Chapter 1308: Section 1309 Sample Issue

Deep within the Evernight Forest, the gathering place of the Flower Fairies—Genoa.

At the headquarters of the Glowing City Night Talk magazine company, Rivetta was holding a fountain pen, swiftly scribbling away. Black ink adorned the two ends of a white paper; each bore a name.

On one side was Angel, and on the other was the Lord of the Flameless.

After a moment of thought, Rivetta added another line of text between the two names: Odeclass.

“Angel isn’t dead, Odeclass offers friendship, the Lord of the Flameless falls.” Rivetta muttered softly to herself, each piece of news was huge, enough to stand on its own, but together, they marked a tipping point of transformative significance!

Even the hand holding the pen was trembling with excitement.

She could almost be certain that once this issue of the magazine was published, it would have a tremendous impact on the Wizards’ Realm of the Southern Domain. “Glowing City Night Talk” would undoubtedly rise a level higher among all wizards’ publications!

Although not as authoritative in knowledge as “Forest of Time” from the City of Truth, in future, when wizards talk about the extent of being well-informed and the timeliness of news, they will probably think of “Glowing City Night Talk” first.

Rivetta’s eyes shone brightly as she looked at the three names on the paper. To her, these represented hope!

Thump thump thump—

The window was knocked, and when Rivetta pulled aside the curtain fringed with rose patterns, she saw outside the transparent glass a Winter Sun Grass Spirit, about waist-high and flapping its golden wings, bowing politely to Rivetta through the window.

Upon opening the window, a cool, fragrant aroma wafted in, not strong but subtle, making one feel warm inside, as if basking in the gentle warm sun amidst a Cold Winter.

This was the unique scent of Winter Sun Grass.

“Honorable Miss Rivetta, the first print run of the magazine has been completed at the printing house,” said the gender-neutral, captivating voice of the Winter Sun Grass Spirit.

“The proof copy is already out?” Rivetta’s eyes lit up, “Good, I’ll go there right now. Oh, and remember to inform Editor Diescher?”

The Winter Sun Grass Spirit nodded, “Whispering Wind has already gone to see Lord Diescher. He’s faster than me; perhaps Lord Diescher is already at the printing house.”

A short while later, Rivetta arrived at the eastern suburbs of Genoa, where a printing house full of floral fragrance was located. As soon as she opened the door to the printing house, she saw a tall and imposing figure standing in the distance.

Rivetta subconsciously straightened her slightly collapsed pointed wizard hat, then took a deep breath and approached: “Editor Diescher.”

The tall figure turned his face, revealing a rather handsome profile, but the eyes under his messy hair seemed weary, with heavy dark circles beneath them.

“Rivetta has arrived,” Diescher spoke languidly, “I’ve seen the proof copy. You’ve brought back a big story this time.”

A smile played at the corners of Rivetta’s mouth: “So, Editor, do you think the astronomical contract I signed with Wallace was worth the price?”

“Worth it, of course it’s worth it.” Diescher smiled, “The advance payment you gave to Wallace earlier, I’ll have someone compensate you for that shortly.”

Rivetta’s smile grew even brighter.

Diescher was flipping through a proof copy which, although coverless, had a basically fixed layout, showing more and more surprise on his face as he turned the pages. It was hard to say whether he was surprised by the content itself or the anticipation of the reaction it would trigger once published.

“Angel, Odeclass, the Lord of the Flameless…” Diescher murmured, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

As the chief editor of Glowing City Night Talk and also a True Knowledge Wizard, Diescher was very sensitive to news within the wizard community, having a basic understanding of many potentials, even for those unsung.

For example, if asked to name the upcoming rising stars likely to advance in the New Stars Competition, Diescher could reel off dozens of names without hesitation.

Angel, he certainly knew of him. It wasn’t just the news of Angel brought back by Rivetta; even before this, Diescher was aware of Angel and had already ranked his potential within the top ten among the younger generation.

But following this event, Diescher couldn’t help but feel he had underestimated the man.

What kind of impact would the three names Angel, Odeclass, and the Lord of the Flameless have in the near future? Diescher knew well, but he never expected that Angel, in such a short time, could be mentioned alongside two others, and even amid the brilliance, not pale in comparison to the other two!

“Truly, the depth of large wizard organizations is beyond our reach,” Diescher sighed softly.

He turned to Rivetta and said, “The proof copy is already very good. Your writing for this issue, avoiding ostentatious style and opting for straightforward narration, will be more heart-touching and moving. The sequence of information absorption you’ve arranged for the readers is also very good; we can basically use it as the final version.”

“For the honor of reaching the pinnacle of Glowing City Night Talk, I dare not embellish it with exaggerations at this time,” Rivetta said with a smile.

“Great, let’s go with this. Once the cover is finalized and we select the right scented ink, we can arrange the printing,” Diescher decided.

Just as the printing house was getting ready to start operations, a Space Rift suddenly tore open in the sky above Genoa, and the chaotic Spatial Energy frightened all the flying Flower Fairies, who hastily retreated.

Diescher, who had been arranging the printing work, now furrowed his brow and exchanged a glance with Rivetta: “Let’s go out and check.”

After both stepped outside, they hadn’t yet reached midair when they felt an aggressive gaze scanning them.

“Found them,” a deep voice echoed in both their ears.

Rivetta’s expression darkened as she turned to Diescher: “That voice is…”

Diescher: “Issac.”

As the words fell, a dark-skinned man with faint dragon patterns descended from the sky. This person was none other than a Second Level True Knowledge Wizard of the Frostmoon Alliance—’Black Dragon’ Issac.

“`

It wasn’t just Issac who had arrived; as he stood firm, another followed and touched down.

If Issac embodied violence and aggression, then the other signified contradiction and mystery.

His features were young, his skin as translucent as a baby’s. Yet his eyes carried the weight of a world-weary elder’s years, and his dry, weed-like white hair seemed to attest to his age.

He was a person upon whom time had cast its contradictory marks.

Embellished upon his robe were twelve round clocks, each differing in design, even the hour hands on the faces were all distinct.

Though this person wasn’t as powerful as Issac, Diescher held him in higher regard.

“The Pendulum of Time, Luci,” Diescher murmured his name softly.
