c1404: Red Garment Fierce Spirit

The energy around Black Castle is now too chaotic, and the Giant of Perilous Mountain could explode at any moment.

Kimberly’s approach involved sustaining a stable energy channel that allowed the undead spirits of the Giant of Perilous Mountain to home in on Isabella. Then, she would lead them away from Black Castle.

It turned out that Kimberly’s approach had no problems.

The Giant of Perilous Mountain, despite its considerable size, was after all just undead and because its body contained fragments of other spirits, it had no thinking ability. Its sole logic of behavior was to find living people and then explode.

Now, the only living person’s aura it could sense, under Kimberly’s arrangement, was Isabella’s alone, so naturally it followed Isabella’s footsteps towards the wilderness.

As the “thud, thud, thud” of the footsteps became fainter, and the figure of the Giant of Perilous Mountain more distant, everyone’s initial terror gradually settled down, but they still felt very uneasy.

No one knew what other means the Origin of Chaos might have.

Was it truly the end for the undead Giant of Perilous Mountain?

The answer was no.

While everyone breathed a sigh of relief with the undead Giant of Perilous Mountain far away, the crisis was far from over. Suddenly, a blazing red light leaped up from somewhere.

This red light, of a dark shade, resembled blood that had started to congeal, with a hint of black amidst the red.

The red light moved rapidly through the air, and the eyes could only catch the long shadow of the red phantom.

When the red light touched the undead, it paused for less than a second, and immediately all the surrounding undead changed in appearance. Their already hideous faces suddenly became even more twisted, a fleeting red gleam in their eyes, as they mindlessly rushed towards the living nearby.

These undead, brushed by the red light, though not originally amalgamations of spirits, also began to explode.

The booming noises that had yet to cease, now, with the advent of this red light, had only fed the already raging fire, and without cooling, added fuel to the flames, making the wizards struggling to maintain balance below miserable.

As the red light kept leaping and moving, a shadow suddenly flashed by, blocking the path of the red light.

The shadow pushed down its hat, strands of gray-green curly hair spilling from the brim, and a glint flashed in the indifferent eyes, “I didn’t expect to find a Red Specter here. Should I say, King Gumman’s methods are incredible, to be able to summon such a rare spirit. Or should I commend Black Castle’s power of creation, as befitting of the Southern Domain’s forefront?”

It was Sanders speaking, and before him, as the red light finally stilled, one could clearly see its face.

A new type of undead, distinct from the others.

Clad in a bright red dress, her body also emitted a faint glow, yet the light she gave off was that of blood. Her features were not ferocious; she was even strikingly beautiful, but the bizarre smile hooking toward her ears and her arched brows were filled with a wicked and sinister malice.

“Heeheehee—” The hair-raising laughter came from the mouth of the Red Specter.

“It seems communication is impossible,” Sanders said, his wand tracing a pattern in the air, and he slowly pronounced, “Your opponent is me.”

As the wand traced its path, a murky grey mist gradually enveloped both Sanders and the Red Specter…

When the mist fully obscured Sanders and the Red Specter, Isabella’s complexion gradually turned gloomy.

The Red Specter was a terrifying type of undead. Exile Techniques were useless against it; the art of Holy Light had very little effect on it as well, making it problematic even for True Knowledge Wizards.

Isabella, as a Soul Witch, could certainly restrain the Red Specter, but to completely destroy it would take some time.

Therefore, Sanders sent her a message, “King Gumman’s intentions are now quite clear; her target is likely Angel. These unexpected spirits have all been to hold us back.”

“Whatever her methods may be, we do not know, but they all revolve around a core of undead. Thus, it is best for you to confront her,” he continued.

“Leave this Red Specter to me to keep busy.”

Isabella actually agreed with Sanders. The goal of the Origin of Chaos was Angel and it made sense for her to deal with whatever method the Origin of Chaos would employ next.

However, while Isabella understood Sanders’ intent, she was somewhat confused. Angel could be in danger at any moment, and yet Sanders was entrusting his student’s safety to her? Was it trust in her, or did it reflect his absolute confidence in Angel?

If Isabella were Angel’s mentor, she would never make such a choice. Angel, being an irreplaceable talent, should not be left in the care of others—it was not a wise decision.

Even though Isabella thought this, she did not let her vigilance towards Angel slacken. After all, Angel was now fighting for Black Castle, and just for that alone, Isabella could not afford any negligence towards him.

Now, with Kimberly, Isabella, and Sanders held back, Isabella believed that if the Origin of Chaos really had intense intentions towards Angel, her next move would soon become apparent.

Sure enough, before long, another change occurred at the scene.

An elderly female undead emerged slowly from Black Castle.

This female undead did not appear very formidable. She was dressed in a deep black robe, her face not hideous, her eyes always tightly shut, as serene as an ordinary spirit.

But Isabella, as a Soul Witch, could easily judge whether a spirit was corrupted.

This female undead was definitely corrupted.

Nevertheless, what now captured Isabella’s attention was not whether she was undead, but her shock and disbelief, “Why… why is Moriya here?”

Mollya and Isabella once shared the same mentor, but when the mentor left for the Source Continent, Mollya vanished without a trace.

Isabella thought Mollya had followed their mentor to the Source Continent.

But she never imagined that Mollya not only didn’t go to the Source Continent but stayed in the Southern Domain! Worse yet, she ended up dead and her soul had fallen to become undead?

What was even more unacceptable to Isabella was that Mollya seemed to be controlled by the Origin of Chaos, and did not stand with Black Castle.

Mollya slowly ascended, still without a hint of momentum.

After a while, Isabella and Mollya each held their ground, with Isabella frowning, “You… what exactly happened a thousand years ago, why did you stay in the Southern Domain?”

“I clearly saw you leave, why did you not only stay, but also fall into corruption?”

“Tell me, what happened?”

Isabella’s unanswered questions got no response.

Isabella furrowed her brows, knowing that Mollya, now an undead, was unlikely to share any news through her lips, because the actions of an undead were never based on memories from their life.
