our entire civilization.”
Lu Yin was rendered speechless.
Lu Yuan chuckled. “I’ll pick out a few hundred women for you right away.”
Greater Sancte Blood Tower waved his hand. “First, we should get Xiang Siyu, and then those Seven Fairies and Qing Yun. None of them should be allowed to escape. Lu Yuan, how many can your Tianyuan provide?”
“As many as needed. The ones pining after Little Seven could form a line from the Nine Odysseys Megaverse and to the Tianyuan.”
“We still need to choose carefully. We can’t mistreat the children.”
“Don’t worry, none of them will be lacking. They’ll all be exceptional.”
“By the way, Mr. Lu, do you have any preference in regards to species?”
Lu Yin felt a burgeoning headache. “Let’s stop this right there. Don’t overthink things! I’m not a stud horse.”
Greater Sancte Blood Tower studied Lu Yin in a serious manner. “Mr. Lu, this is no longer about just you, but rather a matter that concerns all of humanity. The number of your descendants will directly affect the strength of our civilization. Their abilities will shape our future. This is no longer about your personal willingness. You must make sacrifices for humanity.”
“Little Seven, make this small sacrifice. Our Lu family needs to spread out its branches someday!” Lu Yuan laughed joyfully. What had once been his private wish had suddenly become humanity’s desire.
Lu Yin was speechless. Others struggled to balance family and duty; how had his situation become... this?
Do people even talk like this?
Yet... they did have a point, and he was tempted, though not by the women. He was tempted by the idea that, centuries in the future, he might have countless descendants. How many geniuses would be born? How many would awaken the ability to teleport? Even without that innate gift, just Investiture of the Gods and the Champions’ Stage would be enough for them to dominate their peers.
If one Lu Yin could do so much, then what about a hundred? What heights could their human civilization reach?
No wonder Greater Sancte Blood Tower had become so excited.
“I’ll go tell Senior Green Lotus right now,” Greater Sancte Blood Tower excitedly announced.
Lu Yin quickly stopped him. “I’ve thought of another way.”
“What other way? Do you want to pick your partners yourself? Then let me warn you: don’t set your standards too high.”
“I mean awakening the ability to teleport myself.”
“That doesn’t matter.”
“Yes, it does matter.”
“It’s true,” Lu Yuan interjected, “It is important that Little Seven awaken the innate gift for himself, though that won’t stop us from helping him choose some partners.”
“That’s true,” Greater Sancte Blood Tower admitted, “Even if he has many descendants, there might not be enough time. Besides... it isn’t easy for someone at his level to produce offspring.”
Lu Yuan laughed. “But we have the Mirari Realm!”
Greater Sancte Blood Tower slapped his forehead. “You’re right!”
On the River of Aeons, Zhao Ran finally lost her patience. “This place doesn’t allow for such nonsense! What a mess...”
She immediately rowed her boat away.
Greater Sancte Blood Tower watched her leave, muttering, “She counts as one.”
Lu Yin could only smile wryly. Zhao Ran was not even human, and she cared for Progenitor Ku far more than she did Lu Yin.
He had visited Progenitor Ku several times during their time in the Mirari Realm, as had Greater Sancte Blood Tower, who had praised the man as a rare genius of great willpower and talent, someone with the potential to one day soar into the heavens.
After speaking of Progenitor Ku, the Greater Sancte had moved on to speak of Jiang Feng, Progenitor Chen, and a number of others, praising the Tianyuan’s potential and saying that it might even surpass the Nine Odysseys Megaverse one day.
