c103: Groveling To An Enemy

Chapter 103: Chapter 103 Groveling To An Enemy "Gweneth, take your brother to the daycare on your way to school. I have to go to work early." Mom had said to me when I came downstairs for breakfast.

Maybe she needed to finish reports that she’d left over from yesterday. She did not give me a reason. I just came up with that on my own.

It always that whenever she goes early to work. I bathed Percy and got him ready.

I quickly got myself ready after. I plan to go and apologize to Lamont. There is a small chance that he might listen to my pleadings to rescind the suspension. He is the one who caused it. So he is the one I have to go to.

I imagine him thriving on it because he would like the feeling of me being crushed and defeated.

It totally sucks. I do not feel happy about it at all. But there is no other idea other than wait out for when the suspension would be lifted. If it would ever be.

Thankfully it was still pretty early by the time I dropped off my baby brother at his daycare. He had given me that smile of his and even waved at me as if wishing me luck. I hope he is because I do need every bit of that right now.

I am currently forbidden from the school grounds which means that I can only stay by the road to the main gate and wait for him to speed past in one of his deliquent flashy rides. I waited and continue to wait. Students who saw me are calling me names like; dirty slut and shameless whore. Booing and jeering at me as they passed by in their luxurious cars. I swallowed down the hurt, not letting it show as much as it is getting to me.

I start to regret wearing a simple T-shirt instead of a hoodie to hide my face from all of this embarrassment.

I don’t know how much time has passed. I am still waiting. The refreshing vitamin D sun rays are now gone. Replaced by the warm, gradually hot summer sun. I give up waiting and start to walk down the road. Heading home thinking that will not be attending school today. Just then I see his car coming from far ahead.

That Porsche. I would recognize it any time, anywhere.

It suddenly clicked on me that waiting on the side might not be a good idea. He would drive past me. So I decide to stay on the road. It is outrageously crazy, but it would be the most effective way to get to him. He would have no choice but to stop the car and see me unless he fancies a hit-and-run in broad daylight. I back up with a few meters so he would have enough space to stop. The speed of the car increases.

He has seen me and is dauntingly threatening me to get off the road. It sure as hell is intimidating.

I don’t.

I wouldn’t because this is my only last option. And I am holding on it to like the last lifeline that can save me.

I’ve been in the worse. I’m still in it. I can do this. I kept chanting that to myself. The car is drawing close. . .closer. I close my eyes, only to squintly open them again and peek at it through my lashes. It is dangerously close now.

For a split second, I thought I would be hit. My pulse races with adrenaline. A sudden burst of warm-cold wind blows past me.

Nothing else followed. No hit, nor pain. I see the bumper a few dangerous inches from my legs when I open my eyes. He had drag it, thinking and expecting that I would me to run away. He must have stepped hard on the brakes just in time when he realized that I had no plan of doing so.

The danger of what this could have led to is not lost on me. If he had taken even a second longer to do so, I would have been swept off the road in what would be a terrible, most likely fatal accident. I wasn’t the least bit concerned about the small crowd of spectators that had just witnessed my crazy act.

I have no attention to pay to them. He is the only reason I’m here. He comes out from the car, slamming the door hard. His jaw tight, rage painted on his face as he marches to me. "You really do have a death wish, don’t you?" He growls.

"I am sorry." Those three words come out easier than I thought it would. I have never felt like this before. Never been this desperate. Now that I’m experiencing it, I don’t think that there is another more chokingly bitter feeling that can rival or surpass it. Not even the grief that would result from being heartbroken from an unrequited love or a failed romance.

It is making me grovel to my archenemy. "I was wrong. Okay. Please forgive me." He looks taken aback for a split moment before his face lightens and that evil yet beautiful smile of his crosses his lips. "Are you really sorry, or do you just badly want to get over the suspension?"

"Both." I readily answer. "Please? I’ll do anything you want me to. Just please. . ."

His eyes turns a shade darker. "Anything?"

"Yes." I respond in a shaky yet steady tone. "If you want, I can kneel down and apologize to you in front of the whole school." I take a second to breathe because I had rambled that out almost like a rapverse.

The corner of his mouth lifts. "I guess you would have to kneel then.

But I will be lenient and not let be in front of the whole school. Since you want it so badly." Nothing in his gaze says innocent.

So this is not going to be as simple then.

"Get in the car."
