Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using reChapters.

Last updated: June 17, 2026

1. Acceptance & Scope

These Terms of Service (the "Terms"), together with our Privacy Policy, form an agreement between you and reChapters ("RCS", "we", "us") governing your access to and use of reChapters and the related services at reChapters.com. Please read them carefully, especially the clauses that exclude or limit our liability.

  • By accessing, registering for, or using any part of the service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
  • If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please discontinue use of the service.
  • If you are under 18 or otherwise lack full legal capacity, please read and accept these Terms together with a parent or legal guardian.

2. Account & Security

You may need to register a reChapters account, or sign in through a supported third-party provider such as Google, to use certain features.

  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • We recommend a strong password combining upper- and lower-case letters, numbers, and symbols. We are not liable for losses caused by weak passwords or your failure to safeguard your credentials.
  • Your account is for your personal use only and may not be gifted, lent, rented, transferred, or sold. We may reclaim accounts not used by their original registrant.
  • Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you discover any unauthorized use of your account.

3. Personal Information & Privacy

How we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information is described in detail in our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

Unless otherwise agreed, the service is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use only, and the rights granted under these Terms are non-transferable.

  • You must use the service only through interfaces and methods provided or authorized by RCS.
  • You may not use unauthorized plug-ins, bots, scrapers, or third-party tools to interfere with, disrupt, modify, or otherwise affect the service.
  • You may not redistribute, resell, or build derivative aggregations from content obtained through the service.
  • Violation of this section is a material breach. We may suspend or terminate the service without refunding fees already paid, and may pursue further legal remedies.

5. Service Provided "As Is"

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, reflecting current technology and conditions. While we strive for continuity and security, we cannot foresee or prevent every legal, technical, or other risk — including force majeure, viruses, hacking, system instability, third-party service defects, or governmental action — that may lead to interruptions, data loss, or other harm.

6. Your Own Equipment

You are responsible for providing and maintaining the devices, software, and network connectivity needed to use the service, and for any associated costs such as data and internet fees. Using the service consumes your device resources and bandwidth.

7. Advertising

We may display advertising or promotional information from us or third parties as part of the service, and may change its form and scope without separate notice.

  • You should independently judge the authenticity and reliability of any advertisement and are responsible for your own transactions based on it.
  • Except as expressly required by law, we are not liable for losses arising from third-party advertisements or the content they link to.

8. Paid Services & Top-ups

reChapters may offer free and paid services. Paid features (such as unlocking premium chapters) are purchased using in-platform virtual coins, which can be topped up through supported payment channels including credit/debit cards, cryptocurrency providers, and Ko-fi.

  • Coins are a prepaid means of accessing value-added services on reChapters only, and cannot be exchanged for cash, traded between users, or used outside the platform.
  • The top-up exchange rate and minimum amounts are shown on the recharge page and form part of these Terms once published.
  • Once a top-up succeeds it is considered final; once coins are spent on a purchase, the spent amount is non-refundable. Requests regarding unspent balances may be reviewed by contacting us, and approved refunds are returned via the original payment method less applicable fees.
  • We may adjust pricing and rules; changes take effect when published. If you disagree, please stop using the paid services.
  • For payments processed by third parties (such as card networks or crypto/payment processors), you must also comply with their terms; we are not responsible for disputes arising from third-party payment services.

9. Intellectual Property

The reChapters brand, logos, software, interface, and related materials are owned by RCS or its licensors and protected by applicable law. Novel content displayed on the platform remains the property of its respective rights holders; RCS does not claim ownership of third-party content.

  • Without prior written authorization, you may not copy, modify, distribute, transmit, publicly perform, reproduce, license, create derivative works from, or sell any content or materials from the service.
  • You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the service or its software.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You must comply with applicable laws and may not use the service for unlawful activities. If we discover or receive reports of violating content, we may independently judge and remove, block, or disable links to it, and may suspend or terminate your account. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Publishing, transmitting, or storing content that endangers national security or public order, or that is defamatory, obscene, violent, or otherwise unlawful.
  • Infringing the intellectual property, trade secrets, or other lawful rights of others.
  • Fabricating facts or concealing the truth to mislead or deceive others.
  • Distributing advertisements or spam.
  • Any other conduct prohibited by law.

11. Third-Party Products & Services

When you use third-party products or services through reChapters (including links to third-party sites), you must also comply with the third party's terms. RCS and the third party each bear responsibility within the scope provided by law and their respective agreements.

12. Force Majeure & Other Disclaimers

You understand that using the service may involve risks such as force majeure that interrupt the service. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for service interruptions or losses caused by:

  • Viruses, trojans, malicious programs, or hacking targeting your device.
  • Failures of your hardware, software, system, or communication lines.
  • Your improper operation.
  • Use of the service through unauthorized means.
  • We are also not responsible for the authenticity, applicability, or legality of information provided by other users, nor for harm caused by third-party conduct. Never trust requests for loans, passwords, or money; verify identities and stay alert to fraud.

13. Minors

If you are under 18, you are a minor and should read these Terms and use the service under the supervision and guidance of a parent or legal guardian.

  • Guardians should supervise and guide minors' use of the service, help them recognize the difference between online and real life, and avoid over-reliance on the internet.
  • A guardian who wishes a minor to use the service should register in the guardian's own name and judge whether the service is suitable for the minor.

14. Effectiveness & Changes

We provide the service after obtaining your consent and acceptance. We may modify these Terms when necessary; updated Terms replace the prior version upon publication and will be made available on the relevant pages.

  • You may decline modified Terms, but this may mean you have to stop using the affected software or service.

15. Changes, Interruption & Termination of Service

We may change, interrupt, suspend, or terminate the service. We may interrupt or terminate the service to you without notice if:

  • Information you provided is untrue or inconsistent with your registration and you cannot provide reasonable proof.
  • You violate applicable law or these Terms.
  • Your account has been deactivated.
  • Required by law or competent authorities.
  • For security reasons or other necessary circumstances.

16. Governing Law & Disputes

The formation, validity, performance, interpretation, and dispute resolution of these Terms are governed by applicable law. Any dispute should first be resolved through friendly negotiation; if negotiation fails, it shall be submitted to a court of competent jurisdiction.

  • Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
  • If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
